Is there a Lumia section? - General Topics

Hello, I can't find a specific Lumia section to ask this question so I'll just ask here and hope someone knows the answer, I'm up to 1703 on my 640 XL with OTC update, and I want to know if I can get up to 1904 or is 1703 as it far as it goes?

Did a search and not a section for the 640, but some threads. Look around here:
Search results for query: Lumia

Well unfortunately I didn't find any info on what the latest Win 10 Mobile that works, Redstone build seems to old and probably would be before 1703, so based on the info or lack of info I can only conclude that 1703 is a far as you can take it, I might be wrong but that's how it looks for now.

LOL I guess not huh?
@ OP: If you can find the "new thread" button..you surely can find the search button. Why not use that??
If i found a version working i dont ask... and in this forum we are here to help each other, or you have shown more intelligent than others?

No one is claiming to be more intelligent than anyone so you can stop with that one! Our point is that you would have easily found it if you tried a simple search for it. Or you could have asked in one of the other many cht threads. Yes you're correct, these forums are here for us to help each other but that doesn't mean there aren't rules to follow!! And the first rule on the list is:
FORUM RULES
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

Edit: P.s. Having that kind of attitude here, especially with the people in which your asking of help, isn't going to get you far!!

You joined this site to ask that one question? There was seriously nothing better on your mind than to come in here and ask this single question. Did you bother to do a Google search or even a forum search to see if maybe, just maybe this question has been answered several times before?
No, you didn't. You came in here hoping someone would do all the work for you. You aren't starting off your time here very well. Next time, do everyone a favor and either read the forum rules first, or don't bother posting anything.

Can someone who isn't a bitter 30-year old virgin answer me this, since I can't find a proper answer anywhere else. This is the Q&A section, right?
Depends on the device. Porting OS's is difficult to say the least.
If you look at the HTC HD2 forums, you will see that the devs there have managed it.
All in all, don't get your hopes up for an easy way to get WP7 on your Android, in most cases, it is actually impossible.

[Q] HTC 8X Forum?

So I just got back from my AT&T store with a new HTC 8X, and came here looking for a forum for the device. I could not find one, after browsing and searching. If there's a forum for this device that I'm not finding, please point me in the direction.

Same here.
There's no forum for the Ativ either; only the Nokias get the special treatment, as we all know.
I'd like to see an 8X forum, if only to discuss how us non-Verizon folks can take ours apart and install wireless charging
Damn right! +1

The forums at wp central are pretty good, youn don't get all the WP bashing you get on XDA (there is still help and constructive criticism of the platform). I think XDA is an android forum now.

Question: When 5.0 Comes Out, Will It Work On Infuse?

From what I'm reading about Key Lime Pie, it may solely target quad core hardware. I have high regard for many of you in this forum, and would like to know if you have looked into what it will take to leverage 5.0 for Infuse, or if that is already moot and you see it will be easy to accomplish. Just curious. Thanks.
Or if simply that won't be answerable until there is a code leak?
Wrong Section........This area is for Development and not Q&A.
Moderator(s), please transfer this thread to appropriate area. Hope a few developers will be kind to give some input there.
Or, moderator(s), if you deem this would be pertinent to enough developer input to remain here, either way is fine. Thanks.

lol the moderators will not deem this relevant to the development section. Thanks for the laughs though.
They can move it, then. Thanks for the hospitality. Expectations are adjusted.

Thank you. Check this link:
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/03/26/samsung-quad-core-cpu-required-for-android-5-0
Not sure whether quad-core programming could be leveraged to single or dual core. Hence the question to developers, who would probably have a good idea.
my guess is late july or aug this phone will get it! thanks to scott and his cm10.1

Hi,
Does anybody know why is the thread search feature of the forum does not work? Whenever I try to search in a thread, I always get empty results, no matter what I search for.
thank you.
I am having the same problem, and unfortunately, I can't search for a solution to the search issue.

if your using mobile, i think search feature is available on the premium version of xda app.,
Nope, not using mobile.
I actually think it may be tied to the 10 post minimum rule, that prohibits new people from posting in Development forums until they have reached 10 posts. Strange that it would also prevent newbies from searching development threads as well. Kind of catch 22.

oh i see., not really sure but you might want to read this to get started
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699450
It only appears to be certain threads that the search feature doesn't work on. For example, no matter what term I search for, I always get zero hits on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705292
Any ideas? Thanks!
