Q? Stop Market from Auto Update Downloaded apps

I noticed this morning (tnt 3.1.2) that some of my apps (like youtube) were updated automatically and then a notice popped up. I did go into market and change "notifications" to "no" but it does not say anything about turning off auto update. Am I missing something.
Thanks
Under Market settings for Notifications, I only have the options to:
1) Notify me
2) Do not notify me
I chose Notify me. I don't get automatic downloads.
On the apps that you do not want to get auto-updates, open them in the market app and make sure that the check box is cleared for "Allow Auto Updates"

That is the ticket! You have been thanked
Thought I'd point out I had a slightly different Market settings screen ('had' is the big word, it changed to be like 'normal' now with only the notifications options in it).
Before, mine had a setting above the notifications setting about Market filtering (I didn't touch it, though, was too busy and just thought I'd see what was there since this is the new Market screen).
It's gone now and can't get it back (I don't know what settings were under it).

Same thing happened to me! The filter was there one moment, and gone the next...
Perhaps a new beta feature not yet ready to be unlocked for all?

[Q] How to clear messages/notifications?

I'm quickly building up a huge number of emails and messages that I've dealt with on my phone but then have to manually delete from the watch. I appreciate that one can clear all data from each notification type, using Smart Connect on the phone, but I'd love to find an app or a command that would automatically clear all data (messages, notifications, etc), say every 24 hours or so. Or failing that, at least something which would allow a quick, more elegant way of manually clearing the watch. Can anybody recommend anything? Many thanks.
You could use the Smartwatch2 app on the smartphone, enter the menu of each SW2 installed app and tap Clear all events, Clear history or Clear log, etc.
It's not really comfortable but at last you don't have to perform this operation directly on the SW2.

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I'm doing at the moment, through Smart Connect on the phone. But I just counted; in order to clear email, messaging and Facebook requires 17 commands. It really does surprise me that a more elegant system is not built into the watch. Surely everyone who owns the watch wants to be able to clear away (or to have cleared away) messages as they're finished with. Most odd.
You go into the notification app in your smartwatch then push the menu button and after the option to clear all the notifications (the open letter).

What exactly do you mean by "the notification app"? If you mean the little orange circle that indicates new notifications; those disappear anyway as soon as they've been looked at. But the notifications still remain on the watch, so one still has two go into each app in turn (email, text messages, Facebook, etc) and clear them. However, pressing the open letter does nothing at all. The notifications remain. The only way I can find of deleting anything with the watch is message-by-message, individually, including confirmation step. Or, as in my first post in this thread, data can be deleted using the phone through the "Smart Connect" app.
I didn't understand that you wanted to clear all the datas (and not the notifications) in the watch's apps.
In that case, yes you must do on the phone through the smart connect app.

Thanks. I guess it's the term "notifications" that's confusing. What I want to clear, regularly, preferably automatically, are my email messages, text messages, and Facebook messages, so that those apps are empty. What I'm hoping to find is an app or a macro command that will either clear those messages automatically, or will allow me to do so in one go, rather than - as is the case at the moment - app by app through Smart Connect.

[Q] Repeated "Alarm Interlocking" notifications

Hello,
I have a problem that I cannot seem to solve. Every minute or so, my phone will automatically open an app called "Personal Collect Board" and present me with the following notification :
"If Alarm interlocking is ON, this application starts when the alarm ends. You can change Alarm interlocking from the set button or Menu key."
In the settings page, the interlocking is clearly set to off. I am not sure what has happened and cannot find a way to disable it. I cannot delete the app because it is a stock app. I have no plans to root this phone because it is a Japanese phone and I am not confident in my language skills to go through those menus. Force stopping the app yields no change in the frequency of notifications. It also cannot be disabled.
Phone model - AQUOS SHARP SHL23
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

did you try clearing cache and data for the app? (if possible)
other than that, i can only suggest the dreaded factory reset.

