Get that malware off the device.
It's a multi vector security risk.
If you must go there use browser logon only.

Well you see what it's doing.
Probably bad coding or needs updating.
Try clearing it's cache. Clear system cache if you have that option.
Clear app data or uninstall then reinstall.
One reason I never have malware issues is because no social media apps are ever installed on my devices. WhatsApp is a huge bullseye target for hackers, scammers, phlishers... and they're quit creative.

Yes I understand but even after the clear cache and reinstall the app...overnight nothing is change..
So there is nothing to do?!

Clearing Google Market Info

May have been answered before but searching didn't bring anything up for me. Basically I want to clear the data backed up on my Google account regarding Android (WiFi, Market apps, Settings, etc) so I can start again.
Anyone know how to do it?
OK, managed to find somewhere that if you go into your Privacy settings and uncheck the backup option it says it'll delete everything. Is this correct?
Erm I think so eddy I used to untick it when first install and everythibk would be clear
For reference, the above doesn't work. Tried clearing the lot, wiped all data and reflashed my ROM and it still restored my apps, etc...quite annoying really. I mean, its good, but if you wanna start from a clean slate it would seem you can't!
Erm ok soz buddy

That's OK mate! I'll find a way I'm sure
Quick edit: Turning off backup DOES delete settings relating to the phone but NOT the Market. Must be a separate backup which I can't find!
EDIT: OK, sign into your Google Dashboard and you can see what's backed up and when but you CANNOT delete it. Why the hell not?!?!

Hi,
Is it one of those situations where they have you by the short and curlies, and will not let you go?
Maybe the only way is to open a new account?
I seem to remember AOL being the same...
Bloody well hope not! I've emailed Google so we'll see what comes of it but surely if you delete an app it should NOT come back the next time!
On a related note, anyone know why some apps I install are NOT listed under 'My Apps'? I'm guessing it's linked to my account somehow but, again, it's annoying!
Erm depends if they where downloaded from Google it self or if sourced from some where else they won't show up I should know
If u have titanium backup go to
Menu/more/market doctor and it will fix broken links to Google market

They're all from the Market, but I'll try the TI option, thanks
EDIT: I'm not paying for an app I'll never use, but thanks anyway. Funny how the old Market never had this issue. just the new one
Haha yes yes I agree old market was fantastic
Yes i do try before I buy if I like the app then buy

Randomly enough, it seems to have worked anyway! It said I may have to 'download any app' to get it up to scratch and, seeing as Superuser needing updating, I did it. It now shows all Market apps in My Apps!
Yh I did it I was playing around and now I have like 20 updates but can't update them.as there ermmmm not from Google

I'm just glad to have it sorted, was doing my nut in! At least now everything is cleared and setup from scratch so hopefully won't have to complain again. Still think Google should have the option

If you dont know what ROM your using then it will be stock I meant are you using a custom ROM but i guess you are not lol
try to clear the cache and data manually via setttings > apps, Not all 3rd party apps do a good job.

that is super strange lol do you get the option to report it when it FC's ?
My next step would be to contact the developer

Mine force closes when using the search function. Everything else works fine.
My wife was having issues with her feed (she has a galaxy s blaze 4g), ao I am guessing that there may be an issue with the app.

What should I do to maintain my S3?

Could someone provide a guide or maybe tips on things I should be doing to keep my S3 optimized? I purchased All-In-One Toolbox and deleted all of my old SMS text and call history and it really sped things up. I was wondering what else I could or should be doing to keep it running well.

With the text thing just set a limit of 2-500 to keep things a bit tidy. Made the mistake when I first got my s3 to set it to unlimited. After 20k+ of buildup I wasnt able to delete messages anymore, had to let a program run for 5-6 hrs to delete them all. Also like any computer an occasional wipe can do wonders for performance (after backing everything up), whenever my s3 starts acting up I do a clean reflash of my rom and its back to 100%
Get rid of Touchwiz asap.

