LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12 (S), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Solved it!
TWRP -> Wipe -> Format Data -> Yes
What's the L in 12.1L? Also, every Rom I've tried with this phone past Android 10 has had trouble with File Manager and Gallery apps where it just won't read my internal storage and nothing shows up. Any idea what's up with that?
Is this rom can used for daily usage? Is there something that doesn't work?

Well, there doesn't seem to be any other issues, but the 5x's lack of memory is evident.
Fingerprint doesn't work, maybe because i lock bootloader after installation?

Oh, sorry, I was accidentally building from the source that I was testing.
I think it's a problem because I built it with the source I'm working on to fix the volte.
If you temporarily delete the vendor/app/ims folder, the problem will be solved.
I should upload it again.
Thank you for the report!
No problem, thank you for your work! Once you solved I just have only to flash the image over this one via adb ? How about oem lock or unlock? Have I to leave locked or unlocked?

Once again, the link has been modified.
I think it's better to keep the bootloader unlocked.
Ok, i have unlocked bootloader and than reinstall all from scratch. Now seems that all works good!
But is it normal that "phone service" continues to ask for location?

I'm not sure about this.
I didn't mind because I allowed all the permission requests.

Latest update: June 29th 2017
Disclaimer:
Altough we are working hard to deliver a bug-free rom, things may break and we are not responsible if something goes wrong and your hardware becomes damaged or if you have any problem, you are taking a risk flashing roms.
Hi, so you might wonder why the other thread got closed and what's all of this about. Well, the answer is that now I'll be maintaining this rom while Surdu will take care of Resurrection Remix, the rom is the same and you can flash this builds without wiping if you had the 'older' rom.
Instructions:
If you come from stock EMUI 5.0:
Install TWRP (Available in this subforum)
Format data
Flash vendor.zip
Flash LineageOS's zip
If you already have LineageOS:
Flash LineageOS's zip
Downloads:
Find them in this DevDB project section called 'Downloads' (you might need to use a computer)

Encryption
Changelog:
Code:
01/06/2017 - Fixed random reboot issue
01/06/2017 - Added loop support
29/06/2017 - Fixed tethering
29/06/2017 - Fixed shaky camera
29/06/2017 - Updated Lineage source

There are still some little bugs to fix and things will break from time to time, so in order to properly help you and keep the thread organized every help petition should include:
Brief description of the issue
A way to replicate it
Screenshots/Logs
Without that information, your post will be futile so please meet those easy conditions and try to keep the thread clean!
Last but not least, thanks to the whole OpenKirin team (@surdu_petru @OldDroid) for their amazing job at keeping updated roms for kirin devices as well as helping with this one.

I'm bit confused. So where is the download section?
Found it
Sorry about that, there must be a problem with XDA servers, it's taking more than an hour to upload! And unfortunately I couldn't upload it without posting the DevDB thread, if it keeps working like that I'll find a more reliable storage solution.
I am really sorry! Check back in 5 minutes or so
Very nice job, and happy you fixed the issue. I'll set it as my daily driver once everything's OK
So what exactly caused the issues ? I'm curious as to whether it could have been solved on our own (i do say without Huawei's kind but forced operations).
And what do we do with that vendor.zip ? Flash it on top of Lineage's original Vendor package ?
(EDIT : Check post on top, the joys of cross-posting )
Still, thank you immensely on behalf of all the community

Hi, the problem was that a driver introduced by Huawei checked the time that it takes to boot (running in a kthread), if it takes more than three minutes it reboots to eRecovery, but it looks like it waits for a signal from userspace to check if it booted (like, write 1 to /sys/.... Whenever it boots).
We were actually aware of this being the issue, and tried to avoid it by editing the function's code (ARM64 instructions because we had no source (By filling the function with NOP or returning 0)) but we didn't succeed at first and thought that the kernel release was near so it made no sense to keep wasting time on it, if you want to see more details just go to github and check what we did, I hope that you understood the explanation.
Thanks for your kind words!
EDIT: The rom is up, you can download it now.
The Lineage zip file has uploaded! Thanks again for all your guys work.
Thx for your job. I'll now have to unlock the bootloader and start flashing. Two questions: can I lock the bootloader again once I installed LOS? Do i need to install twrp or is it enough to just boot it for installation?

