Huawei P40 pro front /selfie camera issue – continuous restarting camera app
Hi guys,
I bought a second hand Huawei P40 Pro ELS-NX9 last year in November. The seller told me selfie camera is not working due to an update of the EMUI.
Issue: camera app works fine, I can open it and it will go straight in the main camera mode photo/portrait, I can than navigate all the options and everything works fine. If I go to push the selfie button than app will try switch to that but I ll have only a very blurry image of the last thing showed on the rear camera for 5ish seconds and then go back to the rear camera, (will freeze on the last image showed before pushing selfie button) and close the app. It will open it again show a black image and then close the app again…this loop will continue until manually closing the app.
Fun fact: if I i put a finger over the front camera ( without touching it ) and try to unlock the phone it will show : DO NOT COVER TOP OF THE SCREEN – mistouch prevention enabled …that should be the other part of the camera I replaced
Me trying to fix it: I did the downgrade to EMUI 10 but the camera did not work
Factory restore – clear cache
Replaced selfie camera with new one
Replaced camera with working camera from another phone (bought from a store)
Any idea what the issue could be?
Thank you for your help

Front Camera Not Working Xiomi Note 5 Ai

Device: Note 5 Ai
Global Beta Rom
'Camera keeps stopping'
This message popped up. Then I restarted my phone. I could open my camera. Rear camera is working fine. But front camera doesn't work. When I touch the icon of front camera it switches into main camera with the features of front camera. I mean rear camera with front camera features. A screenshot of front camera has been attached.
To resolve this problem I did
1) Clear Data and Cache of Camera App through Installed App and Reboot the Device.
2) Make a factory reset.
3) Update from V10.0.2.0 to V10.0.4.0
4) Make a hardware test.
None of the above method worked.
What's the problem and what's the solution? I see many redmi note 5 ai users are facing problems with camera and none of them got any solution.
How can I get rid of this problem? Please help.
Thanks.

Camera Flash Focus Question

Hello
I have bought a new OP7 Pro and I updated immediately to Android 10 beta 2.. no my smartest move apparently.
When I'm trying to focus in the dark with the main camera app just by tapping the flash does not turn on at all.. and if I try to take the picture the flash turns on and stays on like a torch not by flashing for a fraction of the second like a normal camera on any smartphone.
First I thought it is a hardware based problem and I should return the phone / I still have 10 days to do so.
Then I've installed a different camera app called LG camera and surprise! Tap to focus in dark environment turns on the flash and the camera manages to focus also when I tap to take the picture the LED only turns on to .1 seconds and works normal.
Tried a version on Gcam and it doesn't work either..
I tried the following:
- cleared data and forced stop the main camera app
- factory reset
Thank you in advance for any ideas.
Camera flash
Hello, I also have the same problem with my op7pro I don't have a fix for it yet.
Does it work with the latest stable?

Rear Camera + Flashlight keeps getting disabled... Why ???

I have had no issues at all for almost an year with this phone. I was running oreo ever since I bought this phone. Suddenly, a day or two before upgrading it to pie 9.0, I found out in my Snapchat app that there was no back camera sign. First I thought, some weird snap update, but then I found out in system Camera app, it was even not showing the back camera. Whenever I would click on the rear camera sign from the top in Camera app, it would keep on swapping to the frontal secondary camera and then back to the primary frontal camera but no back camera was working. Also I found out that my Flashlight icon is hardened or greyed out, like it's been disabled forcefully. I can make it work using some other app, but it is frustrating why this is happening.
Now I am on android 9, rooted, and this problem keeps on coming and going. At times the back camera won't even work or open with the error "Camera not working" etc. Sometimes, the back camera would work but with only 3 weirded resolutions, like 12MP, 16MP, and some other. and the video mode will be extremely large or zoomed in at 16MP. Suddenly, the camera will start working normally again with all the perfect default resolutions. I tried everything from SAFE MODE to CLEARING THE CAM APP, RESETTING THE APP, but nothing works. All it seems like that camera has suddenly came to life and has a self-consciousness and a mood which it is controlling itself. Sometimes it wants to work and at times, it simply just gets disabled. Any idea what could be the problem? I am rooted using MAGISK.
Simular camera problems with Lenovo tab v7
I have a Lenovo tab v7 with almost the same problems, the rear camera wont work but occasionally the front camera works and the flash LED is dead.
Running Android 9 Pie as well, but not rooted yet.
Any ideas about what we can do about it, is the camera hardware due to be replaced?

It suddenly started happening almost a month ago, I was on oreo 8 and then upgraded to pie 9 but the problem persisted. It kept working for few days and then started to make problems again. I tried to read many forums for android users with the same problem but still haven't found a single complete fix for this problem other than that the rear camera needs to be refixed. But I am finding it hard to believe that even if camera was getting bad, there is no point of FlashLight getting greyed out/disable from the notification bar. It seems more like some kind of a process is not releasing the rear camera and flashlight module/process.

Tof sensor dead?!

Hi everyone,
Has anyone experienced an issue with the camera?
Since my phone overheated, about 3 weeks ago, staying under the sun, I can't use the rear camera... I had the overheating warning pop up.
Basically if I launch the app, the app freezes, I can't switch to different rear cameras (wide, regular, telezoom) nor switch to front camera.
Sometimes I get a pop-up saying "can not connect to camera".
I can launch selfie mode directly from the app shortcut (by long pressing), other apps can't access the rear camera either and clearing cache of the camera app didn't change anything.
So, I had to change the back cover of the phone that had been previously cracked (nothing to do the camera not working), and I benefited the phone opened to try with disconnected cameras:
Telephoto works well, super wide as well.
Funny thing: the phone can use only the super wide camera to do both x0,6 and x1 (you don't notice that the main camera is not used).
Main camera worked.
2nd funny thing : portrait mode works perfectly without the Tof sensor being plugged in...
I plugged back the Tof sensor, it was still working, but stopped after restarting the phone. I removed it, cleared cache, it started to work again. I plugged the Tof sensor back in, it was working... I glued back the cover, and had the camera stop working within few minutes...
Long story short, has anyone experienced an issue with the Tof sensor? Which doesn't seem to be very useful...
I guess I'll try to remove it completely and check if the camera becomes stable.
I didn't find this part being sold :/
Regards, Charles

OnePlus 7 Pro Pop-up Camera Opens with a custom rom but not stock.

My OnePlus' front popup camera had stopped working ( it would not Pop-up) and since the battery health was bad, I switched to a new phone.
So I tried flashing crDroid 9, the inbuilt camera app had 4 zoom option ".7x", "1x", "2.2x" and another "2.2x".
when I click on the third option the front camera popped up but the preview is still of back camera, and when I try to switch to front cam it simply goes blank for a second and shows the back cam preview.
So my question is,
is it a problem with persist.img? if not are there any fixes?
