Why are some magnet links not working? - General Questions and Answers

I have been using the site rarbgaccess.org for a couple of years without any issues. However, there has been some odd behavior over the past few weeks.
Recently, I grabbed the magnet link from https://rarbgaccess.org/torrent/eoihdrn, which says ‘Seeders : 102 , Leechers : 7’, loaded it into my seedbox.io page, and the show was available to me within the hour.
At the same time, I grabbed the magnet link from https://rarbgaccess.org/torrent/p69t3og, which says ‘Seeders : 171 , Leechers : 14’, loaded it into my seedbox.io page, and after 40+ hours, not a single byte had been downloaded.
I suspect one of two problems: First, the reported number of seeders/leechers is wrong; or second, the magnet URL is wrong.
Any thoughts about what I can do to resolve this issue?

Quite frankly: Forget RARBG, they are a bunch of quite sore losers, staff generally shows a nazi-like attitude. OK, one could live with that for the sake of a quick DL.
Peer stats on RARBG are usually working but if seeders is down to 1, that's a lie! You can check for current stats at other sites like:
https://www.torrentdownloads.pro/
Much worse is that pretty much all their stuff is remuxed - they steal stuff elsewhere, and remux it just put their pee-mark in it:

Worst are the very downsampled rarbg "releases", crappy crap from people who don't know/care much about videos - just the same s*it like yify in a different color, a different shade of brown
EOD: RARBG maybe good to see what's available but if you care about quality you'd look elsewhere and you find plenty of good sites with awesome communities.
PS: Zdrasti! No offence to BG at all

Thanks for the honest feedback. One of the reasons I have been using RARBG is that they typically have the ION10 torrents, which include closed captioning (which my wife likes because she is hard of hearing). What torrent site(s) would you suggest?

Me, too ...but probably for slightly different reasons: I am turning deaf when eating chips Subs are also useful when actors are just mumbling or watching foreign films in original. No subs, no deal.
Subs are also another thing where RARBG often fails but on the positive side for them, they have always a proper mediainfo so you see any and all tracks in advance (I already felt slightly sorry for them after my rant).
And your wife will love this:
https://www.opensubtitles.org
All the subs in one place (well, most of them, like 95%) and eg SMPlayer can download the right sub on the spot:

Not really an XDA topic
Hard to tell, there are so many. Also depends on your likes (size, languages, bonus material, quality, remux) and many require signup/invite but here are two sites for a first overview:
https://opentrackers.org/
http://torrentinvites.org/forum.php
Or just google for the desired release name (in your case with "ION10"), that should also point you in the right direction

I am only re-posting to this because it brings up a pet peeve of mine. And just for clarity: THE ABOVE POST WAS MADE BEFORE all the usual suspects (online phone & gadget magaizines) came out of the woodwork to steal "Alfred's" scoop -- in effect making it THEIR scoop, with not so much as a nod to the guy who acquired these now widely-seen photos.
I posted this the day I saw it and it was sourced to "Alfred's Blog" in Hong Kong.
Yet for the past 2-3 says, one by one, gizmodo, engadget, pocketnow, and all the other "lacking in original thought & content" magazines have re-posted and re-posted these images, and instead of crediting the source who got the photos, they credit the prior BLOG they got it from.
So it's all a dumb cookie crumb trail -- like pocketnow i think sources gizmodo, who sources someone else, and that source goes to engadget, and engadget got it from one other source -- who got it from "Alfred's Blog".
That in itself is annoying, and speaks to the fractured and redundant nature of this touchscreen world when it comes to those "covering" it. But whatg's worse is of you happen to follow any of these "sources" on twitter... It becomes even more blatantly empty and shallow, with PocketNow re-tweeting someone else, yet creating their own shortURL that links to, say, gizmodo's page....
I wish this incessant-Retweeting culture would face some kind of pushback from people who really don't need 100 reminders of "hey, this could be the Nexus Two!" ....
I actually have come to like twitter, where i originally hated it for its original intent" "what are you doing right now?"... But as a crowdsourcing medium now -- its better usage -- we get collaborative filtering from "human receptors" all over the world.
The problem is: Now everyone Retweets what someone initially sources, and then the permutations begin.
/mini-rant over
Yes, "everything is a copy of a copy of a copy" as a narrator once told us over ten years ago.
I totally agree about the irritating blog echoes turned to tweet echoes especially when I mistake them for reporting something new only to find out the "new" story is actually based on a two week old speculative engadget post. I have mostly come to accept this sillyness but it is indeed funny to see how a story's original facts and rumors become transformed as the story makes its way through the seeming endless bile duct of crap blogs.

