And I have no idea why. Before I downloaded the newest update I upgraded my TWRP to the latest version. After the update I tried first to install SuperSU via google store but didnt work so i downloaded the installable zip and tried through TWRP. All I get is : E: failed to verify whole-file signature; E: signature verification failed.
Tried the old SuperSu that always worked (2.02) but I get the same bug.
I think the problem is that instead of TWRP when i start my phone with start button + vol down it gets into CYANOGEN recovery. I just installed TWRP ver 2.8.5.1 but its not working =/ dont know what to do, help please

You need to resinstall TWRP, just after you have done so, reboot back to TWRP instead of rebooting the whole system. Once back in TWRP you can flash SuperSU again, then reboot and you should be fine. Also make sure you have the cyanogen recovery option unticked under developer settings.

However, when i click on "Reboot to Recovery" it does not work) I have recovery installed in TWRP manager (ver 2.8.6.0) maybe i can do sth with this ?
Edit: I was able to start TWRP manager, now I'm not again because it says "root is required for this app"

Once it flashes, are you rebooting back into recovery first (without switching off, fully rebooting, anything else)? You should boot into TWRP and then you can reboot fully, it should be fine. If you just reboot out of TWRP after flashing the it gets overwritten by the stock cyanogen recovery.
After completing the TWRP flash in ABD run the following command.
Code:
adb reboot recovery

Im doing what Im told, so - After the phone has booted back up, turn it off. Now to enter your newly installed custom recovery, hold volume down + power. The phone should boot into recovery mode.
Wish I wasnt so braindead on this field =/ and the cyanogen recovery welcomes me every time
okay so instead of fastboot reboot command i should write the one you gave me? gonna try
EDIT: ERROR, DEVICE NOT FOUND
yeah, i was doing it wrong but i did it right this time and it is still not working. Have my usb debugging on
Is it possible that after the update i dont have the bootloader anymore?

Okay. I tried and tried but failed. I have no idea what to do anymore. Downloaded new drivers for pc and new fastboot, tried like 15times to flash twrp on my phone and seemingly it worked but when I rebooted, turned it off and on again with volume - it's always cyanogen recovery there, never twrp. I downloaded twrp manager but it won't work because it requires root and I can't root because manager won't work. Saw on oneplus forum that some people have exact same problem but there S been no solution so far and I have no idea what to do anymore. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to hold start+volume- keys after I flash twrp and reboot the phone using the code, so instead of having to turn it off and on again maybe I ll be able to get into the twrp instantly and it won't get overwritten by cyanogen recovery.

OK so i am experiencing the EXACT same issues. When I go into Fastboot Mode all I get is a small cyanogen head forllowed by the words 'FASTBOOT MODE' I get no menu to navigate or anything. TWRP appears to install but I get Cyanogen recover every time. If I use the toolkit and go to fastboot mode it sees it as an unlocked fastboot device but will not allow me to root the device.

After flashboot reboot do not let phone turn on again but use the start + volume- combination, it will take you to twrp. Found the solution finally but I still have some issues with graphics and Google account =/

OK, I know this is a problem that many before had and I've researched the subject thoroughly. But I've only found ways to recover your phone from the soft-brick (one of those fake rubber bricks used in movies:laugh status which was something I did by myself by flashing a stock recovery via odin.
Now my problem is a different one: I have updated my s6 to stock 6.0.1 and all went fine. I then rooted the phone by installing SpaceX kernel and went on to flash recovery via odin. That is when the problem occurred and I've not been able to solve it. I tried flashing also via flashify but with the same result, i.e. phone frozen at the samsung galaxy s6 screen with the damn "recovery is not ......".
What could I try? Anyone knows how to circumvent this issue?
Thanks for any help.
Luca
Just flash this TWRP http://www.mediafire.com/?16c1zxj8gdz3mj4 (AP in Odin with F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot checked), it will boot automatically to recovery,
You will have a working recovery, but it can't reboot or shutdown the phone.
For that, click to "Advanced", "Terminal", and when the keyboard shows up, just type "reboot" or "halt"(without the ") et click on "enter".
Reboot: reboots the phone (the phone will reboot in system)
Halt: shutdown the phone

Thanks: I will try that right away and report back here. Is the procedure of rebooting and shutting down the phone permanent or is it just the 1st boot (I sense it is a permanent thing, but I hope it isn't). If, later on I flash a custom rom and then re-flash the recovery, will this thing go away?
Why is this seandroid thing happening? Are you able to explain it to me?
It's not permanent
Just the first boot. "It erase a boot script that say to your device to boot into recovery" (small explanation, it's not exactly that).
This happen sometimes when you try to update the Su binary via the SuperSU app (it try to reboot the device into recovery, but sometimes it doesn't work and the device is "stuck" on the recovery)
This message shows up on every boot if you have a custom kernel, and if you boot on recovery, it will maybe shows up (depend of your recovery).
It was stucking on this screen because the recovery that you tried to flash is not compatible with marshmallow bootloader. The link in my first answer is a working marshmallow TWRP, for S6 (not S6 edge/+).

