Hi, I'm a noob who's interested in rooting my phone. However after searching around the internet i cant seem to find a clear tutorial on my specific phone and the ones that i can find are confusing or in other foreign languages.
Therefore i kindly ask for anybody who can to please help and give me a step-by-step tutorial of how to properly root this phone so i can possibly unroot it later(?) or direct me to the best tutorial i can follow.

Hello i faced a bootloop trying to root it wich i could' nt solve .i send it to carlcare . Now it s working but no root. .be carfull
1. Enable usb debugging and allow OEM to be unlock in developers option
2. Extract/Download your stock ROM(preferably the exact build number)
3. Install magisk APK and patch your boot(or boot_a) image {visit magisk GitHub page for detailed guidep
4. Download ADB platform tools
5. Open command line on platform tools
6. Type the command
I) adb reboot bootloader
2) fastboot --disable-verity --disable--verification flash vbmeta <file path to your vbmeta img>

8. fastboot reboot

Can't I keep my custom ROM ? In my current ROM I have got key all set up. But all I need is system root, donde it doesn't work with systemless root. It is causing bootloop.

A developer see's a need to for Redmi6 Mediatec ROM he will develop, but don't wait it could never happen?
I tested lineageos15.1 and it worked, boot was ok and rom very smooth.
I will do it again as soon as I will have a day free.
A little help in the procedure would be great. I've already bricked my 6A by formatting the wrong directories, and had to go to a Xiaomi center to get it fixed. Details would be much appreciated.

Yet SIM doesn't work that well from my experience. I have to "activate" SIM signal and calls and sms won't work.
Otherwise if you still want help reply to me
I still want help. I don't want another bricked phone, that was a nightmare I just don't need right now. Please describe the whole process, from start to finish.
I did it at a moment that I had several free hours.
But now, it's too complicated for me touche find Time to do it again.
I juste followed the steps described un official TWRP github, and then install LOS15.1 Treble image.
boot, login, smooth and wifi was ok But didn't have enough Time to test with a sim for calls or data...
So I reflash stock miui 10 with miflash to find an usable phone.
Juste need a free moment to test los15.1 again and other gsi roms like aosp8.1, pixel experience, etc...

It runs tres bien on Mix3. The instructions in that article are a bit lacking, you need to flash the Chinese vendor image first from fastboot or TWRP (if you don't already have it), format data, then install the rom zip as usual (and optionally Magisk, there's a modified 18.1 version now that runs on the Mix3).

Camera dont work, random animation lag, random crash and others... unusable but works
Dont flash for daily use
Anyway it is a start and hope to be more stable for us in newer versions

Actually no .. tried Oreo and booted with many fc errors and no camera too
You can fix this I like MIUI more than Android One ;d it will be best ROM for this device. Keep trying and make it stable bro!
The MIUI-Port works with 9.6.9.0 (Oreo) as base... No FCs, but sometimes it seems a bit laggy and the camera doesn't work.
I didn't test it much, beacause it seems not stable for daily use.

Again it is not my work! but i would like you to experience this ROM. if you have any question please follow the official forum from the original thread of P8 lite (2017), but since hi6250 architecture it is work also for mate 10 lite.

I think not. Most Android 9 Roms are for Emui9 Vendor or are not flashable cause Error Codes in TWRP. Only Openkirin OmniPie works mostly bugfree for our Mate.10 lite.
Please take a couple of screenshots of the Mate 10 lite with this system installed. If possible, tell us if you encounter any bugs, especially with the camera, calling or battery.
I know most of us would appreciate it.

Both roms working on Mate 10 lite, i was using them for last week. Camera, calling quality and allmost everything working nicely. Battery is also nice.?
Ps(There r AOSP camera, not Huawei).
I found only one issue , connecting with tv (not via youtube, but directly from qs) cousing soft restart.

On the stock oreo rom I am not able to connect for mirror share with samsung smart tv. Maybe it is phone not rom issue.

On stock Oreo i was able to connect with LG web.os without any issues, which i had on any custom rom ?

I tried all possibile setings
I tested now this Rom. First flash with TWRP and full wipe with Stock Recovery but the Dot-OS its really extreme slow (Video and Games). Any Ideas why ? I am back to Stock for now.
I only got one question for this rom, does the microphone recording on Instagram / messenger / recorder work?

I tried to install the dot os by following these steps: format data, reboot, wipe data,cache,delvik,system, reboot, flash rom, reboot to system and i get stuck booting and it says "your device is now booting". I also tried doing the same thing but before rebooting to system, flash stock recovery and factory reset and then boot to system and I get the same results. I have also tried using another TWRP and the same happens. Can someone give me some help?