Thanks! There are options to clear the cache and also to clear the data. Clearing either does nothing to the frequency of the notifications. However, I have found that whilst charging the notifications are much, much more frequent. Does that shed any light on whats going on?

Not really, plus I have no direct experience with this app.

Question Smartthings app.

Hi. I've recently just got the Flip3 a few days ago and have noticed that Smartthings has been permanently running in the background since setting the phone up. The confusing thing is that according to the Galaxy Store and Play Store the app isn't installed. I can't even see it in the apps list. Any ideas on where it may be hiding and how to kill it? Thanks
@The-Observer77
Go to Settings > Apps. When you see "My Apps", tap on the three bar icon just to the right.
Once the drop down appears, toggle to where "System" apps are included.
Then, either scroll down to see the Smart Things app (or use the search bar). It's a system app that's not going to appear in your app drawer.
However, there is a user-interface app that can be installed from the Galaxy App Store or the Google Play Store.
@KOLIOSIS
Hi. I've looked where you said and the only options I see when I tap the 3 dots are the following:
Permission manager, Special access and Reset app preferences.

Look down just a bit further, where you see your listed apps....... It will literally say "Your Apps"....... Tap to the right of that & you'll see the toggle I'm talking about..
@KOLIOSIS
Call it a momentary lapse in concentration. Found it right where you mention. Hopefully clearing the cache and data will stop it using so much battery. Thanks.

No problem, it's definitely in a weird place......
IIRC, this placement of the toggle for system apps was originally right where you were looking until Samsung's flavor of Android 11 rolled out.
Seems illogical to me as well, as if Samsung doesn't want anyone to have easy access to system app info.
I'm guessing the only way you're going to be able to stop the app from using battery is to use a package disabler app, or, disable it w/an ADB command.
@KOLIOSIS
Clearing the cache and data on SmartThings seems to have worked. Battery life has vastly improved now.

Question widgetupdatet and musicproxy

I can successfully run widgetupdatet and musicproxy on my uis7862 unit.
But I think i need to make it start at boot/wakeup and also make it not battery optimized
So for start at boot/wake up, i turn it on with User - application. But this make widgetupdater app show up everytime when unit boot up, which i prefer it to hidden
For battery optimized setting, I don't have battery option from my setting menu.
May I have your advice on this?
@KёniG
Thanks
Hello.
The newest firmware doesn't have battery settings. Install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut and find "Settings suggestions". Launch it and type in the search field "Battery".

cool, thanks. Let me try this app on my unit for battery setup part
May I know how about the startup part, anyway I can make the app screen do not popup and make a more silent startup?
(for my firmware, I can make app startup automatically in settings -> user -> application settings
Thanks again
@KёniG
I've switched to paid version and turn on "silent start" seems it will just flash then go away which is good now.
However I don't find the way to open the app to change settings anymore (don't see the icon at notification menu) . need to wipe out the app data to get back to setting screen

My answer above is about silent start up.
If you have the restricted notification bar it is required to reinstall the app to enter settings. Silent mode is not appropriate way for you.

Thanks, so either I can still choose silent startup but need to reinstall app if i need to change settings
Or
I dont make it silent startup but i will see the setting screen everytime the unit starts?
and one last thing
After I use musicproxy+widgetupdater. When I use my wheel button - "mode" to change the source, it will go through radio, Phone, Bluetooth music, then my specified music player, then stopped if i press "mode" again. Originally, the next app is the map and then loop back to radio. Is it normal behaviour?
Thank you so much
Played a bit more, seems AIMP is working fine to loop the button cycle.
Your problem got solved?

silent startup still make the app no longer configurable but is ok as I don't think need to always configure that often.
For wheel button issue, I find out is my specific app (KKBox) issue. If I change to AIMP or another music app then is working fine to cycle the sources.
And i think a setting which is quite useful for me is "Multiple music app" which will show current playing app info in that widget area
