[Q] Is there any way to convert an EE (UK) S6 to 100% stock, with updates?

I've tried flashing BTU - the SIM free firmware - with ODIn, and whilst it seems fine, updates don't seem to work. I have factory reset after every flash yet still software updates don't work. I know this because the version of BTU firmware I flashed was at least three versions old. When I check for updates I just get 'your software is up to date' - yet there are at least three newer versions of BTU on Sammobile.
The only thing I can think is that the low-level Computrace software that Samsung allegedly puts in their firmware is messing with the updates server. I know that Computrace still exists in the App Manager when I flash BTU. I've also just flashed 5.1.1 and it's still there.
I'd like to know if anyone with an EE S6 has managed to successfully get updates after flashing to a stock ROM, or if EE have crippled it. I wouldn't mind using EE's firmware as there is next to no bloatware; but their updates are horribly slow.
I should point out that I have never rooted the phone and the KNOX counter is not tripped. I've only ever flashed official firmware.
Thanks.
It could be your CSC is still pointing to EE and not BTU?
Nope, CSC shows as BTU when I boot into recovery.

Can't flash with ODIN, can't mount firmware or modem

Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P)
So, this all started with me trying to downgrade from lollipop to kitkat using ODIN.
ODIN shows:
FAIL! (Auth)
My phone says:
SW REV CHECK FAIL: [aboot] fused 3 > binary 1
After trying a bunch of things, I went into recovery mode/ and formatted everything, including firmware/modem.
Now, II was able to get a ROM running by installing through sideload, but it says invalid sim. This is the factory sim that came with my phone.
I've already tried another working sprint sim, and same result. So I know its not the card.
Also, when II go into recovery/mount and unmount/ it shows firmware and modem unmounted. When I try to mount them, it gives an error.
I thought to flashfirmware, but Odin fails every time.
Help!

My guess your phone firmware is od3 or newer. Since this is probably true it means you cannot downgrade to kit kat or any firmware older then the current one. I would suggest downloading the latest firmware which OK4 or something to that affect. It was release like maybe a week ago or so. Odin that which shouldn't fail. That should get you able to get her running. I am not sure why you'd want go back to running Kit Kat but you'd want to root the phone or re-root. Then flash a KK ROM only flash. Which would probably have to be a custom one. That might work.

Thanks for responding!
I wanted to downgrade to try an unlock method that requires 4.4.2 or earlier. But know I just want my phone back in proper order.
I found out I was using OA6. Three versions have come out since. I am downloading the latest one now (OG1). I'll let you know if it works.
You were right, a new version came out on 12/2 (OK4). I downloaded it and it flashed over! No errors!
But, it is still is not reading the sim. I can only get 3G connectivity. No LTE. I still cannot mount the firmware or modem in philz touch recovery.
Any ideas?

theres a dialer code that will reset the entire modem and all data. you may have to reactivate in the settings menu after. (takes 10 secs to reactivate as long as you are not roaming)
if all else fails. go to phone dialer type in ##SCRTN# it will reset your entire data profile. good luck

You did download the drivers for odin? Probably did but I'm just trying to cover everything. When trying to update firmware:
Make sure you get a good download.
Unzip your file and move the Tar file to your desktop.
Make sure debugging is on on your device.
Dnt use a cheap usb cord
Fire up odin
Power your device down completely. Even try a battery pull then do the 3 button combo. Power/vol down/home button all at the same time to get into download mode
Plug in your device and a com number should appear in the upper left indication box.

[HELP] SM-G930F stuck in boot loop after flashing wrong stock firmware

A while ago, I installed TWRP and then flashed Pixel Experience (herolte) onto my SM-G930F, but experienced some problems with it, namely random freezes and temporary boot loops, and decided to revert back to stock firmware.
I accidentally flashed SM-G930FD firmware instead of SM-G930F firmware, and now I am unable to re-flash and get out of a boot loop. I can boot into download mode and ODIN recognizes it, but whenever I boot into recovery mode, it will crash within the first 5 minutes (sometimes instantly, other times I can use it for at most 5 minutes before it crashes and reboots).
When trying to flash the correct firmware, I get revision check errors, with the device number being one above the binary number.
Is there any way to fix this, or should I give up? Can provide more information as necessary.
Edit: I believe the problem may be that I flashed an Android 9.0.0 firmware, and stock firmwares for the device are at latest 8.0.0. I am also unable to re-flash Pixel Experience, though, as TWRP crashes mid-flash every time.

Hi, thank you for the reply.
The region of the phone was BRI/TGY (for some reason it was able to be either?) After searching, I couldn't find any SM-G930F firmware for these regions, which leads me to believe that despite the model being shown as SM-G930F in download mode, it might've actually been an SM-G930FD?
The FD firmware I flashed was G930FXXS4ESC7 (TGY).
I believe the device came with FD firmware? My memory may be tricking me but I believe when I checked with Phone Info SAM, the model showed up as SM-G930FD, with the firmware G930FXXS4ESC7 (but may be misremembering).
I can definitely enter download mode with an 100% success rate, and crashes do not occur while in download mode.

Hi there, the firmware you have flashed is the latest version for Hong Kong and Taiwan so it is correct if your device is G930FD.
G930FD is dual SIM right? G930F is single SIM. However G930FD WILL work on a G930F device but G930F WILL NOT work on a G930FD
G930F = Europe and Canada
G930FD = Far East and Asia
On Sammobile website there is an earlier version of your firmware G930FXXS4ESB5, try this one instead and you can only use firmware which is "S4" G930FXXS4ESB5
Try flash it again

Thanks for the reply! I'll try it again using that firmware.
Also, I checked the SIM slot, and it says SIM1 and SD/SIM2, so I think it's a SM-G930FD. Weird that it says SM-G930F in download mode, is that based on firmware?

Okay, I tried flashing G930FXXS4ESB5, and ended up with the same error, being that the device version is higher than the binary version. (5 vs 4 for bootloader)
At this point I don't think the error has anything to do with the fact that I flashed different firmware, but rather that the version of the bootloader, kernel, etc. are patched higher than the firmware, but there is no Android 9.0.0 firmware that I can flash.

The flash passed, but now (as before), the phone simply comes up with "Error!" once installing system update finishes, followed by another reboot and no command.

Ok when no command comes up reboot to system recovery and choose wipe/ factory reset and reboot.
No command means the firmware has worked just needs a final factory reset

That's where the unfortunate final problem comes in, in that the recovery menu will freeze within about 10 seconds of reaching recovery mode, sometimes even before getting past "#MANUAL MODE 1.0.0#" and rebooting automatically. The time seems to be almost random, but I've never been able to perform a factory reset. The furthest I get is formatting /data, even leaving that overnight, it was definitely frozen.
Edit: I managed to perform both a factory reset and cache partition wipe, but still get "No Command" when booting the phone.
Edit 2: Nevermind, apparently factory reset and cache partition wipe worked! I can now boot successfully and the phone works. Although I still have the problem with random freezing and reboots, it's better than a bricked phone. Thank you!
