Question Custom ROM for 12s Ultra? - Xiaomi 12S Ultra

Went from Mi 11 Ultra to this, and I've noticed that the custom scene for the 12s is pretty lacking aside from the EU ROM. Just curious what it'd take to get an Elixir or even an Evolution ROM these parts.

12s pro and im waiting like you
May be this 12s series didnt go global so it didnt get more attention

...and for the record, anytime anyone spends time making a custom ROM I'm extremely respectful for that (I've been using customs since Windows Mobile 6.1). In no way am I dragging them nor implying that we're owed this. Again, I just love customs and was simply curious with this.

I have heard on the telegram chanel of 12s ultra, than some people are using the rom mi pro, but I haven't find channel or source (or only for chinese users?) and which seems to be a paid rom.
I have also trying to flash the simplicity rom, but I have a soft brick even if I pass the boot but my phone show only 0% of battery and apps were not working with only access to fastboot.
So I solve it by flashing a fastboot mui 14 rom via my pc.
Anyone have tested the mui pro or the simplicity rom ?

Just some custom miui rom. And if it still miui, i recommend u to stick with xiaomi.eu
Waiting for aosp rom, it will be so much better

It won't have it since Xiaomi didn't released the source Kernel.

LineageOS 15.1 Treble Rom ?

Still unsure if I should buy Mi Mix 2S or Oneplus 6
For me a working LineageOS 15.1 ROM are essential. With Treble this should be working already but it's pretty quiet in ROM section.
Anybody has it running ?
https://www.xda-developers.com/qualcomm-snapdragon-845-kernel-source-code/
I guess devs are waiting for this to build device-specific roms.
Some users have reported treble working with some bugs.. And there wont be any device-specific roms until the sources appear on CAF. That will happen soon.
If you need a big developer community I would go for the 1+6, if not the 2s wins (at least for me) because no notch and maybe a better camera(still waiting for tests here)

Treble device development is discussed here, some people reported that treble roms on our phones are working fine with minor bugs (screen blinking on lock/unlock, no support for second camera). I am yet to test these, since my mix 2s is still awaiting bootloader unlock.

Have seen some relatively direct comparisons and the mix clearly has the better camera.
Im also keen to see a Lineage OS build but havent seen much discussion on it or heard any devs that are working on it. I have just onlocked and rooted my phone after waiting the 15 days.
I wonder when more Mi Mix 2s enter the global market, developers have waited 15 days to unlock phones and source code released from Qualcomm that we will see more activity on custom roms.
You can install lineage via treble right here https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...evice-development/lineage-phh-treble-t3767690

Yes, I am aware of that but certain features of the Mi Mix 2s do not work with this version (dual camera for example)

It took almost 6 months for the Mi Mix 2 to get decent, stable, bugfree custom AOSP roms. Now they have plenty. I guess we will just have to be patient.
Would be nice to get some custom MIUI roms in the meantime though

If you take a look here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/qualcomm-snapdragon-845-kernel-source-code/
You will know when it will be possible for devs to start working on our device
I'm new to this treble topic and have a few questions.
Those ROMs are intended to be flashed on ANY device being delivered with Android 8 or higher, right?
I read that some functions will not work as they are not a part of the treble environment. Can anyone tell me which parts of he phone this could on our model?
Has anyone already flashed the pixel experience rom on a Xiaomi MiMix2S? Will anything be broken? E.g. Bluetooth, WiFi, camera, storage?
The kernel is already published if I read that correctly, so it´s just a matter of time before any stock aosp roms will come to our devices, right? Can´t wait - and get rid of MIUI!
Need advice!
Best regards

Main features are all fine, you will find camera not great and 2nd camera not supported, most report treble ROMs having not great battery. But it will work.
M.
Thanks for the advice!
I think I'll wait for now until the Devs work their magic and publish a stable version with all the bells and whistles!
Is there any possibility to install a stock treble rom and install the camera APK afterwards? Would this work?

It will not work. The functionality of the camera is not just related to the APK but also depends on framework and libraries.

