LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Grab the latest build, gapps, recommended recovery and firmware (if you're on a lower than recommended firmware)
Flash recovery via fastboot.
Reboot to recovery.
Format Data Partition.
Flash the latest build, gapps (if you wish)

DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel , Magisk or any other addons.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Call Recording Sound Issues
Call Recorder sound is distorded when call taken via phone earpiece however while on speaker phone it sounds good. Any fixes?

Your asserted firmware version for India is V12. But the latest available firmware for India on Xiaomi firmware updater is V11.
And it's the opposite for China. V12 is available but only V11 is required.
Can this ROM just not be flashed on Indian devices yet?

Ah. Never mind. This is the fault of this FAQ question answer in the Xiaomi Firmware Updater thread:
"How to update the firmware?
1- Download the package you want to flash. IT MUST BE NAMED WITH THE SAME CODENAME OF YOUR DEVICE."
This is NOT the case. You can flash the China firmware on Indian devices and flash LOS on top. It works. I don't know why the FAQ says what it does.

Well, this was written before Xiaomi decided to do (almost) same devices with different codenames. The warning was there because some people may try to cross flash firmware of other devices. However, in devices like violet it's fine since china and global are the same codename (violet, violet_in_global), unlike Redmi Note 8 Pro (begonia, begoniain_in_global).

I have a Mi 5 and it was common knowledge since the beginning that you could flash whichever firmware you wanted to on it. So looking at your thread I thought that Xiaomi changed something in its newer devices, mandating the use of that region's firmware. Glad to know that's not the case. Thanks!

Followed main instructions except I dirty flashed this over the old Official LineageOS 16 build. It's been working great so far!

Installation:
If you are on stock OS, you need a custom recovery first. You can get the recommended recovery in the official installation instructions link below.
If you are coming from stock or other ROMs, you need to make a factory reset.

On this remarkable day, on the 9th of September, when android 11 has official release, z3c was given official build of android 10 with Lineage OS 17.1:laugh:. I am not complaining thought, great work, keep it up man.

@NeoArian There already exists a LOS 17.1 thread created by you. Can you please confirm which one out of the two do you wish to keep? Duplicate threads are not permitted as per the Forum Rules.

First, thank you NeoArian and other contributors for your great work. Just a question : I have no experience with Lineage recovery. What is the differences between Lineage recovery and TWRP ? What are the pros and cons ? If I try Lineage recovery, is it easy to go back to TWRP ? Without a full install ?

Regarding the sources, yes, I see the link to the LOS GitHub, but I'll appreciate if you link the kernel repository (and if possible the device tree and vendor tree, if applicable) instead of the single LOS GitHub link.

I have installed it this morning and have only noticed that the rear camera is not working (the front one is working normally).
I have tested it with the bundled camera app and with Footej camera.
Maybe my z3c is dying so is this happen to someone else?

I just flashed this over the last 17.1 unofficial build, and the cameras are working.

Upgrade from 16.0 via TWRP.
For my case: Camera (front/back), Mic, NFC, Bluetooth and GPS works without any issues so far. I wish I could help with some logs but it feels already so stable. I'm so baffled that devices like the Z3C with 2GB is running so fast and reliable with the latest Android.... except their 3.5 jacks of course
Abandoned from the company and kept alive by the community.

Could someone tell me how to revert back to stock ROM? Cause LOS changes partitions structure and I can't restore my backup.
BTW. Snap 801 isn't ARM64 SoC. Well, at least I couldn't install ARM64 GApps

Hey @NeoArian. A little typo here, that can cause serious problems for some newbies here. We should use ARM GApps, NOT ARM64. You probably forgot to modify accordingly your post template while creating new thread, since on the lineage's device wiki it correctly specifies ARM Gapps.
If you don't mind, I would also like to ask about updating from official LOS 16 to 17.1 WITHOUT LOSING DATA. So I read here about the procedure but I am not familiar with adb side loading - I am more of TWRP guy myself . Are these steps correct for updating through TWRP :
Have official LOS 16 + your TWRP recommended for android 9 + GApps nano 9 ARM + Magisk 20.4 installed
Download a new TWRP from here
Download latest LOS 17.1 from here and copy it to device
Download GApps from here and copy it to device
Reboot to fastboot and flash new recovery
Boot to recovery
Flash latest LOS 17.1 on top of old LOS 16
Flash new GApps for android 10 (on top of GApps from android 9?)
Flash magisk (on top of old android 9's magisk installation ?)
Reboot to system

- Is it possible to implement the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)? It worked with unlocked bootloader under stock 6.0.1 when plugging the Sony MDR-NC31E earphones just before flashing LOS 17.1.

