Question battery percentage stuck at 85% - ASUS ROG Phone 5 / 5s

after the recent january security patch the phone's battery seems stuck at 85%, it charges and discharges but the battery keeps showing 85%, any fixes

Your charging limit is set to 85%
set it to 100% to full charge capacity

you can't fixit. its a motherboard issue that comesup after some software update. If your phone is in warranty I'd suggest to give it to repair or else your phone will prolly start rebooting in some weeks before it finally dies and you have to replace the motherboard

I don't believe you have lost capacity. It's only your gauge that's slightly altered. If you recharge your device fully(and about an extra 30min) you should have the regular capacity
How could going from 80% to 100% equate to a lost ???
it's posible that you'd gained the extra charges while the flashing process was going on ( because it was plugged in ?? ) ... if it wasn't ... no idea why

If i understand the post correctly they are equating am 80% to 100% a loss for 2 reasons:
1. because he would have lost charge while flashing due to the massive battery drain.
2. because now he is stating that his 100% is really only 80%
but i would probably just leave it charge overnight and you should be fine, the gauge just sounds to be off, it shouldnt be a true loss (unless the battery is bad)
Is there any other way to sync the battery with the device? I been trying a full discharge then charge.
I am using a mugen extended 3000mah battery and at 15% 10% and 1% it will stay there for some time before it starts to go down or turn off completely if it is reaches less than 1%.
I don't think you've lost capacity.
I believe you just did a quick check before flashing (and it was already charging before you started right?), and the battery gauge wasn't updated. I had this a couple of times while recharging. I take a quick look and think "this is gonna take another half hour". Five minutes latter I check and the charge led is green again.
Sometimes the battery metter lags a bit, you have to check it again to be sure when charging.
At least it happens to me.

a few cycles of full charge and discharge should put the battery meter in check...

Alrighty. I have done three so far. It has gotten better then the first time I got it. But its not perfect.
is it safe to discharge it to 0% so that it will shutdown? or what?

i535 charging problem

Hello everyone
My S3 is giving this problem lately
it used to take around 2h 40m to charge completely from zero
now it either increase percentage suddenly like 25% to 35% (does same while discharging)
or increase very fast percent to percent. and starts decreasing
I plugged it at 0% and it was 90% after 2h40m, then starts decreasing 89 88 87, currently its 86% 2h26m
What could be issue, phone, charger or battery
battery is not swollen though . its not genuine battery but first copy

As you mentioned they aren't OEM. That could be your issue. Aftermarket parts don't always work properly

tried the same batteries on another s3. works fine charge to 100%
I even tried charging while the phone is off. still it goes to 95% and then starts going down to 80s range
issue is in phone i guess. but which part it could be. usb port as it works only when phone is placed somewhere, but in hand, it will disconnect
or internal issues

Could be the charging port or the phone itself

I know it sounds crazy but I've noticed a certain charger in my home won't charge as quick as others. I'm with shapes on this. Batteries or charging port. I've got a battery for another phone that's old and does crazy things like discharging 30% instantly.

battery issue

I bought one+ two months ago everything fine but since yesterday I have battery drain very fast issue. I charge phone to 99%(don't know why but can't charge to 100%) I do nothing from 99% drop to 80% in half hour.anyone have same problem before there is anyway to fix it or where can I call one+ company for repair? ?
Is it normal that my 'cell standby' is always over 90%. I'm on 5.0.2. Thanks.

Please do the following first and then report if unsolved
Charge your battery first till 95%+ battery
Restart your device
Now use your device
Let it go down till 5% battery
Please do not plug the charger or usb in between this cycle
Then check if your issue is solved or not.

Honor 8 battery charges from 0 to 100% in few minutes

I changed the battery buying a new one on amazon, the problem was that when the phone was at low % it shut off sometimes at 20% sometimes at 40%. Ater changing battery i noticed that the problem disappeared for a week, but then reappeared, so i changed the charger and tested different cables but both charging and discharging are irregular, it charges to 100 in 10 minutes. So i ordered a new charging board on amazon, i changed it but the problem persists. Im desperate, i dont know what to do, sorry for my english. I thank anyone in advance who wants to help me.:crying:
could always try recalibrate your battery

I think you should change your phone's battery mate. I changed mine last week and it's as good as new now. Charges and discharges exactly how it's supposed to. My battery had similar issues before I changed it.
TRY CALIBRATION ?
1.Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
2.Turn it on and let it turn off again.
3.Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent.
4.Unplug your charger.
5.Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on the screen as well.
6.Unplug your phone and restart it. If it doesn't say 100 percent, plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen.
7.You want to repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without it being plugged in.
8.Now, install the Battery Calibration app, and before you launch it, make sure your battery is at 100 percent again, then restart.

He said he just put in anofher battery he bought on Amazon. I'm wondering at what point you stop buying parts for what is becoming an unsupported phone and just get another phone.

Question GW4 44mm battery won't charge past 88%

Went to charge my watch this morning. It showed fully charged while the watch was powered on. I rebooted the watch, and left it on the charger.
It was showing 88% charged.
Rebooted again, still showing 88% charged, 29 minutes until full.
It's been plugged in for at least 20 minutes and the percent hasn't changed.
on watch 4 in the dialer write this code *#0228# and do the battery calibration

Just did that. It was showing the battery percent was at 53%.
I am charging it again now to see what will happen.
Any ideas why it would report being stuck at 88%?

Is it worth factory resetting and trying again? I have some stuff disabled via ADB, but IDK why the battery would just start doing that today if the disabled stuff was messing with it.

That is good to know. I am about to sign off from work for the day, but will wear the watch and see what happens.
I wonder if it is actually charging to 88%, or it is just misreading the percentage?
There was an update to the Galaxy Watch 4 plugin yesterday, could that be causing issues?

how long have you got the watch because as soon as I got it on August 16th I had problems reading the correct% and I solved it by doing cycles and calibrations
do not discharge the battery reaches a maximum of 20% and put it under charge

Go back to wipe it, do a ****ty setup so no real personal in for is there, charge it and take it back to store and show them, and ask for a swap or refund
there is usually a 7 day test period for most warranties
even if you lost your slip you can bring the packaging along

Thanks for the info. I order it from Samsung. I'm going to mess with it for a few days, and if it doesn't improve, I'll take that route.

Okay no problem, You can try draining and charging 3 times repeated if no fix then battery or battery module is faulty
the batteries are damaged when they are completely discharged it must do a few cycles from 20% to 100%
