I am trying to unlock the bootloader on my Samsung Galaxy S6 Verizon model to root the phone and install Kali Nethunter on it. The phone is currently running Android Nougat (7.0).
I've seen tutorial say that going in developper setting there should be an option called OEM unlocking, but it isn't there.

Hi all,
I recently got myself a 2nd hand Galaxy Note Edge SM-N915V. The previous owner did a factory reset and i think this made the phone sim locked to verizon again.
So yesterday i spent a whole afternoon and night trying to figure out how to unlock that and at the same time to upgrade to MM 6.0.1.
I checked the following couple posts from Verizon Note Edge Android Development here on xda;
- [OFFICIAL] Verizon Galaxy Note Edge Bootloader Unlock -- Developer Edition Conversion - By npjohnson
- Verizon note edge marshmallow bootloader unlock - By mnw1989
Following their guidelines, i was able to flash the MM bootloader, do a bootloader unlock and enable Developer Mode. Did not flash the TWRP or the custom kernel though.
At the end of the night, i got myself MM 6.0.1 developer mode on the note edge but with the sim locked on verizon.
I am kind of lost and tired to go looking again. Anybody can help please?!
Nobody helped u? Lol. Ya, this phone has no support

Kind of late...but Bootloader unlock is not a SIM unlock.
You will probably have to pay to SIM unlock the device. There are many online options and they're not usually very expensive... they just need the IMEI of the phone and a day or two to get the unlock code.

Maybe U Can Try This One.
I noticed in developer options that it has OEM unlock. Does this finally mean that I can root without bricking the device?
No. It does nothing basically. Nothing new
Rooted here
Im new to thus ohone and how do i root this phone it's on Android 8.0.0 and idk how too root i tried cf-auto root but bootloader fails idk how to unlock bootloader
The snapdragon / US models (G930V/T/U/S/P) can't unlock their bootloader
The only method is using a leaked engineering bootloader that's unstable and limits charging to 80% then using flashfire, but I don't know where to get this BL from.
Hello,
I am looking for help on how to root my SM-G950U1 phone. I can't seem to find OEM Unlock in my developer options. What should I do if I want to root my phone?
To root a phone's Android device's bootloader must not be unlocked: this is a widespread misconception.

Thanks man but unfortunately I tried this as well, I don't have the third option for unlocking, all I have in recovery is cancel and continue, holding volume up doesn't do anything
Hello ? Can someone tell me at least if it's doable ?
Someone ?
I've been in the same boat for a couple of months now. It seems that Samsung does not allow this option in the UI (or anywhere else I can find for that matter) for Qualcomm versions. Hopefully someone will come up with a proper hack soon because the bloatware on s10e is just disgustingly invasive and desktop mode is definitely lacking compared with Linux alternatives.
