Bypassing Google verification? - General Questions and Answers

I posted over in the Motorola forum, but maybe it'll get more views here.
I have a Motorola One Action (I think so anyway). We bought it to use on a podcast, but only used it twice and it sat in my room for the longest time.
Today I dropped my personal phone and I'd like to pop my Mint Mobile sim card into that Motorola, however it says my phone was reset and I need to verify. I can't figure out which email I used. I tried the one I thought it was with no luck.
I'm the one who reset the phone to make it brand new because I was going to use it for myself. Stupid me I guess.
How do I bypass this activation / FRP so I can use the phone?
I have no money to buy another phone right now, and I don't even own an alarm clock so I have no clue how I'm gonna get up for work lol.

I have got Apex Launcher installed. I can get into settings. I can open Apex Launcher. I can open Chrome. When I get to the part about restarting, I still get stuck at the verify crap.

Well, I've been searching for a LONG time. Watched countless videos and shortly after posting these posts I found this to work:
PHEW! What a load off my mind.. I had no phone and I don't own an alarm clock to wake me up!

you solved the impossible! thx for sharing!

PIN+Swiftkey= locked+Floating Toucher=overiding security=weirdest xperience

hi
yesterday i had faced very weird problem with nexus 5 (rooted with CF-Auto root).. it got locked on me.
What happened was i installed swiftkey on my nexus 5. I had to go out and battery was low so I turned off mobile data and kept it for charging. I dont really lock my nexus when I am at home but whenever I go out I set up PIN for security and its been the same 4 digits number since my first android cell. So this time I went into settings=>Security and set it up. The only change was that instead of usual keyboard, swiftkey opened. So I inserted the number twice.. Nothing weird so far.. right ?...
Well, what happened after that was weird.. I couldnt unlock my nexus. No matter how many time I tried I couldnt unlock it. I can swear that I inserted my usual PIN but it wouldnt unlock. Then I started panicking. After few unsuccessful attempts the usual prompt came so I waited 30 secs and tried again. But no avail. So there was no option but to recover password via gmail, right ? well I wasnt that lucky.. I tried wrong pin for more than 50 times but "forgot password" prompt wouldnt come. (i hadnt taken nandroid backup for last 2 months so i started getting mini heart attacks ) then I tried 40-50 times more.. restarted my cell 3-4 times.. neither would it get locked not it would give me alternate method of unlocking.. thats stupid right ?? :silly:
I couldnt do anything. I checked online and found out that KITKAT DOESNT HAVE ALTERNATIVE OPTION of locking (or unlocking for that matter). Since my mobile data was off (I dont have wifi) I couldnt lock and unlock it using Android Device Manager (ADM) as well. So I was royally screwed ... and only apparent way out would entail data loss :crying:
I could just use camera and nothing else.
So I slept badly thinking that I would factory reset my nexus the next day. And in the morning it suddenly hit me :good:. I had also installed Floating Toucher app yesterday and I could see the floater even on my camera app. So I touched that.. opened quick launch and enabled mobile data. Then went on and locked my nexus using ADM and then I could unlock it with new password. phew...
so it was in all weirdest experience.
Now here are my findings
1) KitKat doesnt have alternative unlocking method
2) Nor does it lock your cell permanently. I mean you could try all permutations and combinations till you unlock it. (my ancient nokia would lock after few wrong tries..) and thats serious flow in system
3) Swiftkey may have screwed me over.
4) Floating Toucher (though proved as my saviour) could bypass system lock and thus one could use (or misuse) it.
Any thoughts on these people ??
Sorry for looooooong post
and sorry for toooooooo long post. I couldnt wrap it up without telling everything.

[Q] S4 Help needed (Warning: Long story)

