I have a rooted OnePlus 9, running Oxygen0S 13, Build Number LE2115_11_F.17 and I'm being stalked by the Wifi calling quick settings tile.
It keeps popping up as the first tile in quick settings. I keep removing it, and it keeps returning. On OxygenOS12 it would do that only on reboot, so I lived with it, but this is getting ridiculous. Is there a way to completely remove this tile? Or prevent this behavior?
As I said, I'm rooted, so I'm open to all suggestions and solutions.
Thanks.
Yes! This is driving me nuts. I don't use WiFi calling but everything I go back it is there. Its worse now as they have the two big tiles I use for WiFi and bluetooth on and off and WiFi calling is always there!
Trueee! this is annoying! Everytime you restart the phone, appears there. Or after 24H. No matter if you remove it, still appears automatically. I don't want it. Waste of space.
same issue here 10 pro oxygen os 13. I have to remove it after each reboot
Same issue here with Oppo find x3 Neo, was doing it with android 12 and still do it with 13, each reboot it appears and take a huge space since it's now a rectangle, also it messes up all the layout it's annoying. Is there any way of suppressing a quick tiles permanently ?
Same issue on OnePlus 8T, Oxygen OS Android 13, Dec 2022 security update
This is caused by some mobile operators somehow forcing the option to show if their sim card is installed. The only solution I've found is disabling the sim. I'm lucky the problematic sim wasn't the one I use for mobile data.
Devs out there: Isn't there a way to solve this issue, maybe using xposed?

Hi All,
I've rooted my phone and installed the JF1.43 modified firmware, and also replaced the stock bootloader with hardSPL. Everything worked exactly like the instructions, and I'm very happy and grateful with the results. I notice two issues:
1. Applications that are used recently, but not the last application used, sometimes crash when I bring the phone out of sleep. I get a notification that this or that application has crashed, with the option to Close or Wait. It doesn't happen every time, or in any reproducible way, as near as I can tell.
2. The "T-mobile Hotspot" application appears to be broken. It does not connect when I'm in range of a t-mob hotspot, and the nearby hotspot location search feature is broken; it dumps me out to a search in the browser.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? They're not dealbreakers at all, but I'd like to get to the bottom of them. Is there a log file that will tell me what's happening when the applications crash?
Thanks for the help, and the great work you're doing here.
I haven't experienced #1 and #2 has never worked for me at a TMO hotspot.
I have experienced the forced close of apps, but not too often.
I'm running RC33 and 1.42 (couldn't install 1.43 for some reason, something about not able to validate files).
And if any consolation, T-Mobile Hotspot app never worked for me, even before the hacking.
Sounds like you need to perform a wipe. Should fix everything.
Well, except the hotspot app, that never worked.
Its always a good idea to wipe when you change builds.
I have a Galaxy SIII mini which has been hacked 4 times in the last 8 months that I have had it. Usually, the first 3 times, were kids doing pranks, turning on my bluetooth, etc but this last hack was malicious. Started turning on my GPS, bluetooth, and camera flash light then progressed to changing my system language and finally making it so that my sim couldn't connect to any cell towers. I have tried app locks, but this last time inspite of two seperate app locks, he succeed with ease to change my settings. I also subscribed to a VPN with a NAT firewall and that didn't help at all either. Now I have redid the OS again, this time installing CM 11 and I welcome any suggestions on how I can stop this from happening all of the time. Thank you.