[Request] MIUI 10 for OP6

Hey dev,
I'm looking for MIUI 10 Global for my OnePlus 6.
As the MIUI 10 Global stable rom rolled out on Mi8 and others Xiaomi's flagship, i'm asking if a dev can do it.
I think there is a lot of ppl looking for this rom on OP6, and i can't find it.
And remember guys, "GeT A PoCoPhOnE" is the dumbest awnser possible.
Thx you
Just curious, isn't miui one of the heaviest bloated skins? What would make you want that over OxygenOS?
Curious why we want heavy rom if we have Oxygen which is very powerful, clean. My friend using Mi and its heavy bugs a lot bloatware.
One word:
Flashaholic.
We love flashing and can get tired of using the same ROM/UI again and again.
OxygenOS is close to stock android, so all the AOSP ROMs looks similar to OxygenOS.
I would love to use a different UI/UX on my OP6, just for a change.
I would actually flash a stable MIUI 10 ROM, or even Samsung Experience UI
Curious to try also.
Enjoy !

Sorry my explanation are bad...(and my english too) i just want to know which STOCK (eu or global) rom is better and what number/reference...
Hi
I tested several solutions, at least the better stock, fastboot rom is the indonesian version, as far as today, V12.0.4.0.QJKIDXM, it has miui stock call application, with call record, but it has NOT all features of the MIUI stock gallery filters and it has a very nice keyboard that I was not aware of its existence .
For my personal feeling, it runs smoother than the miui.eu rom. I'm waiting for an android 11 stable version of this rom, but for now I'm very happy with it
I need to re-lock the bootloader, because, if not, I can't install an official version of an application that I need, and even if I could do it with the miui.eu rom, I finally took this one
I don't root the phone, at least I need root only for the adblocker, but I can use DNS66 from fdroid with the same results, and I can debloat the firmware from google crap with a batch file in in usb debug mode, so I'm living happily with it.
Global Version With the (Miui Launcher Module & Magisk) is the smoothest experience and the most stable
EU= Full of New features and customization but the battery is not that perfect the global is better and more stable
Thanks for your response have you a build number to recommand for the global?
For now i don't know how to install magisk or twrp on this phone i will try in few days but if you have some advice?

Thus rom is based on Xiaomi.eu wich is based on stock Xiaomi rom, it have all stock from MIUI from camera plus extra settings that only have Chinese ROM to dialer and message from MIUI
I can only recommend Xiaomi.eu stable and weekly builds for MIUI based ROMs.
For AOSP I'd go EvoX but it's been a while since last release and I believe that was Android 10.
I think it's unwritten blasphemy to ask anything relating to if it's being worked on at all but the only info I could get is that the next EvoX for lmi will be Android 11.
I think we can surmise that the time being taken has to do with ensuring stability and also quite are few Devs were recently in and out of exams.

Weekly are Beta ROMs with new features and bug fixes every week. Stable is basically an older Weekly that was tested sufficiently by Xiaomi to be considered stable .
Sometimes with important bugs, sometimes without.
I went from the last stable to the last weekly(miui 12.5) and it works really well.

now with crDroid 7.3, my phone have 9h SoT between 95% to 30%
Tried CRDroid, the battery not so good, but I read its because pocket detection. Also, GApps for A11 has many issues (maps, auto, third party apps that rely on maps, etc), revert to stock global even before able to test pocket detection disabled. Battery on stock A11 global is very good, but its has so many bugs. Tried xiaomi.eu weekly, almost no bug and able to keep A11 stock battery performance. It's my daily driver now.

Hey, I've been using custom roms for the past month, I've used ricedroid 3.5 for about a week and a half then I tried some other roms and now I've been using evo x 6.6 for about 4 days already, they are very usable as a daily driver. They have more performance than miui and a little bit less stability but custom roms are definetly worth it.

Wow this list is great! I am using the POCO X4 Pro Veux variant. I was able to use the latest SparkOS listed and used the instructions given on that Telegram page to flash the ROM. My phone is actually useable now. I had numerous issues with the default MIUI ROM including dropped SMS and phone calls that would never be received. I suspected software issues and now with latest SparkOS 12, this device works flawlessly. Been using it for a week now without issue. Seems very stable too. Only issue I have seen was a small problem with the task manager switching when using certain home screen browser pages. I can live with that.
The only downside I have seen with these ROMs so far is that a full factory reset of the SD must be performed each time and there is no easy way to perform updates as of yet via the Recovery.
Thanks so much for providing this. I have been wanting to flash a new ROM for such a long time and the device has just been sitting on my desk. Thanks again!