Hey guys, let me just start off by saying I have spent almost 8 hours straight today trying to figure this out and dig myself out of a hole I've created for myself, that being said, I'm going to try and be as detailed as possible so you guys know EXACTLY where I am and what I've tried. This post looks long but that's because it is. It's pretty much my entire day's worth of trouble typed out. So just bare with me and see if you guys can help me out here!
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S4 model: SGH-M919 it has Android 4.4.2. Now on to the problem: I've had this phone for almost a year now and a few months ago I rooted it. Did a simple Youtube tutorial and used Odin to do the work and everything worked out fine. A couple months down the road (yesterday), after using the phone like a teenager, downloading apps and cluttering it up it started to slow down and not run some apps. After thinking about it I decided to factory reset it. All of my contacts, photos, and videos were backed up on Google so I thought "why not?" Well, this is where $#!% hit the fan.. being rooted then factory reset, right before the phone came online it had me answer two questions about the root. Something to the effect of "Do you want to keep root? (This option is not reversible)" I thought since I wasn't using the features I originally rooted the phone for I figured nah just get rid of the root. So the phone did its T-Mobile boot up and started the Initial setup.
Everything up to to this point was fine until I wanted to log in to my Google account during the setup. Please understand that where I am I have full 4G LTE coverage and have access to a pretty fast and sturdy wifi connection. Well, when it came to the google sign in I entered my email and password and it came up with a message reading "Can't Sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server" (believe me i wish that was the only issue) so after reading that, I thought I'd try with my wifi.. nope. Same thing. Since neither my 4g or wifi worked I thought it was Google's servers so I tried again this morning, same thing. (keep in mind at this point i think my phone isn't rooted anymore.) I call the t mobile store and they give me a technical support number, so I call it and I tell them i cant sign into Google. The gentleman told me he cant do anything because he can tell my phones been rooted. Only thing he suggests is to contact Google, well, the customer care number just tells you go to google.com/support and there's nothing there about my problem.
This is where I dig my hole even deeper. I tried another factory reset and up in the top left corner i still see that root text. Even the rooted android symbol pops up before the Samsung logo or t mobile. Since I saw that I thought "ohh it just didn't get unrooted all the way." I look up ways to completely remove a root and a lot of them require plugin your phone into the computer and using Odin to flash a stock firmware on to the device. I went to plug my phone into the usb port but my computer didn't recognize the usb device, having experienced this a long time ago I searched around for the latest Samsung usb drivers and I installed those. Device still isn't recognized. Let me just note before people tell me to use MTP mode or Developer tools> usb debugging or connection mode.. The only thing that happens when plugging my phone via usb is the phone starts charging and my computer makes the trumpet noise like something is plugged in. Other than that, there is NO notification of it being plugged in. The reason i stress this is because I called Samsung technical support at this point and the guy (not gentleman) treated me like a 5 year old and ran me through all of these options after i told him I already did everything he was suggesting, including downloading Samsung Kies 3 and having it install the drivers. It does not pick up the device either.. at this point I looked up ways to remove the root without the computer. I found out you can just go into the root app "SU" or something and theres a remove root option. I jumped on that opportunity and had it removed. I restarted the phone and all the problems still persist, it even still has the root text on the top left when you factory reset it again. However now, even if you factory reset and select the option "keep root," thinking it would bring back the"SU" app it does NOT.
So lets recap. I have a phone that thinks its rooted and even appears rooted to t mobile but doesn't have any of the root apps or privileges or capabilities to fix my Google log in issue (like the host file in filemanager). And I can't re-root to get that app back because none of my 3 usb ports, 3 different usb cables (one being the cord that came with the phone), or any of the ports/cables on someone else's computer will recognize the darn thing to work on that way! I have all these issues that are supposed to fix each other but I can't do any fixing because they cancel each other out too... I'm at a dead end.
In case this isn't the right forum/website/thread/post area etc.. I have this whole message saved in Microsoft Word document so I can repost it anywhere you guys might suggest better results. Any help/advice will be much appreciated.

Locked out of Galaxy S7, can't afford to lose data on phone, need help now.

Hi,
Yesterday I set a fingerprint lock on my S7. It prompted me to enter a backup password and some other password, both with different requirements (one only had to be 4 letters, one was longer and had a number) and the longer one had to be confirmed whereas the shorter one did not. I set this up and tested it a few times, everything seemed to work great. Later I let my phone idle and it turned the screen off on its own for the first time, ever since then the phone has not been able to recognize my fingerprint. It doesn't even say "No match", it just acts like I'm not even putting a finger on it at all.
Tried over and over and eventually tried the backup password, which for some reason is the shorter one without a number. I put in what I am absolutely sure I put in, and it wouldn't take it. Tried a couple more times, even got so desperate as to emulate potential typing errors I might have made (since no confirmation for that password) and nothing worked.
Eventually I hit the timed lockout and I had to stop trying things then. So I went online and searched and discovered Google's Android Device Manager. I heard that if you lock the phone with it you can unlock it through the same manager and the phone will be unlocked. First thing that was odd was that ADM didn't give me an option to enter a password, just a contact message and phone number. I still put in a message and hit lock, and... nothing changed on ADM at all.
Now my phone shows the stupid message every time I wake it up and every few seconds on the lock screen (I can still attempt to unlock the phone with the password and use phone/camera though), but ADM doesn't even give an option to unlock, just change the locked message. I can't even get rid of the damn lock by changing it to blank. I heard Samsung offers a similar service but I never made a Samsung account and apparently one is required to use it.
Beyond that the only solution I've found is wiping the phone (which I can easily do, because there's an option in ADM for it which presumably works), which I really don't want to do since I have a lot of pictures and data on the phone that aren't backed up that I would absolutely hate to lose.
To make things worse it appears that this issue is specific to my phone/the S7/Samsung phones/something, as I have my old Nexus 4 listed in ADM as well and going through the options for it I see it has the ability to define a password, but no such thing for the S7. I really have no clue where to go from here, tons of googling hasn't found me any method I haven't already tried or can't do.
I'd be so grateful if someone here would at the very least find a way for me to recover data before wiping it to get rid of the lock.

