You need to be on 60Hz refresh rate before applying these steps
Step 1 : Install "SetEdit" app from play store
Step 2 : Select 120Hz refresh rate option (Settings > Display > Refresh Rate)
Step 3 : Open "SetEdit" app and open "System Table" from drop down menu
Step 4 : We need to change these values
Select "min_refresh_rate" > Edit Value > 90 > Save Changes
Select "peak_refresh_rate" > Edit Value > 90 > Save Changes
Select "user_refresh_rate" > Edit Value > 90 > Save Changes
Step 5 : Restart Device
Step 6 : Disable system app "Battery and performance" (com.miui.powerkeeper)
Step 7 : Go to (Settings > Apps > Manage apps > Battery and performance) and clear all app data.
Step 8 : Go to Developer Options and Enable Show refresh rate
Step 9 : Its Done, no need to restart your device
I have tested this on MIUI by xiaomi.eu 13.0.9 SJUMIXM and it worked without any issues
In step 4, only the third one is necessary and you don't to do step 5 and beyond.
After changing the value, just open the recents and it'll automatically go 90.

Is there any way to set Accessibility -> Dexterity and Interaction -> Press and Hold Delay to a custom value less than 0.5s? I find the default 0.5 value to be very long and annoying when compared to all previous android phones I've owned. I tried setting it to a custom value of 0.35 - 0.4s, which better fits what I'm used to, but the phone does not allow saving these values. I'm guessing there must be some manual/adb/root way of tweaking this.

Hi all,
For a while as I was turning on Location on my D6603 the system was asking if I wanted High Accuracy or Device only mode.
Once I mistakenly pressed "don't ask again" or something like that and chose High Accuracy. From then on every time I turn on Location it goes to that mode. BUT even if I change manually in settings the mode to Device only, every time I turn Location on again, it goes back to High Accuracy.
QUESTION : how can I change default mode to Device Only or alternatively go back to having the question asked the mode I want each time?
I want that because High accuracy is not so helpful + much more greedy with battery.
Thanks!
Hi all,
I ended up finding two solutions on android.stackexchange:
- Rooted: edit this file: data > data > com.google.android.gms > shared_prefs > nlp-prefs.xml
Change the value of confirmNlp to true. <boolean name="confirmNlp" value="false" />
- Not rooted :if willing to sacrifice third-part apps' data associated with their Google account, can consider clearing data of Play services' app as a solution. Set location mode to Device only for once, disable location mode, launch Settings app → Apps → All apps → Google Play services → Force stop → Manage Space → Clear data → Force stop again → optionally reboot.
regards!
Found solution to get manual brightness working on windows 10 firmwares on our 1020 devices
Change registry with interop tools or what ever.
Select this provider this device, then registry browser, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ SOFTWARE/ Microsoft/ Autobrightness/ABSManualBrightness.
Change "Registry Value Type" to "Multi String".
Then Registry Value Data to
1
2
3
Save and restart device and smile :victory:
Thanks for info.
These settings i have now 1020 and brightness settings works great.
Numbers in () is original and without is modified.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\AutoBrightness
- ABSAutoMaxBrightness (3) 6
- ABSManualBrightness (3) 1 3 6 (the variable here is multistring)
- ABSMonitorControl (1) 1
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/mt168406(v=vs.85).aspx
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\OEM\Brightness
-LowBrightness (1) 1
-MediumBrightness (2) 3
-Hightbrightness (3) 6
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/mt147021(v=vs.85).aspx
HKLM\Software\OEM\AutoBrightness
- ABSPercentIntensityMapping 2 3 4 (the variable here is multistring)
- ABSRangeMilliLuxMapping 1 2 MAX (the variable here is multistring)

Supel low light u get when change settings manually low and then autobrightness on.
Normal light, manually normal and then autobrigtness on.
is it normal that i can't change registry type? I use interop tools on lumia 925
found interop tools L release
Yes
If you cant change the registry, you need to go into interop tools app
-interop unlock
And turn on restore NDTKSvc then restart the phone and edit the registry

Hi,
Does this phone have the ability to set the refresh rate to 60Hz with LineageOS?
Is there something like this:
Settings > Display > Advanced > Minimum refresh rate
where you can set the refresh rate to 60Hz? If someone has LineageOS installed on this device could you take a screenshot of the setting page?
I have read that there are problems with 120Hz and using dark mode. Here is an article that discussed this: https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_8t-review-2183p3.php
I am looking for mainly extra battery life.

only 120 but seem scale automatically
You can also force 120hz all the time through adb
Is there a way to force 60hz all the time though adb as well or only 120hz?

So is there a setting under display at all or is there no setting at all?
When you do 60hz it's locked at 60, if you do 120 it'll be variable so usually 120 but drops to 60hz when you're on a stationary page. If you want to lock it at 120 then you'll need to do adb commands, I used joneolus tools. Look up how to use it in YouTube, I found a great tutorial that'll walk you thru the commands