The steps you mentioned seem fine and the apps and your data should persist, ideally without crashes

Hi, big thanks to NeoArian,
all works fine. I come from Stock 291 (German Telekom Brand). I had some trouble after flashing Recovery because I can´t start recovery with "fastboot reboot recovery". In my case always an system reboot appears. After some trys I use the keys (Vol- + Power) to boot in Recovery and all works fine. Please tell this in the install LineageOs on Z3c ( https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/z3c/install )

In fact I change TWRP, I should have installed the wrong one, Magisk is installed now.

Just a humble question, do the Sony STM10 stereo microphone works with this rom? Now I'm on Lineage 16 and it doesn't work very well with it (lots of stuttering during the recording)

Deep sleep is probably not working because of bt wakelock or something like that. It is a known bug for ages with z3c.

I had problems and I got help and figured it out this is what I had to do.
1 . Fastboot -W
2. Fastboot boot twrp ( I had to use 2 different versions due to my phone being a pain in the butI used twrp 3.3.x.x to push the carbonrom zip to the phone then rebooted back to bootloader the fastboot boot twrp version 3.4.x.x. to install Carbon Rom you may have better luck with the 7pro twrp 4.4.x.x to install this rom)
4.Reboot to Bootloader (I skipped 5-7 cause I did not want google on my phone the less the better my opinion)
5. fastboot boot TWRP
6. Flash gapps of your choosing in TWRP(opengapps pico has best battery life atm)
7. Reboot to Bootloader
8. fastboot -w
9. fastboot flash persist <your persist backup>.img ( I lost fingerprint scanner cause I could not read directions use the msm tool to get your persist backed up if you like to use the fingerprint scanner)

Instructions state that you boot TWRP, don't flash it, and you can install through that.

I'm aware of booting TWRP. Nothing installs in TWRP as nothing mounts, unless there's some magical version of TWRP I don't know about.

You'll get error codes, but with the latest version of TWRP from the telegram group, it'll still finish the installation successfully

Hi I was wondering if you could provide me the link ti get the twrp for telegram? Please

which TWRP version works ? I tried 3.4.0.2 and 3.4.0.12, both finish with error but not able to boot up

Does someone just have a link to the TWRP? Seems pretty silly to be only in telegram which i cant access because my phone doesn't have an OS and you cant log in on desktop without your phone

I flashed the may build all went well.tried using verizon everything works...phone calls sms only issue no data.cant send mms or surf the web.anyone have any suggestions? Things i tried...adding new apn which i cant wont allow me.tried using global mode and a few others same thing.any help would be greatly appreciated.also flashed on 10.4 firmware...

If we want to use a more recent upload of this ROM from the official sight (not cr9) is 10.0.36 (at least) still ok or do we need to start from from a later version of the stock ROM on both slots?

i think any recovery from youtube videos will do, i don't think there will be any problem in using any of them

I'll taken a look because there is no clear informatie about any working recovery for the veux redmi note 11pro 5G

Face a problem. I already registered a fingerprint for security but it can't be used for unlocking the device. No reaction tapping the sensor so I'm still using the pattern now.

awesome rom, everything works great! thank you very much, you made me happy - finally something other than MIUI.

I for some reason have no notification sound at all. max volume, it plays sound when I select it in settings, but when I receive notification it only vibrates for all apps. tried different sounds.
edit: nevermind, there's no sound only for Telegram for some reason. so the only issue is that I have a wifi calling icon constantly showing even with wifi calling disabled. for the rest - all perfect.

