Instagram killing battery

I've had my phone ever since 4.4, this only started happening recently. Instagram is always at the top of the list now. I used to get 4-6 SOT now I only get 1-2 hours. Anyone else having this annoying problem?

I sometimes get it, a restart fixes it. Though it can be annoying because you won't notice that it's doing it until you realize your battery is going down faster than normal.

I think it stated happening ever since the last update on instagram not really sure though

Pretty sure it's been the last few updates since it happened on my n4 too before the n5 came out.

Do you use the camera inside Instagram? If so, then stop using it.
Try clearing cache/data of instagram and reinstall it after a reboot.

The problem is that when a camera app like the one that allows users to click pictures or Skype is used, it continues to run in the background and uses CPU cycles. This not only leads to the battery drain but the phone also heats up.
Instagram uses the camera.

My Honor 6x stock ROM will drain up to 40% of battery per night of screen off with WIFI on. Android system uses around 900mAH of battery per night of standby! More specifically, the HwChrService, which I heard is useless, uses more than 500mAH (check screenshot).
Any solutions?

Me too faced the same issue and it's resolved after disabling "app twin".

sounds strange

You should check what app is consuming more battery (probably it has the permission to be in the background even when screen is off)

I checked it, it's "HwChrService" and it's a system app so I can't stop it from running in the background. Moreover that app seems to be completely useless...

the "HwChrService" u mention barely uses battery in my device so consider formatting ur phone that might help u.....

Received today FW update for GW4 in NLD.
Update has size of 107,02 MB and is reported to bring system stability and system reliability.
Just installed. No changes detected yet, too soon to notice improved battery performance.
Still Android 11, security patch 1 Jan 2022

all calendar complication are bugged system one too it shows icon of calendar insted od date or icon of watch instead of digital time saad

Edit2: after rebot it seems to be working fine so far :X

I charged my watch to 100% last night, noticed the update so installed that just before bed. I woke up to 17% battery left.
I did a reset, I hope this is not the shape of things to come..

Nah something is still quacked so far aod on custom watch face freez few times and go total Black on screen two times it's quacking sad how useless Samsung is.

Aod is still broken for example : p and my watch go late today once even on active watch face not aod xD complications are still bugged it's a mess... will tets it on another watch face tomorrow hope it is jus a problem witch this one

How is the Battery Life on R870XXU1-EVB4 after a few weeks?

i can't disable bbattery saving option from the watch....just from the phone....Do you noticed the same?

I haven't disabled or uninstalled any of the apps that came with the phone and the phone is really smooth and I am getting really good battery. My overnight idle drain last night (9 hrs) was .45%/hr and it sits now at .53%/hr.

I wish my standby was that low. I'm at 1.1%/hr right now. Not in a super strong signal area though.

It's a Google phone. Not much to debloat, is there?

Nope. That's one reason people get Pixels

I uninstalled a couple of apps I will not use, and was only able to disable one or two more. But if you really need to you can use ADB, or a GUI app utilizing ADB to do the same. Remember that in most circumstances when you "delete" an app it is really not deleted but just made unavailable to user number 0 (zero) which is the main user = you!

Debloating a pixel for smoothness and better battery life? Ugh... This isn't the early 2000's dude. Placebo is awesome though.

That is the switch I am using but it acts weird after reaching the pause capacity. Are you using stock kernel or a custom kernel?

I'm using the same default switch on the stock (rooted) kernel.

The switch worked sporadically. I started using the 4300 switch and idle has been working perfect now.

The app finally started to work consistently after installing the latest Android 13 QPR1 Beta

Restricting charging current to the battery, putting a limit on the battery voltage or capacity at where charging will be shut off, reducing or disabling charging when the battery temperature reaches a certain point, and if supported enable the ability to disconnect the battery from the charger while using the charger to power the phone. All for managing the health of the battery.
