An hboot with at least 250mb on system. These include stock hboot or Alpha Jelly (250/5/182) hboot
A 512mb - 1.5gb EXT partition (EXT4 recommended) on your sdcard. Use this guide to create the partition. Partitions made using other tools (CWM, Minitool Partition Wizard, etc.) will likely cause issues.
The latest TWRP (credits @Chromium) or 4EXT (credits @madmaxx82) Recovery. Old versions of CWM may cause issues.[/QUOTE]

when I install it exactly like in OP ... when it boots up I let it settle for 3-5min and then the FC's starts... Everything FC actually. Gapps , Inspire launcher , Nova Launcher , media , acore , play store and all basically anything. I do it exactly like in OP , or flash the ROM then boot the ROM , then reboot to recovery and instal gapps but still doesnt work ... When I boot it up , it just says i have no space for anything and i cant use applications , and I have no space so I wont receive SMS ... any idea?

Then please flash M2SD directly after the ROM and boot. Then reboot into recovery for flashing gapps. Which is your hboot? Stock: 250/40/147 ?

Hey @spezi77 you're working hard on different kitkat roms which I find them all Identical, don't you think its better to provide one stable and complete rom instead of many different which all contain problems? I'm not here to disappoint you, but I think all these roms could be converted to each other by only some launchers and tweaks. I hope some day I can use one of your very best roms.

True words.. no worries, it's really hard to disappoint me.
Frankly, I am just learning about Android developments and versioning while looking for the most suitable and stable kk rom for my device. I enjoy the creative process of building roms -- especially by trying out different approaches, roms and kernel mods -- and sharing the results with you. There are a lot of dev teams out there borrowing features from each other -- giving their roms quite a similar feature set (why not?). But imho there are still noticeable differences! And even if we only talk about a specific look and feel or small innovations (have you ever seen Omni? sorry for OT).
With reference to the current bugs, you should not forget that most of them are common for all 4.x roms because they depend on the kernel. :angel:
However, enough said and I guess that by now you guys got really oversaturated! I will try my best to tone it down and focus on improving what is here!

We should be graceful @spezi77 bring us many choice to choose from, and then you can select the rom you like
and be more active in that thread, then natural selection will take it course.

READ EVERYTHING BEFORE ATTEMPTING!!! COULDN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH.!
Flash the NCE kernel using NCE flasher. Don't tap on reboot after a dialog prompts to reboot (has caused me problems booting into recovery; want to make it smooth for you guys). Open up SafeStrap Recovery (I like to hit install recovery one more time just to be safe!) and press Reboot to Recovery.
Once in SafeStrap, press Wipe and perform a factory reset using the slider (don't use format data or advanced wipe as you can accidently wipe something!). Go back to Home and press Install and tap on the ROM zip. Use the slider to flash the ZIP. NOTE: when it is done flashing, you WILL see an error at the end of the script. It's because SafeStrap is using the NCE kernel. The only kernel to allow SafeStrap to work. Once it is done, DO NOT WIPE DALVIK/CACHE OR EVEN PRESS REBOOT! Press Home, tap Install and find the directory with the flashable OC4 kernel (from TMS5 thread found HERE). Once the kernel finishes installing, WIPE DALVIK/CACHE THEN PRESS REBOOT. Once you see the Welcome screen, it will be in a different language. Just change it to what you like. Also, I would recommend turning off your phone at the Welcome screen cause it does get violently hot (no idea why but mine does).
Flashfire Instructions:

