Accessories Cases - Which One? - Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus

I normally buy an OEM case for my phones and will probably stick to this, however I am always open to change.
So do you normally get a case for your phone? If so which one?
Or do you not bother with a case and just go "vanilla"?
Let me know your thoughts and if you can lets see some pictures of your case if you have one.

I'd prefer going without a case but manufacturers make them so damn slippery I can't risk it.

I always get a case from aliexpress besause it's cheap and does the job. also screeen protectors

I've had my S23+ for just over a week now and this case seems to be the right choice considering price and protection.

$17.99

For people who love minimal cases, the Spigen Thin Fit for the S23+ is really nice ! Good protection without bulk.
However I have also ordered the "memumi Ultra Slim" on amazon, it looks like something between a "cover" and a case.... I should get it in the weekend.

Caseology Parallax or Ringke Onyx?

I got 2

and the official soft silicone one in lavender from the samsung site. Both are pretty good. £34 for a case is pretty steep though for the official one.

I ended up getting a Samsung original black leather case

I went for original samsung leather green case and it is awesome. I got code when buying it on samsung site lowering price of case to 1$ so I took it. Probably wouldnt go for it if I need pay full price, but its definetely best case I had but I always used low price spigen/ aliexpress cases.

I bought the Eiger Avalancha
Eiger Protection - Schweiz

But the Fingerprint is not working so im still searching for a Full body case where fingerprint is working.
Also, the Sound Output is pretty dull, and the on-Phone calls Volume has to me on the Top to hear good. In Terms of Security, you can't get something better. Fully Closed, water-resistant and so on.
Makes the phone little heavier but I don't mind that at all.

I got the OEM rugged case. Should be here next week. I usually go with an aftermarket rugged case.. but Samsung gave me credit to get it lol

When in Doubt, Get the Diztronic TPU Case.

I've had a few cases so far. Ringke Flex and the Spigen Neo Hybrid.
I had the Spigen the longest, for maybe a month. It looks great, but the square design gets to be very uncomfortable and hard to reach areas of the phone while in use. The buttons are incredibly responsive. Which is a plus for casual use, not a plus when you don't want them to be as responsive, either in pocket or using as a camera. The Ringke Flex I had for a week. The case is a very nice fit, but the buttons are almost rock hard to push, the back is slippery due to an odd design, and the case still adds an extended bulk which is kind of strange.
My prior phone was a Galaxy Nexus, and had a Diztronic case after following up on great Amazon reviews. For whatever reason, I thought I would get something more visually appealing and fancy for this device.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JQMDGG8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
In the end, I just went back to where I started. Unless you are one of those people who enjoy having a very bulky case (Lifeproof/Otter) for max protection, the Diztronic TPU case is a very nice slim fit, has the best matte finish I've seen for people with sweaty hands or just enjoy a better grip, and the phone physically still looks very appealing. The buttons are also the most tactile and responsive I've seen on the cases to date. Anyone looking for something minimalistic, but has some protection which is not over the top, you can do far worse then spending $10 on this case. Cannot recommend enough.
*Unfortunately tried to take photos, but my best camera is the one on the S5!

Technically, it does not fit the OEM wireless cover. However, I used a heat gun to stretch mine out, and the fit is OK, though not perfect. You can still see a little bit of the silver on the sides of the phone. The volume and power buttons work fine. I've been using the case now for over a week and there are no functionality issues.
Not familiar with the other backing myself. Like the other poster mentioned, it's a nice tight fit, so some finagling may be required to get it to work.