If you're rooted, and not on 4.3, get the Lagfix app.
It runs the fstrim commands on your flash storage partitions which help quite a bit if performance seems to be sluggish while loading apps.
Remove all unnecessary bloatware, install some custom rom (if you want better performance than touchwiz one+more available RAM), clean your cache using cache cleaner apps, don't use task killers 'cause they are unnecessary and eats RAM.
I found using Greenify on apps like Facebook really helps preventing slowdown and improves batterylife as well. However, it needs root.
I should have mentioned that i'm not rooted and would prefer not to do that as I'm completely new to it.

This sounds like the only suggestion that doesn't require rooting, correct? Any other non-rooted suggestions?
How do you set the limit on text messages? Is there any app that will allow me to delete messages that are older than a certain date? The ones I've found so far will only do all or by sender.

Try go sms pro txt app i know that has txt limit setting nver did like the stock mms haven't ben on stock in a long time cant help u much ... U can always do a factory reset from time to time.. Not have many apps around if u notice u dnt use an app often then just delete it .. Not much u can since stock has a lot of bloatware
Root your phone and flash a new ROM, kernel, and modem (If you're not on the latest one)!

I really don't know what any of that means as I'm completely unfamiliar to rooting. Won't that void my warranty?
How can there not be anything I can do unless I root? My phone was plenty fast when I first got it and there was bloatware on it then too. There must be other ways to speed things up like cleaning out my cache and the like.

Menu > Settings > Advanced tab > Application Settings > Scroll to the bottom, and check "Auto delete old messages" then set your Text and MMS limits just below that.
I have mine set to 500 SMS, and 20 MMS
Thanks I figured it out.
Ultimately I ended up uninstalling the app though because it was too slow and I didn't like the ads.
I've been using All-in-one Toolbox and just periodically deleting messages.
So does anyone else have any advise on speeding up my device?

Just throwing it out there, but if you don't have root, you will never REALLY be able to optimize much. You're stuck with what Verizon and Sammy gave you... Rooting and installing cyanogenmod brought the lag next to nothing.

The stock messaging app allows you to set how many messages it keeps. You set x number of text messages and x number of mms messages. Open the message app and the click the settings button and there are the settings.

When I cleaned out my old SMS messages it did make a difference though. Why is rooting the only way to restore my phone to it's initial performance?

You can always restore it to its initial performance by factory resetting, independent of what ROM you are on. I just don't think touchwiz is as responsive out of the box as cyanogenmod. And I think cyanogenmod holds up to lots more apps and data being on the phone better compared to touchwiz.
People will argue that as always, its just my personal opinion

For pure stock rom 4.3:
1) Disable unused apps (bloatware)
2) limit SMS, MMS - no more than 500 (mine set to 200).
3) install cache cleaner app and schedule to clean cache weekly
4) Reboot your phone once a week or once every 2 weeks.(I do it before I hit the bed)
You phone should performance well.

I guess resetting the factory settings would give me the ideal result, but it's not very practical.

1) For user download apps, just uninstall them. For system apps go into settings-> application-> tab on the all, this dispaly all the apps, if you selected a system app, open it and select disable, to the right you also see a tab for all the apps that you disabled and to re activate just open it up and tab on enable. Note: Not all system apps can be disable. If you don't see the option to disable then it can't.
2) You need a cache cleaner with a scheduler like:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache or
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bazinga.cacheclean

I hope you aren't trying to reset games whose save files are saved on server.
To delete savefiles and reset game progress you can try deleting app data+cache from the appilation settings of android. This trick always worked with me. I have resetted my clash of clans with this.

The save was on the server I think, I was trying to trick the app into thinking that my phone was a new phone but it didn't work just reloaded the app save again, happy farm won...... Soo after the android ID switcher failed I simply just fast booted because nothing else worked any my phone was kinda screwed up anyway. Game still won after FDR then fast boot......

Big WhatsApp conversation slow to open

Hi there. So, i'm having some trouble with open whatsapp big conversations, and I never had this kind of bad performance before. With big history conversations in whatsapp, when I click to open, it takes about 1 or 2 secs to open and I can normal type in keyboard, other smaller conversations do not take so long to open. Ok, I know that big histories make difference, but like I said before, I never had that kind of bad performance with big conversations in other devices and not even in my S6. I'm using PURESTOCK last version until today and I've tried Hacker, Adam and Stock kernel. Anyone have ideas? Sorry for bad english.
Thank you!