[APP] SudoTape . A measurement/note taking tool

I finally finished my first Android app.

Basically SudoTape lets you mark up images on your device, images either saved on the device externally or using the built-in camera intent.
I found that being a code monkey most my life my writing with those ancient things calls pens and pencils sucks. Recently I found I needed to take some notes for measurements of things in my house and found I couldn't read my own damn writing so I thought, "Why can't I just take a picture of what I want to measure and just draw on the picture"?
This is the premise for SudoTape.
Here is the market link: https://market.android.com/details?id=net.pixelsystems.sudotape
Here is a link to the documentation: http://pixelsystems.net/?page_id=66
The app is free so it costs nothing to try it out. Your device doesn't need a camera in order to use the app even if the market suggests a camera is required.
Just curious what became of this app? I'm looking for an app for photo markup and this might have fitted the bill. Not available in the Canada play store though.

I haven't had time to update the app, it was frozen in time on Android 2.3 or something ancient. The entire camera functionality changed since I wrote the app so much of the camera functionality didn't work, or didn't work well enough to keep it in the store. I was getting tons of negative reviews so I just pulled it.
Not sure if I'll ever get back to updating it.. last I looked there were a bunch of similar apps out there so maybe you'll find something that will do what you want.
Funny thing is, it's harder than you'd think to find a really good photo markup app.
* SnapMarkup comes close but lacks text boxes
* Nimbus seems a bit overboard....

Too bad, I liked how the app worked.. Since I can't read my bloody writing anymore I used it a lot when doing some changes around the house. Sadly the SDK around the camera was in TERRIBLE shape, Android 2.X was a mess at the time with each manufacturer doing their own thin in regards to retrieving images from the camera. It made it a nightmare to try and debug and hack through all the different odd behaviors.
Chances are though, even if I managed to rewrite the camera portion to use the new SDK the whole UI is also frozen in time with the notion of having a menu button (which almost no phones do now).
Maybe some day, but not anytime soon. Thanks for the interest though.

[REQ] Looking for a android developer to realise my concept.

So, I'm a graphic designer by trade and while working on expanding my portfolio, I started thinking about an app concept. Slowly I worked out the concept for a honeycomb app, this included UI, functions, visual identity, uses, targeted user base. The main idea was to create an app that was both visually appealing and useful since most android apps around frankly look like ****.
Now what I'm looking for is a dev to translate this concept into an actual app since I'm a lowly designer and my programming experience doesn't go beyond jQuery. Now for all I care the dev interested can sell it or distribute it for free, all I want is credit for the design and initial concept.
Now because of this I'm not going to just post the idea for the app here since I put a lot of time and effort into it, but any dev willing to help can PM me and I'll give detailed information. I must tell you that it is a relatively simple app.
Also to prove I am not just talking out of my ass,
here's the logo design:

and here is a screenshot of a part of the app:
I must note again that I'm not looking for profit or money, just credit.
EDIT: please fix the title.

I have gotten 2 responses, and it's a productivity app aimed at people who enjoy drawing.
And no it is not a drawing app.

sadface bump ):
that logo looks like a electrostatic tablet pen for drawing. I'm guessing you're trying to make a tablet driver for Honeycomb?
Or, probably you're tying to make a simulated pressure sensitive drawing application with one thumb on that slider on the side controlling brush size.