Hi! I seriously might be paranoid

Hi!
Im not sure where to post, plz dont hare if Im postning wrong.
Long story short;
Jan - 2020 bought a new mbp - got hacked. Lost all mail acc etc.
Have had 2 pc wrecked as well.
And My 1+3, iPhone 6s, Nexus 5X.
From three I bought a Xiaomi mi 9 lite.
Poped Up, ~"your no longer admin-isch" after a Day or two.
Okey, is it something with me or old acc or am I in need of medical help was my thought now 6 months later.
Yesterday I've finally had enough and bought and brand new oneplus 7T. After mentioned expercinces I started it in the store, had them set it up and told them about my seriously, now physical worries.
All fine, updated evertyhing turned it off. Had VPN, malwareybytes installed. No wifi, bt, NFC etc activated. Bought free internet with sim-card bc of my maybe mental issues?!
Anyway. Got home, since all above I've done nothing else but visiting play store and https-xda + oneplus forum in app.
That app which I connected to a brand new Gmail (set Up in mentioned store, also why I write here and not there) got acc to My Gmail etc.
Now I found an email changing named mail from "[email protected] to [email protected].
So installed and bought Sd maiden pro. Found worrying similar folders with this bindning sign; "$" though turned the other way. In those folders there are stuff like systemMUI, mui is only Xiaomi??? Or what. This is spinning out of hand now, but Im so freckasouly scared since all above and dont know what anymore.
Have Mcafee internet secururity with VPN since I left the store, got Netguard today since I got worried, and protonVpn since Mcafee dont have a kill switch.
Of we overlook My obvious paranoia, how can I find out of Im out of My head?
I ser things in Sd maiden at /self and emulated like tty and there where a lot exceptions there as well, like /notifications/, /alarms/ etc.
Im at a dead stop now. I must be imagining but since I've Lost all My earlier acc, 6 months of life + a few bucks I am both out of options and Lost Hope.
Anyway I can find out whats okey? I mean, is there supposed to be like 3-4 types of dial apps/logos? 4 kinds of Cinnamon? And why are mi doing here?
Also got 3 yubico key associated with My Google acc.
Quite a few of earlier mentioned phone just lying around which I'd gladly send someone for free IF there are any intresset in investigae, Keep the phone.
Again. What can I do to feel safe? Doctor or any other way?
(Dinner now brb asap)
I didn't read 90% of that.
As an ex security guy, just clean install. Don't restore anything you'll be fine.
The way you're typing is uncomfortable to read, hammering in that you have mental issues and asking confusing unanswerable questions. If you genuinely believe you're paranoid get professional help, there's no harm there, but then regarding the phone you didn't really seem to ask any proper questions. Clean install (or wipe) your OS, and then you're fine. Then step by step setup your phone as you would and try to find the cause of whatever it is that is being suspicious.
That's all I can suggest, but I wish you well, please look after yourself.
Hi,
For your mental health you should be looked at by some proffesional.
For your Tech problem:
Reset the damn Modem change your wifi ssid& password and change also the default password for your modem gateway. If some one hacking you its most likely by your wifi once you got the acces to it you can preety much see any device on the network and if you know your way arround you can do alot with all the devices on network.
Format your hardrive or break into peaces and throw it away buy an ssd/harddisk New OS, firewall on and new account hotmail/apple id and malwarebytes.
Reset your smartphone clean install of OOS and malwarebytes and ofcourse new gamil and two way autehntication activated.

HELP needed. Galaxy 8+ MobileIron lock out.

Sorry if this is in the wrong location but it's been a long time since I've been here and everything looks different with the forum, lol. I couldn't find anything after searching the forum so making this post.
Here's my issue. I have a very old Galaxy S8+ issued by my employer. I left the company back in Jan 2020. Since then my son has been using the phone at the house to play games on and watch YouTube, etc. Whenever it would get running too slow I would just do a factory reset to clean everything out and my son was good to go again. UNTIL YESTERDAY. I did a factory reset like usual but when it restarted and I began the initial set up like you do with a new phone I got a message after connecting to my WiFi that "This device is managed by your organization". It then had a pop up for username/password for MobileIron. Never got that before so only thing I can think is that my old company started using this MDM software sometime between the last time I did a reset and yesterday. I don't have any sign in creds as I don't work for them anymore. Rebooted into "safe mode" to uninstall the app but cannot because the option is grayed out.
Is there any way to root this phone and get rid of the MDM software or install a ROM or something so that the phone is usable again? Obviously, I can't boot the phone up either than in "safe mode" Or is the thing a paperweight now. Just wanted to check before I chuck it in the trash. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I just saw my signature. LMAO! I think it's a little outdated.
