Hi Rodken, the apps which I've mentioned in the article is completely based upon few factors like,
Free to use apps.
The apps are based mainly on India or city-based news, but it can also provide international news.
Language preferences - Most of the users in India prefer to use their own language to read news.
Summarized news - to read the news in summarized format and in case a user wishes to read the complete news then they can go through it by swiping or clicking the headline of the particular news.
Few apps also have the option to read the news like social media reels or stories, where user just need to swipe up move to the next news.
Bloomberg is more focused upon markets and stocks
AP news has only 2 languages Espanol & English, Indians prefer to use their own language or English to read news.
CNN has only two options for news programming, that's US and international news. When you select international news, it shows news from all the countries rather than showing the news only from your desired country or local news.
Kindly download any of the above-mentioned News apps and you can compare it with CNN, Bloomberg, AP news or any other news apps which you want to compare them with. You'll understand the differences.
Cheers

I really like Google News but I hate using their actual app or their mobile website. However, News Fragments is a super cool Android app that uses Google news.
All your news stories are filtered and sorted by google. News Fragments sports a sleek ICS theme and is very easy to use. You can swipe your finger to view various categories and article. It also caches articles for offline use.
It's worth checking out..

Try out Arego and share your feedback!
Now available on Google Play: Search for AregoLive OR com.alterego.aregolive
Twitter: @slidingbits
You'll find the APK in the attachments if you wish to donwload from right here.
I started Arego a few months back with a simple objective, I wanted relevant news to find its way to me. There are tons of news sources and unfathomable amount of news and articles being generated every day, I had been using RSS feeds before and gradually gave up on the reader as too many feeds filled up my inbox.
There are many reader apps but Arego is the only one with brains. Arego gradually builds up a profile of your reading habits, what times you prefer to read which sources and so on. The more you use Arego the more relevant news will find its way to you.
Arego works in 2 modes, news app mode and wallpaper mode.
News App Mode:
As a news app you can launch Arego and browse through a list of articles that are relevant for the moment.
Wallpaper Mode:
As a live wallpaper, Arego will find the most relevant news of the moment and make a live wallpaper with news and images, news changs gradually every few minutes. The wallpaper changes colors with time so that its never too bright or distracting. AregoLive Wallpaper is designed for simplicity and to not distract you from actual phone usage.
Other features:
- Schedule feeds for specific day and times of the week.
- Share articles on twitter, facebook
- Rank and rate article content
- Add custom RSS feeds
- Curated list of Feeds and article sources
Added support for 7 inch tablet devices. Do try it out if you have a tablet handy.
Added a beautiful font for reading long form content. You can now read most web articles in an elegant layout without distracting advertisements and fancy formatting. The feed list has been updated to display category tags and a few minor fixes.
Check out the latest version of Arego RSS on Google play
Hi all,
I've created an app for reading the latest news, using news API, v2.
The news are available from 54 countries and many, many sources.
In general, this application consists of two main parts:
1. Top - here we can see the top articles from the selected country. The articles are categorized, the available categories are: General, Business, Sports, Health, Entertainment, Technology, Science.
This part corresponds to "Top Headlines" in news api.
2. Feed - many non-categorized articles from the specific sources of the selected country.
This part corresponds to "Everything" endpoint in news api.
Every article can be opened in browser, shared or saved for later. All saved articles are displayed in "Saved" section.
In Settings we can choose the countries for Top and Feed sections. The countries are selected independently, so it's possible to read news from two different countries at the same time.
TBD: add manual source selection for Feed, to better customise this part.
The app inteface is available in several languages.
Registration is not required. The application does not collect any personal information.
Google Play Store: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alex.news.app

(Sorry, cannot upload here because I'm a new user, see Google Play for screenshots)
Many thanks in advance for your feedbacks, as well as for any bug reports and advices!
Updated:
Version 2.1: now you can switch berween countries much more effeciently. Afrer changing the country all the articles in all categories are refreshed in one click.
Coming soon in the next updates:
