Use Selective focus, once captured, the saved image in Gallery allows you to save in different focuses.

i know but there is lot a difference between live focus and selective focus brother please check note 8 live focus and do not compare with selective focus.
I know, that only works if you have dual camera.

No, it can only work with 2 cameras, so unless you know a way of gluing on another camera, it ain't gonna happen.
The nearest we can get to it on the S8+ is by using selective focus or by using macro mode which can produce quite reasonable bokeh.
If so, how is it possible in A8+?

Sorry, I don't know the A8+.
The question was asked regarding the Galaxy S8+ specifically, and not all mobile phones in existence.
As you allude to, there are a multitude of devices that now implement a version of this using 'software' and the A8+ is probably one of these, as is also the Pixel 2 XL.
This hadn't been implemented on the S8+ at the time of my reply, but may now be present in some 'custom' ROM,s.
[Edit]
After doing some research on the A8+, I understand that it does actually have 2 front cameras.
It also notes that 'Live Focus' is available when taking 'selfies', ie using the '2' front cameras. In light of this, your 'trolling' of my original post makes absolutely no sense.
You're comparing apples (S8/+) to oranges (A8/+), one has a single camera on front and back = no 'Live Focus', the other has 2 on the front = 'Live Focus' when using front camera's.
Simple.

TRIPLE BOUNTY THREAD :: S9 Exynos version only google camera development

Bounty Thread :: for google camera s9 (exynos version ) with pixel 2 xl as model and pixel 2017 as processing parameter with both front and back hdr+ and hdr+ enhanced working along with potrait mode.
With superb camera hardware of s9 we could make it a superb camera phone, surely better than all of its rival:fingers-crossed:

Bounty 2 and 3 is very very highly to zero chance of happening as you need samsung proprietary code to do so. Even charles chow cannot get his nexus 5x and 6p gcam port to work on non human faces.

Brother first thing is this nexus 6p and nexus 5x doesnot have dual pixel hardware needed to support for potrait mode like pixel 2. I hope you got your answer. Without hardware support you cannot make a software to execute
I understand that but there are many other devices out there that have dual pixel but cannot work already. Those devices are cheaper and easier to work on than our s9+ regardless if it's exynos or snapdragon, but no one has been able to reverse engineer google's codes.

That is true also. Fingers cross
I'll contribute $20 for the first one as long as zsl is working.
Edit: canceled as of 9/5/18, I'm selling my S9 to get the OP6T
may be looping in gcam developers will help here i guess..
please adress the flash issue, can't take a picture with flash, there's a lag between the shutter and the flash.
I'm in with 20 bucks.
I've instaled the GCam and followed the sugestion of the user drexxie1962:
"Settings:
Model: Pixel 2XL
Config camera HDR+: Nexus 6 Hdr+Auto
HDR+ parameters: Super High
Final jpg quality HDR+: 100%

Huge mistake, had to factory reset the phone. So there's that, beware when using the GCam for exynos as its seats.
Count me in with mine 20$

Why it would be needed ?? All things works on s7 and s8 exynos , only s9 exynos version is not supporting pixel 2 zls and potrait mode on front camera otherwise potrait on rear works ( although laggy). Why do we need image segmentation like thing. Its pretty basic and has not been implemented yet so would be a very difficult and lengthy procedure for a dev.
If a thing is required is usage of dual pixel technology. As this will give power of potrait shootings on non- face subjects

Guys great news. I was able to run pixel 2 as model and pixel 2016 zls as processing settings. I dont know what triggered it. But results were awesome much better than nexus 6 as model. But now its not running and keeps force closing even after several tries. I ran it on v3.4a of cstark27. Lets hope somebody will figure it out how it got run. Also news for front camera hdr+
Has anyone got any good news??very said that it is taking so much long for our devices. If possible somebody please reach miiniuser123 as he can do miracles for us just like he did for other exynos based samsung devices:fingers-crossed:

Use https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...efcomg-fix_OP6v0.3_MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A.apk
And use settings as
Model == pixel 2 or pixel 2 xl
Parameter == default ( most stable )
Select pixel 2016 zls hdr+
Hdr+ support level == selct option 1 in front camera
And select in hexagon dsp == no
....
.........