I agree. I had the Diztronic on my Nexus and the S5 case is even nicer. If you want something that will give a measure of protection without putting your phone in a hermetically sealed pickle jar, Diztronic is the answer.
Thanks guys! I don't come on XDA as often as I used to, but I was browsing the accessory thread this morning to do some research as to the demand of a case that will work with the wireless charging door. Nice start to my morning to find this thread!
It sounds like quite a few people want a case that will work with the official samsung charging door and their S5. I didn't make it before as my thinking was can't they just put a Qi receiver pad under their stock door and use any case they want? I guess the problem with that is it won't seal tight enough to keep water out. So a case that fits the wireless door is needed.
I'll think it over today. But I think there is a good chance well make a new case specifically for the wireless charging door. I'll post an update on our website if we do.
I would buy one. Already own diztronic case for s5 and s2. I think many of us would prefer a matte front (same finish as the back). The shiny black plastic all consumer electronic manufacturers are using looks cheap with reflections, scratches, and fingerprints.
Samsung should have included wireless charging in the s5 along with a magnetic charging port like the Nexus 10 pogo, and front speakers. Instead we have a worthless heart rate sensor.
We could try a matte front, I just don't think it looks as nice against the glossy screen. In my opinion the glossy lip blends better next to the display, almost like you don't even have a case on. Unlike our competitors that have recently started offering similar style cases as ours, only our front lip is glossy. Their cases the entire top half is glossy, similar to our old S2 case.
The S5 wireless charging door case could be a good model to test full matte on though.

That's not a TPU case. It contains TPU on the inside, buts it's a dual layer two piece case with a polycarbonate shell. it's basically exactly the same as our Reactor case for the GS5. It's a fine case, but personally I don't like dual layer cases on my phone. Too bulky. According to that page you linked it weighs 5 ounces! That's a tank compared to a 21g TPU case. It's a totally different class of product then a traditional single layer TPU case. It also does appear to "borrow" heavily from UAGs design. I really hate it when companies do that, but it is what it is, happens in every industry.

I prefer to think of it as the screen protectors not being compatible with cases I think it's far more common for someone to only have a case than to only have a screen protector. The vast majority of people using screen protectors will also use a case. However many use a case but no screen protector. Given that, companies that make screen protectors should do a better job making sure their products can be used with a case.
To answer your question (somewhat) , I used a tempered glass SP on my old S4 and one of our cases. It was a bit of a stretch, but after a day or two it fit well enough. I haven't tested it on an S5 however. We are going to start adding a small amount of depth to our cases in the future, likely 0.25mm to better accommodate thick screen protectors. We have to be careful that the case still fits well for those that don't use screen protectors. The new OnePlus One is the first case well be testing this on.
Ive had this case for my S3. Wonderful case and great price.
Unfortunately, they dont ship to the Netherlands. I really want this one

Best M9 Case/Screen Protector list

Accessory makers are now setting up pre-orders for M9 case, cool and best cases are now showing up in tech shopping sites ItsSkins, Spigen RooCase and other companies already started to offer cases.
Just share here your best founding here.
I am exciting about the new m9
Will do a rank of the case, many reviews, I really hope I can help people to find out the proper cases meet the needs
Ill buy tech armor protectors and a diztronic or tech impact 21 black case. Thats what i had for my m8.
http://mimeusa.com/ has added HTC One (M9) to their dropdown menu listing HTC phones they have tempered glass screen protectors for. The link doesn't go anywhere yet but it pretty much confirms that they'll be making screen protectors for it. I'm planning on getting the 0.15mm Feather Glass screen protector. (I'm hoping it will be the Feather+ Glass with rounded edges that they have for iPhone 6)
I'm not sure yet. I might start with one of the official cases and get a Spiegen on discount.
It's so hard to tell for screen protectors until there are some reviews.... Like with the iphone 6, like NONE of the companies had a good screen protector for my daughter's phone for about a month after the phone came out
htc m9 glass screen protectors
i have been using the following brands for years and can vouch for them both
Casebase
Orzly
I can see links on amazon for both companies.
http://www.amazon.com/Orzly®-Temper...&keywords=htc+m9+orzly+glass+screen+protector
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CaseBase®-P...425420774&sr=8-1&keywords=htc+m9+glass+screen
I hope this helps. The casebase twin pack is really good value. Iv always trusted Orzly because i like there cases. Both companies have a good range of cases online as well
I will buy ivoler case,I once bought the iVoler dot view case for my M8, I absolutely love it. I work for Sprint and I use my phone all day everyday between work and at home. I have to say it has the "wow" factor as well as very usable gestures. I have used several flip case's like this in the past and have had up and down thoughts about them, however this is the best out of all that I have used. Some reviews say that it makes the phone awkward to use with the flap open, however in all honesty anytime you use a case like this its not the same as a naked phone or regular case. The rubber that makes up the front is very soft and is easy to manipulate while folded back, and I have had no problems with it staying flat on the screen. I have carried the phone in levi's as well as slacks and the rubber surprisingly doesn't grab or make it hard to go in and out of the pocket. I did receive the gray case not the black, however I believe the warm black was intended to be this color. I would highly recommend this case to anybody, you will not be dissatisfied unless you have never used a flip style case and at that point you may not like it. Well worth the try and the money!!!
Came across this video on YouTube, features quite a few cool cases. You might want to pause the video to read up on the pros and cons as it goes a little too quick.
I'm hoping for the dot view to come out soon, if not I'll go for a fusion, love that it shows off the back of the phone.
I have used a few of the Aerios branded screen protectors recently and they seem quite good.