what kind of hack are you talking about? is someone using your phone, or remotely accesing it?
remotely accessing it. no one has physical access to my phone.
You should set a encryption password for your phone and use the app : Lockdown pro to restrict access to everyone who don't know the password.
Stay tuned for my first CM11 theme soon.
What do you mean by encryption password? You mean to encrypt my phone?
I did install that app. One thing that I really like about it is it's ability to stop the installation of apps which is what I think that the hacker is doing: installing some sort of app on my phone.
Settings > Security Settings - Encrypt phone > see instructions there .
@Gaon101
Stay tuned for my first CM11 theme soon.
After doing more reading online, I believe that the hacker(s) may have their own 'cell network' and may be exploiting my phone whenever it connects to it. How can I prevent this from happening if that is the case?
Why is this a problem?
A: Your phone will likely have trouble connecting to public WiFi at airports, Hotels, Business for BYOD programs, etc.
802.11r is what allows you to seamlessly hop from one Access Point to another without bother. Hotels, Corporate offices, etc can't possibly use just one WiFI access point to provide WiFi coverage to all areas so instead they use multiple WiFi access points with the same network name but it's 802.11r that allows you to remain connected while you move between WiFi access points!
I have tested OOS 10.0.06, OOS 10.3.3, OOS 10.3.2 I have additionally tested these rom's with Revolution Remix as well as latest Smurf kernel available on XDA; so I have tried Stock and Custom and am here to report; 802.11r is broken on all of these builds and to really bad extent as well! So much so, that it appears my router is no longer able to assign the device an IP address after to many hops as I am eventually presented with the message in WiFi Settings of OOS "Access point temporarily full"
Steps to re-produce;
In my home I have set up 3 AP flashed with OpenWRT working together harmonious with 802.11r.
I am able to make one round from Access Point 1>2>3 but when I come back around; 3>2>1, I remain connected to Access Point 2, in the Access Point 1 zone. If I manually try to force a connection to access point 1 then I am presented with either no message at all, just can' connect of "Access point temporarily full"
The only way to resolve the issue is with a reboot of all routers. Simply rebooting the phone does not resolve the issue!?
Now I am back on OOS 9.5.13 GM21AA and I am able to approach anyone of these AP zones any number of times and it is successfully 802.11r transitioning seamlessly as it should without any bother.
All routers are flashed with OpenWrt and software pushed to the device was from the un-brick tools found in the New/Guides Thread of XDA.
Let me know if you need me to test new test builds.

Update 2, Seems this is an issue is widespread For Q on One Plus devices...

Update 3, A One Plus Engineer has reached out to me; I have provided them with logs for both OOS 10 and Pie for comparison using their logkit tool. Was able to re-produce the issue 7 times in the logs provided.
Fingers crossed this gets fixed in the next update
Update: Sept 30 2020; still broken on OOS Beta 18FW...
Update: Oct 05 2020;
Solved my 802.11r issue on my end currently on Open Beta 18.
The issue is/was using 802.11r with 802.11w Management Frame Protection set to Optional or Required. For 802.11r to function properly on OOS Q you have to set 802.11w Management Frame Protection to disabled (default) in router settings.
On OOS Pie 802.11r works fine with 802.11w Management Frame Protection set to Optional or required... So there is still a regression here and perhaps we need to open up another bug report.
Its also worth mention; 802.11w also breaks Volte and VoWIFI (WiFi calling) on Q where on Pie, it does not.
UPDATE OCT 9 2020; seems 802.11r is still broken. While disabling 802.11w helps, it's still failing to seamlessly transfer and dropouts are occurring.
Back to PIE I go!
I bought an Asus Zenfone 8 awhile back, running Android 11.
My prior Android phones let me use Google Maps and navigation while the phone's display was off - voice prompts and GPS were still coming in with the display off.
On my Zenfone 8, even with "maximum performance" settings and making sure that there are no limits on Google Maps, when I start a navigation and get going, if I turn the display off, I very soon get a "GPS signal lost" announcement.
I've re-checked all my settings, and everything is set correctly to avoid this, yet it still happens.
Some folks in other forums have said that in newer versions of Android, this is the default behavior and cannot be changed. That seems kind of ridiculous, given how many people use the voice prompts without the display being on.
Anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to figure out of it's a Zenfone 8 issue, or an Android 11 issue, or a bad setting somewhere.
I upgraded to Android 12 today, and this problem seems to have magically gone away. I wonder - is it an issue with Android 11, with Asus's version of Android 11, or settings that upgrading may have changed?
Hello there!
I came here to ask for help in a helpless case.
Android 11 on Nokia phones has broken GPS for a long time and there seems to be no interes in either Nokia or Google to fix it.
I talked numerous times with Nokia support to no avail.
Nature if the issue:
While using navigation feature of google maps, whenever GPS signal is lost, google maps will "jump" and won't continuously track location, even if I leave the area of limited GPS signal availability.
To further clarify:
1. Go to underground garage
2. Set up route to an address
3. Start navigation
4. Observe "signal lost" prompt, and "--" in speed indicator.
5. Start driving, leave underground garage
6. Observe the app, when the phone should regain navigation capability it does not happen.
7. Location tracking is non-continuous and "jumps", speed changes back and forth from "--" to different values like "54 km/h"
8. This issue persist regardless of actual GPS signal, app restart, even phone reboots.
9. Only way to alleviate the issue is to long press Vol. Down and Power button for a hard reset.
I tried contacting google support - to no avail, also talked with Nokia support many times.
Issue occurs on both my and my wife's Nokia 8.3 5G, also occurred on my previous Nokia Phones.
Android 11, most updated one.
I have developer functions enabled to change icon shapes, what can I do to try and fix the issue?
Please help me this is so annoying
