I have around 50 Gb of music stored in the Music folder on the phone.
When I "OK Google" and ask the phone to play stored music it always goes to Pandora and starts to stream music instead.
Is there some exacting command that will make the phone play my stored music, and can I modify that command to play a specific band? For example, can I have the phone play stored songs by the band Tool for example? I have 3 or 4 music players on the phone I can use.
Also, as an aside, when I try to use YouTube music to play my stored content, it takes about a minute to load the 5000 songs, which it does every time I open the app. Then, it takes about 30 seconds to start playing a selected song, and 30 seconds between each and every song. (I get the circling icon each time). I've factory reset the phone figuring there was a glitch, but the issue still exists.

While listening to music and working out, whenever the work out app notifies me of a milestone (such as number of miles ridden), the music app immediately skips to the next song. I have tried this with multiple music apps (Rocket Player, Samsung Music, etc) and multiple work out apps (MapMy Ride, Runtastic, etc) and it happens with all of them However, if I disable C-Locker, the problem goes away. Is there a C-Locker configuration I need to change to prevent this from happening with C-Locker enabled? I am running C-Locker Pro on a Samsung Gallery S6. Thanks.
I'm using stock marshmellow from lg. google play music pauses the song when the screen turns off. usually between 30 seconds and 2 minutes after the screen turns off. I'm not exactly sure if it pauses the song or the audio just cuts off. I've added google play music to ignore battery optimizations and that didn't help.
another issue I'm having is after I reboot the phone, play music doesn't detect my songs. the sd card is mounted but there is no music in play music. sometimes remounting the sd card doesn't work and I have to reboot. also, after rebooting, my playlist is empty.
I use Car Tunes as my default music player. All my mp3s are stored on a USB flash drive. When I first insert the flash drive the app reads all the music and everything works great. The issue is when I turn the vehicle off the next time I start it all the songs are added a second time. The library shows duplicates of every song and gives me an error every time a new track plays. If I clear the app data then reload the library all is good until I shut off the vehicle and turn it on again. Sometimes, it can show every song three or four times even though the file only exists once. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I like the appearance of Car Tunes App and the voice controls. I don't want to switch to another music app. Thanks again...
I use Google Play Music as a music source. Historically, I would stream music in my car, connected via BT, and when I turned my car off, the music would stop. The next time I started the car, Google Play Music would resume. Since the update to Oreo, when I start the car up, the phone will often times start playing from the built-in music app instead (whatever music file it can find on the phone, sometimes the stock music tracks that came with the phone). I seem to have less than a 50% chance of it resorting to the music player, rather than properly resuming Google Play Music. I've tried setting Google Play Music as the default music app, I've turned off all the power management for GPM, but nothing helps. I've even been sitting at a stop light, play a video in facebook (which causes GPM to pause while audio from the video is being played), and then when the video stops, the music player will start playing a track from the phone, rather than GPM resuming. I never had this issue on Nougat, it started with Oreo. I was in the Oreo beta and reported it, but that beta was a farce.
Has anyone else experienced this? Have you fixed it? It's driving me crazy! (no pun intended)
this is driving me nuts and I'm literally about to print a return label and go back to the iPhone,
I'm not a massive fan of iPhone but it just works!
this on the other hand not so much, okay, so;
if I pair my phone by Bluetooth to my car or the work van the Spotify will absolutely refuse to autoplay music! every single time I set off which is about 30 times a day as I'm a delivery driver, phone has to come out my pocket, unlocked and press play,
then after the second song I don't get any more metadata updates, it just sticks to the first song.
I thought this was a Spotify issue so I tried Google play music, the metadata is spot on, updates every track, but it still refuses to play music automatically, even though the option is enabled in the apps settings, and also Google assistant becomes ignorant after about 10 minutes.
basically if I ask her to play a track, she'll confirm and say yeah okay playing this song on Google play music, doesn't happen though.
Same if I don't use Bluetooth, but if my phone is unlocked it works perfectly