IMO Incipio and Spigen make the best cases out of any manufacturer. Sure Otterbox and a few others make cases that provide more protection, but when it comes to quality & style Spigen and Incipio are King.

What S6 cases is everyone using?

I'm using a vintage stylish back cover along a SGP tempered glass(9H) for the screen protection,it's good so far,for I'm not get used to the flip cover or wallet cover,it's not convenient as the brief cover as coming calls&messages, which makes it wired and also no good for video watching and daily usage. Besides, the case also with double wallet slot on the back for credit cards etc.,and two slots is enough. The slim design also enjoy another 10 scores, fine match the S6's thickness without make your device a clumsy one.

Is it genuine leather case? Doest it protect the camer (i.e. have a lip near camera or just thicker than the camera)? Is it soft enough inside or is it plastic inside?
I think I could go for it if there were no card holders)
Edit: found it cheaper on ebay. I think I'll order one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Rea...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item20fa6c88e2

Spiegen neo-hybrid here. Minimal bulk, great grip and feel with metal buttons. I myself feel that screen protectors are unnecessary anymore, as todays gorrila glass does well enough to protect from scratches. A screen protector isn't going to stop a drop-shatter anyways. The neo is the best looking and thinnest of the 5 cases I have, all while providing two-piece drop protection.

I respect your view on tempered glass, I have heard a lot of good things about it. Unfortunately for me, it didnt work so well the one time I needed it to. As far as cases go, the hybrid is about as thin as a current generation (protective) case could be. If you want any thinner, why would you use a case at all?

That's an excellent question, sir!
Firstly, I beleive it will still save the back glass from shattering if I drop my phone (and I know I will drop it some day, always happens to me when after the honey moon I become more and more careless with the new toy).
Secondly, I afraid to much for the camera lens, which just waaaay too protruding to be safe, imo and also very weak according too AndroidAuthority review. (rly samsung? for 700 bucks your could not go for saphire glass on the protruding camera lens?)
My concerns with the camera lens are the same as yours, but we can't change the design of the S6. I don't think sapphire lense would help too much either. More costly, interferes with clarity, and still breaks.
I'm using the UAG case. Love this thing. Very very slim and provides the best protection for my phone out of all the cases I've owned. UAG cases might be on the top end of costs ($30-35) but it is built to last
I used a Spigen neo hybrid, but I ended up with a UAG as well

This leather sleeve which fits perfectly. Pretty tight actually, so no risk of your phone falling out I guess. Great quality leather and finishing I must say, they're all handmade. Price is a bit steep but you do get what you pay for and honestly, if you spend this amount of money on a phone you might as well spend some money on protecting it.
I thought about buying on of those Spigen cases which look slick, but then I thought; Samsung finally made a phone with a finish worth looking at and holding in your hand when using it, why hide that in a case?

