It's called your persist partition. And probably should of backed it up before messing with device. They are device specific and don't think there is anything you can do now other than contact OnePlus .

IMEI Unknown

Hi guys! I've looked all around and tried the fixes that people recommended, which is basically going back to stock.
So this is what happened to my brother's phone:
Was using the phone and all a sudden the phone freezes (He was on Android L) and he rebooted it. After rebooting, the phone went into bootloop. He downloaded some program that supposedly fixes softbrick and bootloop (by flashing stock ROM) Nexus Root Toolkit v1.8.7.
The phone was fixed.. Kinda.. He couldn't get any cell signal. Turns out his baseband and IMEI read unknown. He has the box the phone came in, to we know the physical IMEI number.
Is there a fix for this? I've tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/lost-imei-please-help-t2529103 but it didn't work.
Any ideas?

Also check if wifi mac address is changing after each reboot. Corrupted persist partition can cause problems like that and also other things like crasing apps
Check out my thread about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/guide-to-fix-persist-partition-t2821576. It worths a try. If it does not help then you have to buy a new motherboard or claim your warranty if you have any.

I tried wiping cache and then it gave me a bunch or partitions that were errors. With persist being one of them. After a while, I was able to clear cache with no errors.

Then it is up to you what are you going to do with the persist partition. You will lose nothing but time by formating the persist partition. If it not fix your problem then you have to buy a new motherboard for the phone to make phone calls either way because you dont have any efs backup.

Illegal and unless you have genuine reason nobody will help or advise you.
Its not something you should do by any means....if you want to flash firmware then back up is essential.... But restoring or modification of your IMEI is not supported in fact i believe its prohibited
Sorry to disapoint

Backup efs partition
Efs backup restore problem
Efs I got a backup Nothing changes when I reload. What could be the reason for this?
Nothing will change if you just reload it ,you will bring back the same setting as you have.
The best way is to use the phone without sim card. If you dont want to be found or have problem if you found that phone.
But ,this is also illegal so there is a hard way that you will found how to do this.

It's a known issue. As of yet, it appears this is a drawback to the conversion.
I'm currently working on a solution to get fingerprint working after a conversion. I've located the error and a Magisk module should be able to fix it. I can't make any promises until that theory is fully tested, though.
Of course my Magisk install is broken and won't install from storage...

Unlocking BL and converting WW, there is a chance of losing your fingerprints, but back up the persist partition before conversion, you don’t have to worry about losing your fingerprints. Once you lose your fingerprints, you only need to restore the persist partition and your fingerprints will be normal. But it can only correspond to this phone, and restore on other phones is not possible.

Help! Wifi and sim card not working after messing around with custom roms

Hello!
Somehow I managed to break my wifi and sim card functionality on my oneplus 7 pro EU
I ve tried some custom roms like PixelExperience and crDroid and today I wanted to go back to stock Oxygen OS
I've used MSM tool and more than 5 versions of stock firmware and the "unbricking" process works fine, but I can't get the wifi and sim card to work
Can anyone help me with this? Maybe it's a deeper reflashing for modem or smth..
Quick update, I've tried to restore from a TWRP backup made with PixelExperience12, no success
I have tried reflashing with MSM tool the original rom EU, Global and China version, different versions of android - 9, 10, 11 - I give up
Since nobody seems to reply here, the only solution I've found is to make a service request on oneplus official website
If someone have the same problem and is searching for a solution, I will keep you updated

Looks like your imei and WiFi Mac adress got corrupted and erased and you can't do anything by yourself if you don't have a backup because these two things are unique to each device. You should flash stock ROM and contact one plus about your imei

Question Persist partition needed for OnePlus 9 T-Mobile

I was trying to unlock the sim-lock on my OnePlus 9 T-Mobile and somewhere read that it can be done by deleting modemst1, modemst2, and persist partitions. So, I deleted them, but it didn't work. Instead, the WI-FI also stopped working.
After trying different MSM Download Tools for weeks, somehow modemst1 and modemst2 partitions were restored, but still cannot restore the persist partition. Without persist partition sensors are not working. For example, it does not auto-rotate, brightness auto-adjustment does not work, etc.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you!

So in essence you broke your device. You probably have lost fp scanner, wifi, nfc, rotation. I really don't know what to tell you other than msm your device back to stock. And you didn't back up persist . This partition is device specific. If you do get it fixed properly I'd leave it the hell alone.
You can't just delete critical partitions
So, there's no way to fix this? I can assume that the phone is wasted?

The persist partiton can only be fix by oneplus in factory or spending money for someone that has the hardware required to fix it.