Open up Flashfire and press the "+" symbol. Press on Flash ZIP or OTA. At the top, there's a choice to choose a directory with a dropdown arrow. Go to where you placed the ROM zip and tap on it. Next, press the "+" symbol and select Wipe. Choose every checkbox there is including Internal Memory* ( *if you choose to wipe internal memory, the ROM zip MUST NOT BE ON THE INTERNAL MEMORY CARD OR FACE A FACTORY RESET PHONE!). Once you press the check mark to confirm which partitions you wish to wipe, you MUST tap and hold on the wipe options to move them to the top ( you want to perform wipe first then commence with flashing the ZIP). Scroll down to the bottom IGNORING THE EVEROOT OPTIONS AND THE REBOOT OPTIONS (leave these on default settings or commence possible apocalypse!) and press on the lightning bolt button. A prompt will display. Just hit OK. After installing and you get to the Welcome screen, just the language to yours and turn off the phone because it can get violently hot!
This post probably isn't in the best format but I tried to be very detailed on my instructions to prevent mishaps and raise questions.
A HUGE thanks to komarov27 and all the other developers who put together this incredible ROM! All I did was edit files, HIS FILES, to make the ROM compatible for AT&T S5 users, nothing else. Joehen873 has also been a big help on advising me on what I should try and has redirected me to sites on how to accomplish this. If the OP could also give him credit, that would be awesome too!
Please Guys, give me a Thanks! if you are planning on downloading it! Just letting you know also, that ALL the bugs that have been found on the original AROMA ROM are also present in this NON AROMA one. Like I said before I only made it compatible with AT&T S5's which means no code editing has been done.
Oh, another thing you guys might like! There are different settings that can be chosen that I DID NOT choose. This ROM has the StockUI and S5 camera with no APN's present but I can still call, text, use data, and Wi-Fi. Within the original ROM there are options for the S5 camera, N4 camera, S6 camera, sound mods including dolbydigitalplus and viper4android, UI changes such as StockUI and AdvancedUI. AdvancedUI goes into editing of the status bar like colors and themes and such. Might be cool for some of us right? I left in the installation for Xposed framework but cannot confirm at this time if its works (somebody wanna do some testing?). Basically, fellow G900A users, we have OPTIONS as to what we want EXACTLY in v3.0 update (can't do anything about the bugs though so . . . ) If anybody sees anything they would actually WANT listed before and with the OP's permission, of course, I'll see when I can get to making those but I can't promise an ETA or anything like that. Anyways, please hit that Thanks! button. I'm glad it was only two days for myself to get this! Weren't you?

It depends on the use. But i think it's worse than stock. Try for yourself and see.
I'm overclocking the CPU to 2764 and GPU to 700. So i'm not sure how it is on stock settings.

How to install first time
Download ZIP below (download center)
Reboot - recovery (power + volume up)
Make a full backup of your current ROM and copy it to your computer to prevent issues (even make a EFS backup!!)
Wipe: Dalvik, Cache, Data, System (DO NOT WIPE USERDATA)
Install ZIP Rom (you don't need to be root to install it).
**IMPORTANT ADVISE: Sometines TWRP have issues installing .zip and get Error 7. If this happend, please reinstall ROM twice. In the second try, TWRP will can install without problems. If you still having this issue, check if in ''mount'' option, you have disabled ''system-read only''. Install again, and If you still having this issue, please, re-download the ROM (sometimes servers download to you a corrupt .zip file...).
**IMPORTANT ADVISE 2: On first boot, you will get one bootloop, THAT'S NORMAL, this is caused by ROOT, please, do not interrupt process and look how your device turns ON in 10-15 minutes. Next time you turn ON your device, it will turn ON like always .
Reboot system and wait 10-15 minutes until Smartphone load all system (only first time)

Thanks for posting on XDA! I do have to endorse that this ROM is stable. Just remember clean install, dirty flashing has lead to problems for some.

I get a crash during loading football manager 2017.
Tried everything, giving all permissions still no joy. Crashes at the same point every time.

So I'm on the 7.1.12 and I have my Gear S3 and August Smart home app(when I click sign-in button. If clicking setup it doesn't crash). Only wiped delvik when I flashed the update thru TWRP. Anyone else? Any way to fix this? Thank you

I'm about to buy the Xiaomi Mi Mix and I had some questions about using this ROM:
1. Do I need to install lithium 8.0.8 first, then install Epic ROM or can I install over whatever the phone comes with?
2. Which version of TWRP do I use?
I know a lot of this has been covered before, so I apologize in advance. I'm coming from a Nexus 6p running TwistedROM and DespairDev kernel, so I know how to flash ROMs, recoveries, etc.

I read somewhere in MIUI forum, this is a known bug and the only fix is wait for the Global ROM to be released by Xiaomi and only then the dev can fix the issue

I've the same issue with globeROM. No Alarm. I'm not in Airplane mode. Stock Alarm is used. ROM version 7.1.12

I'm not using any sort of task automation myself,but, I am using Google Clock as my alarm & I have the stock one disabled.
I'd also recommend locking the alarm app in recents (if possible), see if that helps

This rom is based on stock OneUI for Galaxy S20 FE. It is based on November patch but I assuring monthly updates whenever next month's security patch is released.

work on that is under way.
BTW this should be regarded as a lite stock rom with a couple of tweaks. it's mainly for people who flash GSI roms to come back to stock between GSIs but using TWRP rather than Odin.
it should be noted that eventual snapdragon users will also need to flash a clean boot.img so that they're not rooted as GSIs on a 3.1 base won't boot with a modified boot.img.