Otterbox Defender Pro For Note 9

I was going to get the clear view case from Samsung but Best Buy didn't have any when i picked up my phone but they had the Defender Pro so i got it instead. It's pretty nice i do prefer the screenless Otterbox cases so its nice there is no plastic over it! Don't know why they brand it a Pro case it's the same as any other Defender 2 layers and comes with a holster.

It's got a antimicrobial coating on it i guess. I was looking on Otterbox.com and they aren't branded Defender Pro on there it just says Defender and they don't have the same back with the bars its just the standard back. So idk if the "pro" is a Best Buy thing or what
My local AT&T Corporate store had 10 Samsung Clear View cases on the shelf. I think it was $40.

Secondly, I never trusted cases with hard inner shells. A bit of sand or dirt will run riot on the glass back or frame edges of the device.

Buying a case from Best Buy is crazy. That should NEVER be an option. Their prices are high as isht! I saw a basic clear rubber/plastic cover on their website for $44.95. Many of their cases are the same ones sold by chinese manufacturers. They're just rebranded.

Here we are 2 years later; I just purchased this case for $17 from an ebay seller (still in its box w/ clip) for a Note 9 N9600 (International Unlocked) I bought a month ago (512gb version brand new in box still for under $500). Both the phone and case are great. The hard inner shell's inner back is cushioned w/ what amounts to a "mini-mattress." The case feels good in the hand. Only drawback is one can't see the phone's elegance... but for someone as paranoid as I am about a glass phone, that's a small loss. The screen isn't super well protected if dropped on an uneven surface where a rock sticking up or whatever could strike the screen in spite of the ridges at the case's ends. But I'm willing to risk that much; the rest of the case is great, and most surfaces I encounter are floor-like w/o rocks/uneven surfaces and the case would more than suffice.
For the Note 9 Screen check out the LOCA glue tempered glass option. It's about the clearest and best straight forward screen protector you can get for curved displays. I think it may not work with the otterbox due to the extra size protecting the curve. Personally I would stick the LOCA tempered glass on and then stick another thick flat tempered glass on top of that. It's virtually guaranteed people will crack these curved screens, and very expensive to repair them!
Does Qi Charging and NFC work with the Otterbox case on?

Sometimes, I've noticed only the magnetic ones work
Thanks. The NFC not working would be the bigger problem. I don't want to try and get my note 9 out the otterbox each time at the till.

Okay folks - got the Otterbox defender today and can confirm it seems to work fine with NFC (Samsung Pay/Google pay) at local supermarket till. Also can use a wireless charger on it - but have to place the charger carefully in one spot nearly over the back cameras to work, so barely worth the effort. I can see why people rave about the case - its got a lovely grippy outer TPU skin and the screen is well protected by top and bottom lip projections . Buttons work great and ports are well protected. Makes the phone bigger but I find it easier to grip and use. I can absolutely believe it will survive any fall. This is well armored. Needs a Film protector for the screen though, I want it so keys and change will not hurt it. I fear a glass protector won't work, because its so tight and secure.
Previous phone was a Samsung Galaxy S7 in a clear TPU case. I dropped it by accident 1 & 1/2 feet off a coffee table and smugly thought 'Thank god I have it in a case not like those other idiots!'. I then picked it up and found it had hit a corner and the display had cracked a tiny bit and went permanently dark. Could not believe the phone screen was broken due to the tiny drop and being in a case.
Corner protection is essential. The Note 9 is massively protected in this. I doubt a 10 foot drop would hurt it! Well pleased with it! Even have the belt carry unit with it but doubt I will be using that. The case on its own doesn't add too much bulk and can still slip it into front trouser pocket. Being slightly heavier gives it inertia so it also hard to drop. Recommend.
A year later and this still is a great case for the Note 9.
Simply buy a cheap Loca Note 9 'tempered' glass screen protector, make sure its as perfectly positioned before exposing to UV, and the otterbox case CAN fit around it.
I have tried 2 screen protectors so far - the first piece of tempered glass was not positioned properly, I UV set it (with the sun outside) and a bit of the glass cracked off along the edges when the case was fitted (not the screen just the tempered glass protector) but it was still fine for use for months.
Because the glass protector was not positioned properly over the front camera, it didn't give me a great selfie, so I bought another loca temperted glass protector and peeled the old one off.
This time I fitted it perfectly. TOTAL PROTECTION. It's great! NFC works fine, Samsung pay, NFC tags etc....