And boom shakaa laakkaa
Bugs: no front selfie
No potrait in rear and front

Question GCam for Xperia 5 III?

Ive always wanted to try GCam and see if its all the hype it says it is.
Is there a modded version out for the Xperia 5 III? Thanks
None of previous Xperia (for the last 3 generations at least) flagship smartphone had working Gcam. Suggest this one will be no different.
bruh how is that even possible
I've been playing with one on my 5 ii, and the results are pretty good. Not as great as I expected, but that doesn't surprise me. The Sony hardware is not optimized to work with the software, and you could probably tweak the algorithms to make it work better with the Sony hardware. But, I don't have time to tweak the hundreds of settings in the GCAM mods to see what works best.
Where you have:
BSG: MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix
Download MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix by BSG.
www.celsoazevedo.com
It's not close to perfect, but it works on all 3 rear cameras.
Night mode doesn't work very well because Sony only exposes expores up to 1s for external apps, and the GCam crashes when tries to use more than 1s to capture more light.

Sorry, for that.
This site is a place where most of GCam mods are posted, for multiple devices and from multiple Devs, instead of even sketchier telegram groups.
The link in question I posted is from bsg19071979 here on XDA.

The biggest difference I can see, is in low light scenes, the google camera takes much better photos, and removes almost all the noise without losing to much detail.
In cases that the Xperia Camera clips the background, the Gcam resolves some detail in the clouds for example.
Overall I don't recommend it.
- Auto focus is it or miss.
- Touch to focus freezes the viewport.
- Video recording doesn't work.
- Selfie camera doesn't work because Sony uses a cheap Samsung sensor.
- Night mode doesn't work properly because Sony doesn't expose all the camera API properties.
- Out of the box the photos are a bit under saturated.
The diferent versions don't make any diffence in the case of the Xperia 5 III, that I know off.
Im my hold phone I needed a camera with a specific name to allow the google camera to access all the camera features in original ROM. More or less what sony does with the creator' color profile for specific apps.
and again.... which version u using....therea6 different.!
i tried the first 3 from the list and i don't like there results at all.!

I'm using rev X of the one ending in MGC. It runs okay. A little sluggish, but I don't have crashes. I did find a profile on the web and loaded it. GCAM on the Xperia cameras is a tool, but not a perfect one. I've learned from experimentation what areas it does well and what times it doesn't. I find it hard to say if it's better or worse than the stock app because it is situation dependent. If you're looking for something that you can replace the stock app with, your expectations will not be met. However, if you're looking for an app that does better in many low light situations where you have to shoot handheld, then it will give you capability you don't have with the stock app.

Disagree with X 5 III taking better photos than Pixel 5. I wish it was true so then it would be no need in Gcam. X 5 III takes good enough photos in perfect light conditions only. That's just my experience (with X 1 III though).

I don't like the quality output straight out of camera. Photos come out underexposed, out of focus, lack of clarity and lack of HDR too often.

This is exactly what I did! I 'm really happy that I was able to get rid of that overpriced, overhyped device. Certainly it is not worth even $800 to my opinion. Just because of underwhelming camera performance alone.
I currently have a Pixel 4a and an Xperia 5 iii. The difference in low light scenes is astonishingly in the Pixel's favor. During the day I really like the Xperia's colors and having multiple zoom levels is great too. But in poor light the $349 Pixel cleans the Xperia's clock. Sure, with a tripod and a static scene I could get a better result on the 5 iii perhaps but in most situations it's not close. Google has bottled smoke or something.

Hi @Code1804
Welcome to the xda family.
I am not a Sammy guy and I can not answer your question but, a quick search seems you might be in for a bit of a challenge.
I found an older thread that talks about using an alternate (second) user instead of profiles.

You might be better off asking your custom ROM developer about it.
Take a look and/or ask for help in the Note 9 thread(s).