From the Logo, I thought it was smoking related... like smoking a big ole reefer or something.
In all seriousness, if I may critique the logo. The colors are working great as red black and white always seem to harmonize nicely.
What I think could work better is if you got rid of some of that negative... actually empty space around the stylus. In other words, crop in closer to the actual tool. It will put much more emphasis on your focal point, the pen.
Also fix the sinuous lines coming off the tip. Right now, it looks as if you're tyring to illustrate smoke.
I think those are the only issues that I personally see. Good luck and keep us posted~

Wallpaper Collection

Seems I cant just find that one wallpaper that I really like. Ive been on the look for one that fits just right. So in light of trying to find the perfect wallpaper Ive created this thread for everyone to share that way hopefully one of us XDA members can find the right one. In the mean time Ill keep my Photobucket account updated as I go along for examples here:
This thread might be what you need. Also, if you don't mind a. having to search through a lot of random stuff that constantly changes and b. a few inappropriate pictures, I actually recommend http://4chan.org/wg/. Yeah, 4chan, the crotch of the Internet, blah blah blah. /wg/ actually has a lot of good walls.
Ive never been to 4Chan. The other wallpaper threads here though I have. Most threads are 10-15 pages long and just die off. Ive found 3, but havent had a chance to use them yet to see what I can come up with.
I've gotten all my recent wallpapers from 4chan, just stick to /wg/ and you should be fine. Some of the other boards..... disturbing.
I had a look over there and it would only let me see the last 15 pages. Nothing really caught my eye. I seem to be drawn towards the city scapes, highway/night lights, planets, vectors, some simple bi/tri colored designs, and landscaping scenes (aerial shots of Hawaii, oceans, etc.)
In a few minutes here Ill upload some of the stuff Ive found to dropbox and post a link so the rest can get the idea.
Sounds good! 4chan is kinda different, it's not a traditional forum like XDA. It only has 15 pages. If a thread isn't viewed for long enough and it goes off the 15th page, it's gone. That's how they keep content flowing through.
For some reason Dropbox wont let me get a link to my Photos folder. Not sure why.
You could just zip them and post to mediafire
Here are some of them to give you an idea. What Id really like to do is a two tone wallpaper down the middle like the last one on the list. Just a bit less jumbled up in the middle. Then I could do one set of dock colors of the left, one set on the right, and have the app drawer a different color all together right down the seam of the image.

Is it really necessary to have an entire page worth of bull**** in your signature? And then top it off with a message to NOT SPAM THE BOARD? One single line of barely-legible text followed by an entire page of stuff nobody could possibly care about? It's gotten bloody obnoxious, all these huge pictures, all these huge spaces and lists and everything else.
Oh, and the "POSTED WITH XDA APP!" and "POSTED WITH TAPATALK!!" ****... give it a bloody rest, nobody gives a damn what you're using or what you posted it from. Yes, I know that's a default message - but what kind of ******* would leave that in place? You install the stupid thing - probably just to get rid of the popups - AND YOU IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE SPAM. Who is the **** at XDA who said, "YOU KNOW WHAT GAIS WE NEED A SIGNICHUR IN OUR APP DURRRRRR".
I don't think people should get banned except for repeat offenders. Maybe some guidelines.....
(shouldn't this topic be posted in the "About xda-developers.com" forum?)
no it shouldnt most people have that even me..
he/she's probably the recognized contributor of useless signatures.
EDIT: Haha i found out who it was.. He also now has an annoying gif above the "xda-developers" gif..
I think xda should limit the amount of gifs and images you can put into your signature..

I've heard there is a limit, 4 images.
Well almost all the RCs has those same pics
The best route to air such complaints is to contact a mod, and not post it anywhere in open fora...
Anyways, I've attempted to contact the concerned rc, and we'll suggest him to use his space a little more efficiently...
And just a request, please be a little more polite in the future
I made my sig as simple as I can hence the multi-links. They should learn how to compress their sig alot better.
I gotta admit, My sig is a bit messy ;P
I don't think sigs are a problem, if you hate them that much try tapatalk 2 which doesn't seem to show them

I am still new to the forums and don't even know how to create a signature yet, but the original posting didn't seem to be that bad, just needs to be compressed a bit in my opinion.
Ok.. so the signature is a bit long.. but what beats me is the fact that you actually opened a new thread just to point this out, while you could have just reported it or PMed a Mod.
I have requested the user to shorten the signature
