basically, i transferred a bootanimation.zip file to the evo by dropbox. went to use astro file manager to delete the one on the device, and copy/move (tried both), and it just didnt work.
so is there a file manager that is known to be able to handle system files??
I haven't had any problems manging any files with estrongs file explorer
Did you mount /system as read/write first? Doesn't sound like it.
Root explorer is about as good as it gets. Cheap but not free

[Q] Can't delete folder in internal storage

hi, im having problems deleting a folder in my internal storage.
my phone is Lenovo A328, stock rom, rooted, and running on kitkat.
i didn't do any tweaking on my phone besides rooting.
i noticed while browsing my internal folders, in Android/data there is a folder named "com.com2us.soulcollector.normal...." 16.74mb in size.
it's from the game soul seeker, and i've already uninstalled the game, i tried to delete it but cant be deleted.
here's what ive done so far:
-i used other browsing apps like root explorer and root browser
-renamed the folder and delete, but can't
-moved the folder to other location in internal (cant move to external), still cant delete
-downloaded the game again and made sure the folder name and location is the same. then uninstalled the game, still the folder is there.
-edit the permission but cant.
-reboot device
-clean junk files using clean master
i dont want to restore or reformat my device. its a pain trying to download and reinstall again all my apps.
please help!

Try remounting /data as RW.
So, if you're using ES Explorer, open menu, inside Tools, click on Root Explorer.
Then click Mount R/W. And mount all partitions as RW.
This may help

[Q] twrp (2.8.7.0) and cm (10.2.1) help for stock 4.4.2 rooted gs3 i535

Hello everyone I have been trying for some time now to get twrp (2.8.7.0) and cm (10.2.1) on my Samsung Verizon galaxy S3 about phone . I really don't want to brick my phone considering I'm trying to upgrade my computer and move at the same time so I have very limited cash. I am rooted via towelroot (confirmed via root checker basic) have SuperSU installed, twrp manager installed, Titanium backup installed, Explorer installed, and Busybox free installed. So I installed Titanium backup first to safely backup all of my data to my external sd card, and when I moved the backup destination folder to the external sd card and tried to backup all user apps titanium told me that there was insufficient space . Considering It has 15Gb free and there is altogether 14Gb on my internal I was curious. So upon further research I stumbled upon this and so when I tried to edit my platform.xml in my permissions folder it said it was set to read only. I noticed that my Explorer app isn't in the supersu list (could this be all it is, and if so how do I add it). So I proceeded to open up TWRP manager and it told me it can't write to sd card so it will reboot and patch the platform.xml file. I did that and it reboots and nothing has changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE: after posting this I tried the twrp platform.xml patch again and when the phone rebooted I checked via Explorer and it had created a back up in the permissions folder named platform.xml.bak and had edited the the write permissions. but TiBU still does not work with same error.

Why isn't my phone copying or moving fonts into system font folder in root explorer

I tried to change my font manually using root explorer, it use to work but after I formatted my phone, it stopped coping fonts into the (system-font )folder inside the root folder, it always says copy failed or move failed, please any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

How can I access the /data (root dir) folder?

I am able to see the /data folder by using ES FILE EXPLORER (root mode), but I am unable to see any of it's contents. I am willing to past some app folder data from a nandroid backup there.
Ok, found it, ES file explorer was without root.
