Hi, since yesterday I've been noticing something weird on my Motorola Edge Plus 2022: in the notification bar it appeared the notification icon and it doesn't go away. I tried removing all the permission from my apps but it doesn't disappear. From the settings doesn't look like there's any app polling my location and through the active services I tried stopping what's running but to no avail. If I turn my location off and on again it disappears. I really don't know what to do, it's something so weird I never saw before. Thanks!
EDIT: after a while the phone starts polling my location again and nothing appears to be using it in the settings or privacy dashboard. I tried a scan with Malwarebytes and there are no security concerns.

Hi, my problem is that every time i turn the screen off the gps goes on. If i lock the screen and turn it on after five seconds the gps icon is active on the status bar.
At first I thought it was some misbehaving app, but now I've frozen almost all apps using the permission ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, but the problem is still there.
The application using the gps appears to be google maps, is this behavior normal? I don't have latitude activated, autosync is off.
I keep gps on because I have seekdroid installed and on gingerbread apps can't self-enable gps
You don't per chance have Tasker installed or some other location based widget on your home screens do you?
If you do have a location widget working (Like Lattitude or Loopt) there is probably a setting to check to tell it not to automatically turn on location.
Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is just my phone or not, but I can't seem to disable the data connection outside of the widget from the notification bar.
I first noticed the problem when I was attempting to create a profile that would turn off the data connection and back on every 15 minutes, but it failed to do anything.
Afterwards, I tried out some apps such as Widgetsoid2.x and put Mobile Data and 2G/3G onto the widget. However, I noticed that turning off the data from the widget would show it being off on the widget but it'll remain on in the notification bar. If i turn it off through the notification bar, the widget on the homescreen would be off. However, clicking the homescreen widget to turn it on would bring up the Mobile Network Settings screen with a toast saying, "Enable Data First".
Anyone else got this problem or have a solution?
Its not just you, I have profiles setup using Llama to switch WiFi on and off depending on where I am and of course I have it turn data off when WiFi is on.
Now I'm not sure if its a glitch related to turning it off manually, but it doesn't seem to turn back on when out of range of WiFi despite having a rule setup to do that. Yet other rules work perfectly. I just assumed it was a bug with Llama and figured I could like with it.
I have a Samsung Focus with Mango installed. On a recent trip, in an effort to conserve battery, I turned off most of the background tasks (settings > applications > background tasks).
To try to turn them back on, I went back to that location and checked the box "Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it". I then went to the app, opened it, but was not asked to turn background task on.
Does anyone know how to properly re-activate background tasks for particular apps?
Try pin the apps and also open the apps and see if there is a second push option. If so turn that on. If that doesn work, uninstall andre install.
I had the same issue with the BBC app as well as groupon. Once I reinstalled one I pinned and refreshed.
The app should itself have a setting to enable or disable the background agent; manually re-enabling it should work.
By the way, for future reference you can easily disable background agents temporarily by putting the phone in Battery Saver mode. This also disables automatic email syncing (another huge battery user) though you can still manually sync.
Hi guys.
Just updated my galaxy s7 to android 7.0 nougat.
For some reason the alarm icon is constantly displayed in the notification bar.
How do I get rid of it?
I have heard about system ui tuner.
It should allow me to remove the icon. But I can't enable ui tuner.
I have hold down on the settings icon for 10 seconds. It still doesn't show up.
Please help. Thanks.
Deleted all alarms even if they are not active?
No I haven't deleted them. I need them. I just don't need to be reminded that I have alarms active.
Before I updated android the icon would first appear some time before the alarm went off.
Can't remember exactly how long before, let's say an hour.
Yea I noticed the icon stays there as long as you have alarms set, even if none are due
https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/remove-nfc-icon-root-adb-t3507739
i use this program and get rid of the nfc icon too it works great
Had a play about with the alarms today, and as long as they are switched off (They can still remain set) then the icon disappears
Only when they are turned on, even if the time and date has passed, the icon will show
The past few updates and now this "Lenovo Services" app is now constantly running. I've tried to force stop it; nope. I can't "mute" the notification.
Any of you even know what this app is? When did it get installed and for what purpose is it there?
Thanks.

I've been regularly updating (Xiaoxin Pad Pro / P11 Pro) but never encountered "Lenovo Services". I do have "Device Service" (package name com.lenovo.lsf.device) which wants to connect to AliCloud in Germany a couple of times per day. I don't allow it on my software firewall (currently NoRoot Firewall), so no notifications from there.

I just double-checked and it is indeed there. I will post a screenshot if that helps you. Furthermore, I'm unable to uninstall it or remove the notification that it is running.
I checked the app, and it has no permissions granted other than "draw over other apps" but nothing for storage or location or contacts.
I'm on a US device if that makes a difference. Someone here must have the same thing I would assume?
I do have the same service running on mine and unable to hide it from notifications.
Time to go play in the Registry...
At least there is a way to "hide it" see here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...ervices-is-Running/m-p/5083807?page=2#5447336
swipe down to see the "LenovoServices is running" notification and tap on it, it goes to the app settings page
Here you have 2 options
tap on Force Stop, it stops the notification but also the service itself (which is probably not a big problem, I've received an update, today, with this service killed). No notification in the status bar, no notification in the pull-down
Or
tap Notifications, DownloadService
there you see two main options, Alerting and Silent, it's on Alerting
switch to Silent and tap Minimise, notification gone from status bar but it's still in the pull-down, service still running

Good info. Thanks. Although still no explanation as to what it's doing or, how it got on there in the first place.