Hi installed, it seems to work like a charm, but everytime I boot the phone reports a System Error, you can see on the attached image.
The same error I've obtained flashing PrimeKernel. I am using an SM-G780G/DS.
I'm really sorry because the rom is fast and you've removed everything you don't need, but I don't feel like keeping it with that error. If someone knows how to fix it I'm grateful!

Add zip to either internal memory or SD card
OPTIONAL but recommended: Format data. This will erase media too.
Flash zip via custom recovery and read the on-screen information. ROM installs in 2 steps.
After step 1 is complete, you should be able to reboot to recovery and flash the zip again
Follow instructions and make the selections based on your preference

FAQ​Q: Will this work on A52s or A52 5G?
A: No, I included A52 4G specific vendor with hw libs. This will only work on A52 4G
Q: Will this work on A72 4G?
A: I have no clue. I've been told HW is very similar with a few lib exceptions but I honestly have no interest on supporting this device. Anyone else is free to try and flash and fix it for A72, you've got my support.
Q: How can I report a bug?
A: Try and be as detailed as possible on how you encountered the bug. If you can include a logcat then even better. The more information provided the more likely it is to get the bug fixed.
Q: Help, I'm getting "secure check fail :" what should I do?
A: This is usually an error produced by mismatch in bootloader and the ROM images. To fix this, the easiest way is to install the latest stock firmware or the firmware best close to the version of the ROM you want to install (install February 2023 firmware if you want to install NcX February 2023 or install stock March 2023 firmware if you want to install NcX March 2023...etc...)
Q: Why aren't OTA updates installed automatically?
A: There's a bit of unfortunate news regarding this. Current OTA updates depend on TWRP's openrecoveryscript which seem to be broken on the latest TWRP official releases on both my A52s and A52. I don't like bothering TWRP devs or maintainers so I've passed on reporting it because it's really not widely used and for some reason stuff like crDroid OTA works fine on it. It could be that I'm working with outdated code but I'm not skilled enough to fix it.
If you want to keep using the latest TWRP, the way you install OTA's is following:
Download the update when available
When pressing Install, it should reboot to recovery. If it doesn't because you don't have Magisk installed, reboot to recovery manually
Once in recovery, select Flash on TWRP or directly navigate to the following directory with OrangeFox
sdcard/Android/data/com.mesalabs.ten.update/files
Flash the zip in the directory and wait for update to finish
[Optional] Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Reboot to system
If you want to use an outdated TWRP with openrecoveryscript working fine (which I really don't recommend unless you only want to use NcX and not any other ROMs), you can install an old TWRP build which should not be used for any newer AOSP ROMs. The only benefit you'll get is that OTAs will get installed automatically.
This may be fixed in the future but for now, this is the current state of OTA updates

I've read conflicting reports about DeX from my tester group. Some say wired works, others say it doesn't but also say that wireless works. I tested it personally and it didn't for me (wireless) so idk, probably won't be able to fix it in any case
As for dolby atmos, yeah I'm sure it doesn't work. I'll have to see if I can fix it as I haven't attempted it yet.

Would Dex standalone and dolby be working soon? I want to replace this with the oneui4 port but both Dolby and Dex standalone are important to me

wait what? I'm using the S21FE OneUI4 and I have dolby on

You can turn it on but it doesn't really do anything. I've tried it on both speaker and BT earphones and doesn't increase or change volume at all.

Oh wtf this whole time I thought I'd been using dolby. Welp I'm getting this one then since it won't make a difference. But does Dolby seem fixable?

Could be as simple as replacing some libs and as hard as having to do major edits but I honestly haven't started looking into it.

Excellent your work and your custom rom!! But I found some bugs. Face unlock does not work, the phone turns off and restarts. Samsung voice recorder when starting a recording everything is perfect but when saving the recording and playing it, it says not supported. For the rest everything excellent. We look forward to the next update and excellent work