Not at all, you need to be on EMUI in order to relock it. (You can if you go back to EMUI but I think that you asked if you could do that while you are on LineageOS).

I am not sure about that, I think it does because that's coded into the HAL and we are using the one from Huawei.

I do not want to be rude, but if you want a personalized rom, based LOS or AOSP with fully dual camera support and FPS gesture, you better stay on stock EMUI
does the rom supports volte?if no please add that feature..this is the one con to make it as my daily driver

Wow, this rom performs well!
I've run into an issue though, when I boot up the phone I get a notification that says "SIM cards changed, tap to setup".
Mobile data isn't working so when I tap the notification to fix it, it says: blabla "is the only sim in your device".
Then it says "switching data sim, this may take a minute" and suddenly the mobile data starts working!!!
...only for the phone to eventually reboot on it's own into recovery, usually after about a minute. Upon rebooting, the notification about the sim appears again.

Alright PE is here now. thanks, dev. will test it out
It has been flashed, the three-state key is invalid, fingerprint can be entered but fingerprint unlocking does not work.
Is there face unlock? How about automatic screen brightness, is it ok? Any major bugs? Flashed other ROM yesterday, so maybe I won't flash again today if everything is not working.

I installed it via fastboot PixelExperience_Plus_hotdogb-10.0-20200913-1031-UNOFFICIAL.zip. I think this is a problem of fod implementation. I have encountered this situation in aosip rom. Later they used the new fod implementation method, which is now very good

First of all i wanted to ask as when I have flashed twrp and enter twrp it does not show my internal storage and then I try to repair the data and try to change the file system then I get an error message saying that Permission denied or it says the user or resource is busy. And could you add an flash all file in the rom itself as for the fastboot mode we have to first extract the payload file and then flash. I tried extracting using payload dumper and using the .bat file from msm rom but it shows an error that recovery image, system image could not be loaded. Been waiting to try a n ew rom on my device for a long time. Hope I could get some solution.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Wiki only lists retail models. For anything non-retail, you're on your own when it goes for bootloader unlock or firmware updates, although branded models /should/ be working too.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Wow, This ROM is very good!
Thank you so much!
The rom works great, thanks
Any particular gapps package work best for this? Mind the Gapps? Open Gapps? Either?
GREAT!!! THX!!!
Very nice ROM. I have it few hours and I am surprised how fast it is. Thx for this ROM.
But my camera is not working. Do you - @equlog have any idea what's wrong or any one? Thanks for the answer.

I have seen the same thing. Camera won't run for me either. I also see a crash of the app com.qualcom.qcrilmsgtunnel. That com app seems to crash during initial setup of the phone and randomly after setup. Otherwise it is performing pretty well.

AFAIK stock camera included works fine.

Fast and nice rom. Thanks!
My camera is working OK.
Excellent ROM! There is only one issue with camera - sometimes it just stops working and produces black image in any camera apps (tried stock Camera and Open Camera), only reboot fix it.
Here is a log during interacting with Camera app: https://paste.opensuse.org/89701876
The moment at which the camera was hang is annotated with that text:
Code:
======================> CAMERA HUNG [!!!]
This happens independently of which camera is being used (frontal or main)

This is how to make a bug report! Well done!
I'm planning a new build(and last) with Sept Security patch... I think camera will be fixed or at least more stable.
This works great for me with USB Tethering, thanks for giving my old phone a new life!
I've been usine Linux for years. Made .IMG backups with dd a while back. Unfortunately I lost mynbackups and now I have a curropt persist partition. I really need a persist IMG to fix it. I have a nexus 5x and the partition is p24. If anyone can send me a copy. You can pull it from twrp or a root terminal with
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p24 of=/sdcard/persist.img
Id really aprecate it.