The case with a good case.

What case do you use for the P30 Pro?
Of course you want the nice back of the phone to be visible.
But you also want protection.
And a built-in option for a magnetic car mount would be great to.
Show here the covers/cases you have found, tried and love (or hate)
I just ordered the Spigen Neo Hybrid. I have used Spigen cases for the last 2 years and the quality is outstanding.

Hi, I too have very good experience with Spigen, as they use thick material in order to protect the lenses on the back side. Never had any problems with their cases on Huawei since my first mate-9 (bought a new one every year, mainly because of the camera and dual-sim ).
Got this one already but havent seen my newly ordered P30pro yet here in Spain:

This is the one Im thinking on buying. Doesn't cover up the colour, magnetic for phone holders and has. Ring so you don't drop it. Looks good?

Stock Silicon Case from Huawei in route from amazon.co.uk.... it's like the iPhone case made by Apple.... Lint and everything tends to stick to it but your hand does as well plus great overall protection... I'm getting the black phone so putting the black case is no big loss... main reason to "bet on black" and not the other crazy colors then worry about sporting a clear after market case or caseless.

It looks nice but I ordered a blue phone so don't want to hide it.
I ordered one of the cheapy magnetic glass ones from ebay. Seems well built etc. but waiting for phone to arrive tomorrow before I make a comment on it.
I ended up getting this one.
Olixar for Huawei P30 Pro Bumper Case - Hard Tough Slim Cover - [Clear Panel] Design for P30 Pro (2019) - Shock Protection - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MNH8FKB
I was going to get one from AliExpress. They looked nice, but we're cheap so probably thin and no protection. Didn't sem right paying a couple bucks for something that is protecting a $1000 phone.
I like this one because you still see the colour and it has good bumper protection if you drop your phone.
I bought the Huawei silicone case, just to have something until I will find a case I really like, and it is standard matte silicone, nice color (I got the blue one), I prefer these matte silicone cases over the glossy plasticky ones, but only as last resort. I paid 15 EUR, which is tiny bit lower than Samsung would charge, which is also nice, but the quality is not as good. Under the power button I can see a thin line where the silicon will slowly tear up, and it has a little bump underneaeth and generally doesn't look and feel very well on the right side.
I just wait for Nilkin air/frosted cases to arrive in my shop, after years of spending money, big money, on cases, I find these cheap Nilkin cases to be the best alternative if there is not a good leather or alcantara OEM alternative. I have both frosted and Air case for my note9, ane the compact size and grip/feel of Frosted cases, and the comfort and design of air cases for 5 damn EUR is unbeatable. I usually also slap a dbrand skin on my phones, don't want to always carry it in a case, but with this huge camera bump on p30p I will likely always have it cased.
I like a case to be not too thick and ruin the shape and feel so until I got my Honor V10 I never used a case but now need one due to risk of child.
Currently I have a semi solid shell and I ordered a similar fro P30P to see how it looks and feels.
I also ordered a couple of different Spiegen cases and one of those open back ones that wraps around the corners.
I'll try them all and return what I don't like.
I don't want to pay €35 for an official Huawei one.
Anyone fancy using skins to cover their P30 Pro? Hit us up.
Spigen for ever! For my latest phone (S9+ and now P30 Pro) I have chosen the Ultra Hybrid Crystal (back in hard plastic and edges in TPU with corners bumpers). With Spigen tempered glass too, the P30 pro is now inside an iron barrel...
Using Spigen Neo Hybrid and i think it is great

Take a look at Spigen Slim Armor! It has good protection of the photo lenses and a built in stand. Mine has a number L37CS25934
I have used this for quite many years without any trouble.
