Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. Download & Guide:
1. Unlock your bootloader.
2. Downloads for S23 Plus: AFH: dm2q twrp
3. Reboot to download mode
4. Uncheck auto reboot in Odin and flash TWRP in AP slot and vbmeta_disabled_R.tar in USERDATA slot.
5. Hold volume down and power until the screen goes black then immediately switch to holding volume up and power to reboot into TWRP.
6. Go to wipe, format data, and type "yes" to confirm.
7. Reboot to TWRP
8. Flash boot_repack.zip (To fix stock recovery restoration)
9. Flash magisk canary (Optional)
10. Reboot to system, Enjoy.

can't access recovery mode after flashing boot_repack.zip and reboot to the system
Power off
Volume up+power does nothing, how do I access twrp. I tried to flash it again, it works as long as I don't boot the system. I even can't access the samsung recovery
I got it working.
The phone has to be connected with the pc via usb
Please fix decryption or remove encryption. System RW is way more useful instead...

Data encryption has nothing to do with system r/w
And system r/w is not related to twrp

Flashing instructions
PROCEDURE TO FLASH CYANOGENMOD 11 ON DOOGEE DG700
STEP1: (Ignore this step if you are already on kitkat stock ROM )
Flash Kitkat stock ROM.
Please make sure your stock ROM's path doesn't have any space or the name is too long.
Open SP Flash tool and Load the scatter file MT6582_Android_Scatter.txt
Change Download Only to Firmware Upgrade.
Click on Download button and connect your phone.
STEP2: (this step involves flashing of recovery_dg700.img )
Power off your phone.
Open SP Flash tools and load the Kitkat stock ROM's MT6582_Android_Scatter.txt
Now Unselect all the options and select only RECOVERY.
Change the Location of RECOVERY to where recovery_dg700.img is located.
Now click on Download button and connect your phone.
Wait for the download to complete 100%. You will get an error, just ignore it and disconnect your phone.
STEP3:
Power on your phone and copy the ROM ( cm11-dg700-ALPHA1.zip ) to your internal sdcard.
STEP4:
Power off your phone.
Press and hold VOLUME UP + POWER button until you get a screen with three options.
Use VOLUME UP to select recovery and then press VOLUME DOWN to boot into recovery.
Now your phone will boot into recovery mode.
STEP5:
Now in the recovery mode use VOLUME UP and DOWN to Navigate and POWER button for OK.
Select Wipe and Format Options -> Clean to Install a New ROM.
Wait for the procedure to complete.
After it's done, use the Smart Key to back to main menu.
Now in the main screen, select Install Zip -> Choose zip from /storage/sdcard0
and then select the copied ROM zip file.
Now the ROM will install and after you are done, click on Reboot system Now on the main recovery screen.
It will boot into CM11 now!

Installation of TWRP
1. Download the most updated recovery to date
2. Have drivers samsung and Odin 3.09
3 . Open Odin and select AP press on it and search the file recovery-XXX-XX-XX.img.tar
4. turn off the phone and turn on in download mode (Vol-, home button, power button)
5 flash.
6 the phone will restart normally, it can be disconnected when in Odin it appears "PASS"

We finally have something other than Android!
Let me introduce: Ubuntu Touch for our phone!
Using @prashantp01's Vendor Dumpster V1.1.
This ROM is very much not ready for daily use, and probably never will, but it's still cool!
Ubuntu Touch is the touch/mobile friendly version of the popular Linux distribution, Ubuntu.
Using the steps listed below, you can boot it on your A8/A8+.

Installation:
Follow the instructions to install Vendor Dumpster V1.1.
Install the SaR Patch following the instructions.
Flash GlES_Updater.zip provided in downloads using TWRP.
Install the correct Halium boot image for your model. (TWRP -> Install -> Install Image -> Select your boot.img -> Select Boot from the list -> Swipe to flash)
(optional) Format data! (Not just simply wipe!) (This sometimes is required, sometimes isn't. If you can't boot, Try formatting then continuing from here!).
Flash the provided Ubuntu Touch ARM64 Rootfs GSI using TWRP.
Reboot to system
If you can't boot, do a hard reset a few times! (Vol Down + Power for 7 seconds)

I would like to boot it off external sdcard though, since it would be dualbooting just like that Arch Linux ARM in another thread. (searching for a OS to move on, away from Android, Ubuntu Touch is very well suited for this, pmOS too, but Unity8/mir has that look to it...)

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system which are functions often unsupported by stock recovery images. 1. With PC (Recommended) :
Copy the downloaded recovery to adb folder
press and hold shift key and right click anywher on the file explorer screen
open cmd from the context menu
then make sure you rename the downloaded recovery to recovery.img
now put the phone in fastboot mode by holding the power+vol up until you see the green screen

How to install
Make sure your bootloader is already unlocked and OEM unlock is enabled, otherwise the installation will fail.
Download and install Samsung Drivers
Download the latest *.tar for your phone
Download Odin, from example from https://downloads.corsicanu.ro/samsung/
If not done before, flash disabled VBMeta with Odin in USERDATA or CP slot (originally posted here).
Turn off your phone, connect it to PC and reboot to download mode by holding down Volume up, Volume down and power button at the same time.
Open Odin and check if your device is detected, then untick "Autoreboot" in its settings.
Put the tar file you downloaded into the AP tab
Click start and wait for the installation to finish, Odin will show PASS
Now hold down Power button and Volume down for about 10 seconds to force reboot the device
Immediately after the screen goes black release the keys and hold down Volume up and Power button at the same time until you enter TWRP (You may need to release the keys after about 20-30secs due to the "unlocked bootloader" warning)
If you properly followed all the steps you should now see the TWRP menu.
I HIGHLY recommend to flash multidisabler and services disabler right after you enter TWRP to disable forced encryption and stock recovery restoration.
