Hi everyone, I am new to this forum.
I have a spare Samsung C9 Pro which is official upgraded at Android 8.0.0
I would like to know if there a way to upgrade this phone.
Updating Samsung Software Over-The-Air is an option available in Samsung Android Smartphones and Tablets. Doesn't this easy method work for your Samsung C9 Pro?

If there are stock updates available for your device, then, yes, you can upgrade.
If there are no official updates available for the devices, then, no, you cannot upgrade unless there are custom ROMs available for the device. If there are no custom ROMs available for the device, then, you will have to learn to build a custom ROM for yourself and that is only "IF" the stock source code for the device has been made available by the manufacturer/carrier.

I wouldn't update it unless you HAVE to.
The phone seems to run best on KitKat from what I've seen.
Of course that operating system was what the designers of the phone planned for the hardware to run in the first place.
Other note phones are running 6.0.1
I have my Samsung galaxy s5 running 6.0.1. Also other note edge models are running 6.0.1 but I can't find the update for my edge model.
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but I've been following you for a long time. I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 model SM-J330FN. I was able to install the android oreo update 8.0 although it has not yet been officially released using Odin. My question is: are there other custom ROMs, which maybe include the 8.1 update or are already customized? Unfortunately I could not find any more and I trust you that you are the guru of modding. I hope in your answer guys :fingers-crossed:

Dear XDA Community,
Sorry, this is probably a newbie question, but is it possible to update Android version when running a custom ROM such as Pixel Experience? To be more specific, I am still running MIUI on my Pocophone F1 and I am looking to flash something different soon, but I have noticed that there is a Beta version out for PE to be run on Android 11. The question is how do I upgrade if I am running Android 10 and the developers have not yet sent an update out? Who knows whether there will be an option to upgrade to Android 11 if Pocophone X2 is their priority now. Thank you in advance.
Hello mate,
Hopefully I have read your question correctly.
If a custom ROM is released for Android 11 you won't need the official system to be 11 first as the ROM itself will be built from/based on 11 so it will update your system accordingly when flashed.
Example, Nexus 5x ended official support on Android 8 but custom ROM builds took it to 9 and now 10.
As long as you follow the flashing instructions supplied by the ROM of choice you should be golden.
Hope that makes sense
Hi everybody,
I've bought a Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro (2017) which was already upgraded to Android 9.0 which uses OneUI.
I don't really have a good relationship with OneUI, instead I like the Samsung Experience 8.1 UI which was used in Android 7.0.
Do you think it is worth it to rollback the device to Android 7.0 for the theme? Or if is there anyway I can use the Experience on Android 9.0?
Thanks for your time and help!

I recommend using newer Android version because of latest security patches. And some apps may stop working on older Android versions sooner or later. There are different themes for OneUI (via Samsung Galaxy store) ... or using a different launcher (via Play store).
Maybe you will find one looking like touchwiz or Samsung experience

HI Guys. I messed my phone on which had installed the latest update of Android 11 which can't downgrade to the same android 11 because of new policy. I need to find only the latest version of android 11 bl7 to flash it.. Do you know where I can find it for my Note 10+5G N976B?
So there's no way to flash back?
I've saw this posted before here.
Sounds like the lame Chrysler modular control system that makes repairs so infuriating and expensive.
I refuse to move from Pie on my 10+.
Yes. No way to go back from R bl7.
