After updating system to android 12 now I can watch movies from my GoPro 9 in 4k 30 FPS without any glitch in VLC player .
Standard Xiaomi player still don't support 4k .
Can someone test it on his phone ?

Hi all ,
Has anyone tried to play 4k videos?
The videos them self play just fine but , when I check the resolution in both console and mirror mode, my tv says it 1080 .
The spec do list 4k ready.
Hi,
the latest versions of VLC are able to play with no issues 4k contents, you can get the nightly builds directly from here: http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/android-armv7/
Otherwise the new version MX Player Pro v1.7.31 supports now the K1 natively but it crash often, I tested it.
As far as I see some video are played directly smoothly with the built-in player.

it plays 4k video but does it display in 4k? i have a sieki 65 4k tv and when i connect my shield tablet to the TV it says 1080p 60hz when i press display button on my tv, this is outside of any video player. I know it can play the some samsung 4k sample clips i have but its not true 4k since it crops some of the video.
I already own a Shield TV 2017 (with two 4tb hdd) connected to Yamaha av and 75" uhd tv...only video player IAM using is MX...1.9.8
Simply fantastic...
Got used to Mx that every other player is ****...
Really interested in Apple 4k TV for Dolby Vision..
Is there any chance of seeing Mx in IOS
Thanks
can it play 4k hevc 10 bit videos has anyone tested those jelly fish videos on it ?
Anyone else getting video issues after the Android 10 update on the Mi Note 10 Pro? Watching videos on Facebook and Instagram seem more blocky and pixelated. Transcoding videos also reduces quality. I can't event upload stories to instagram. longer than one clip. It cant cut clips.
Its it just me?
So I am comparing Pixel 2 and iPhone 7 (which is older than the Pixel 2, by the way) video playback and I am noticing frame drops/skips when playing 60 FPS content.
I am comparing videos found on Hilzu's YouTube channel, which look absolutely amazing on Pixel 2 AMOLED screen compared to the iPhone 7. I have tried playing back 60 FPS videos on:
Google Photos
VLC
YouTube
miXplorer Player
And they all seem to stutter, or sometimes "chug" and slowdown randomly at times. And as miXplorer Player shows, it is using hardware decoding, which should not be having any problems.
Meanwhile, iPhone 7 plays .mp4 1080p @ 60 FPS files natively without a problem or any frame skips, and it can play 1440p @ 60 FPS .mkv files using VLC, which, I believe, uses SOFTWARE decoding on the iPhone 7, but still manages to have no slowdows or frame drops at all!
Can someone tell me what is going on, or recommend a good video player app?
Thanks.