Alas, it seems that it is permanent! It doesn't reboot into anything (neither system nor recovery. Haven't tried download, but I assume it would be the same thing). Furthermore it gets stuck and needs to be rebooted by pressing voldown and power. then it turns on into recovery again. It is a small price to pay, so no worries, but I always like to understand why things happen!
Could I have done another mistake?
Out of interest what random recovery did you give him? lol
Try arter97s mod of twrp 3.0.0-0
http://arter97.com/browse/exynos7420/recovery/twrp/g920fi/
Seems to be the best working mod of latest twrp at the moment. No issues booting etc, just no USB otg support currently.

Haha, I was just wondering since it was just a mediafire link saying flash this.
Glad that arters recovery worked a bit better for you.
Recovery's are a bit hit and miss at the moment. That's the best one I've found so far.
I still haven't even got marshmallow, still rocking the latest lollipop which suffers similar problems.

I have flashed TWRP 3.3.1 successfully . after that I rebooted into TWRP and it does not enter its recovery UI. After that, I tried to reboot the phone but it goes to recover screen again without entering recovery UI. I can't open my phone now. please help.
At the beginning, after flashing the twrp it was showing only TWRP screen not the options. then i rebooted the system and the phone rebooted without any issue (till now, phone was ok). then I again flashed the twrp but it remained the same. after that i tried different command from the Powershell. (fastboot boot twrp.img) and it showed downloading. after waiting for 5 min, I just closed the PowerShell and tried to reboot. from that time I cannot boot my phone anymore. then i again flashed the recovery but could not boot the phone. when i triy to boot the phone it only shows the recovery screen. I've attached the commands that I used to flash TWRP. Please help me to solve the problem.

Now since you are bootlooping we would need to install MIUI back again, to do this download the MiFlash Tool and the fastboot ROM for the latest MIUI, now copy it's file path and paste in MiFlash Tool, also make sure it detects your phone, now in the bottom right corner there would be an option like flash_everything_except_internal (similar to this) so that the internal storage isn't erased, now flash the ROM and let the phone boot up atleast once.
Once that's done use this TWRP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...unofficial-twrp-3-3-1-proper-t3933531/page4), it has a fix for the encryption bug and won't lead to a bootloop (the password/code/pattern asked in it is the same as the phone's), now you have TWRP installed and running
Thanks for your support. I followed the instruction and bootup the phone. But I'm afraid of flashing TWRP ?
It worked. I installed TWRP without any issue . Thanks again ?
TWRP 3.3.1 has bug, reinstall TWRP 3.2.3 and boot to recovery and then reboot to system.

The password is on the phone lock screen? In that case your device must have got encrypted, you might have to format all partitions and then flash with Mi Flash.Do have a try with MiFlash first, might help if it's not encrypted. Also make sure you used the right commands to flash the recovery, and use OrangeFox or Peter's.
My phone got stuck at TWRP Loop!!
So, there is what i did...
I flashed Samsung a7 firmware ANDROID 10 [download from firja] and it worked. I needed to root my phone and tried Magisk new app.
But, with new Firmware I did not had TWRP installed, so I flashed TWRP with oden as instructed in this POST [BTW, I followed first method , not the *****OREO ROOT INSTRUCTIONS:***** ].
** TWRP version is 3.2.3-1_ashyx **
After that my phone got stuck at TWRP Loop.
Phone will not boot to normal , only BOOTLOOP to TWRP. Most of the time TWRP doesn't load fully and TWRP screen seams Black Line [in horizontal axix, MY phone display fine, it seems come from The TWRP!! ].
So, I am kinda STUCK at this TWRP Loop and TWRP load at it LOGO nothing more.
I tried every possible KEY combination to get to the fastboot mode/download mode but failed.
One or TWO time I was able[or it did it self!] to boot into TWRP (TWRP loaded but , with BLACK line) , i tried to enter download mode but failed.
So, what can i do?
-Thanks
I got the same problem, i did this: Power + volume down next when it restarted fast pressed v+ and v- and plug in the cable before it showed samsung logo

Nothing to worry and don't panic,
I've been facing problem like this.
To enter bootloader / download mode. With USB Cable plugged You must press and hold Power + Vol Down button then count it for 7-8 seconds, after that immediately release Power button, and press Vol Up + Down. Repeat this step if fail. U will see Download mode.
Regards.

Hi, Bennie from Holland here, with the same problem: tried to flash Twrp to the Samsung A750FN and now stuck in not working Twrp logo, flashing for 2 seconds and further a black screen< The fastboot using Odin can be used via the method described by szimin22, bur the adb fastboot gives no response. Does someone know the correct trwp version for this mobile or a firmware file that can be flashed by Odin?

Now the return to the phone itself and we are home! any suggestions, pls give us a chance to not smash the a7 through the kitchenwindow
So, I flashed my samsung a10s with an unofficial twrp posted, and everything went fine.
But when I tried to flash a GSI (I tried lineage, and the AOSP ones), everytime I reboot it brings me to the recovery menu. I cannot boot into download mode or anything, it straight up puts me into TWRP.
I do seem to get a `invalid argument /metadata` sort of error
Any idea how to fix this?

First, flash stock rom.
Then install twrp, do a wipe and a factory reset. Install GSi image but do not reboot to system. Turn of the phone and boot to recovery again. Then do a wipe and reboot to system.
Do not enter to recovery again, idk why but entering recovery breaks the rom.

U can't enter Download mode with the power button. Power off the phone. Hold vol up and vol down then plug it into a pc. Do not release vol buttons until blue download screen appears.