Everything what i try - work like charm (including root via magisk)!

I have not been here at the XDA forum for a long time and just wanted to mention that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G ( GLOBAL) is not the same as the POCO X4 pro 5g.
Different processors ( Redmi Note 11 pro+ got the mediatek 920 ). Even the sizes are different.

The main reasons that I went for the Redmi instead of the Poco is the support for WiFi 6 and the 120w fast charging.
Having that said, I guess this rom is not for the global version of the redmi note 11 pro + 5 G , right?

you need:

and if you need 120w charging, then dont falsh it bcs custom rom dont have
more then 9V-2A fast charging

What I mean is that the code name for the Redmi 11 pro PLUS is "Pissarropro" and not "Veux" which is for the Redmi 11 pro WITHOUT the "+".
Having that said I guess that the thread title of this and other threads should be corrected, the word PLUS should be removed to avoid confusion and avoid less experienced users flashing the wrong rom

nothing else done with it yet. I have a dev all lined up to work on it but i don't have the funds to get him a device. he found a device on ebay for 150 but we weren't able to make it happen

yes, you can't do anything to the device without unlocking the bootloader

I have the device and have been trying to get lineage compiled for it. However I am very green and at a loss on many things.

Any news on this device? I'm dying to use a custom ROM.

you're in luck. just got service working on GSI roms, also just bought a good dev the device and he will get custom roms trees going. head on over to my telegram group if you want to give AncientOS GSI a go, all setup for our device.

bunch of new custom gsi roms out guys, check em out and let me know....

Yeah I've tried multiple GSI roms..none have VOLTE working...only issue is 2g mms calls or data 4g/5g but for the life of me can't get HYBRID mode to work..The Spark OS and Cherish OS 13 are my favorite and they both are r/w GSI's ..
Do you have a fix for VOLTE for these wonderful GSI's??

yes, all the gsi roms I released here have been modified by me for the xt2215-4 and should all have working volte ootb baked into the rom, as well as other customizations. Also, all my releases are R/W
*It has been noted during testing that Verizon carrier is still having some issues with calls dropping and such, not sure why but investigating..... I personally have Cricket and haven't had those issues. I had 1 dropped call and that's it in my testing so far*

as a side note, i asked for feedback for my releases, not random gsi's you downloaded from somewhere else. Not really sure why you would come here talking about regular gsi roms when I clearly stated these are "custom" gsi roms, meaning i went through every one and tweaked them to be custom for our device. I'm certainly not trying to be rude, but it would be awful stupid and silly of me to download a regular gsi rom and copy and paste it here as though it were some sort of news or release....

I've tested THIS as in @PizzaG release of Ancient and can verify working sms and calls on T-Mobile. We had one Verizon guy with crashing calls trying to sort out. Other than that..custom rom for the first time in akmost 2 years for me, ty sir <3

Side note your roms are not on this site XDA.your link leads one to a telegram website for downloads..
Why not post a direct link here,XDA.
So your smart ass commit was un-called for.
Secondly I have other followers who run GSI roms and are trying to figure things out.. Posting a simple post irriated you I wonder why your work is on Telegram aka Spam land rather than XDA

lol, Spam Land? I have a deditcated group of 300 people and several years in existance on Telegram, as well as a member of XDA for 10 years now. Not sure wth ur even talking about. I post here as an afterthought to share with the community, I don't have time to upload the same crap to a bunch of different places, take it or leave it. Maybe if you were to get on telegram and actually see what's going on you wouldn't assume, and maybe if you asked nicely, I would share my tools to make your own gsi super images...... If not, that's fine too. I'm sure you're crew will eventually figure it out
and yes, I did get irritated that you came here talking about unrelated stuff as though you were commenting on my releases, it's misleading for the others who are coming here for valid info and if they were to read your comment out of context it would seem as though my releases don't have working volte and service when in fact they do. Also, last I checked, I find very few Roms actually natively posted to XDA, everyone links their roms to outside sources. Think of it like this, if XDA is the newspaper, Telegram is the news room where all the work gets done so that the newspaper can even get printed.....
