Do you have any Magisk modules installed that could conflict with systemUI?
If not, have you installed any apps that require root access/adb commands to work properly? (eg. systemui tuner)

no nothing of that sort. i don't even have root on this and i dont have any apps that require adb commands. do you have the same issue on your end? try repeatedly tapping home/ back button on your pixel and let me know if you have the same issue.
I'm setup for no button/gestures atm with magisk & the aosp module which gives me mostly total control over gestures. If u ever want to try out root, now's the time...it's easier than ever! Just sayin'...cuz 3 button is prolly lot long for this world. Not only can u micro-manage the UI, you can squeeze approx. 20-30% more battery time outta android...usually. Switched to 3-button just to see...nothin' tho. Watched ur clip...strange indeed.

Luckily, no. I have tried to replicate the issue, doesn't happen my end.
I was having trouble with some apps previously that required adb to work. They would often make my quick settings glitch out, or sometimes have a similar effect when closing apps as what you currently experience.
Try to switch to gesture navigation, do a cold reboot, then switch back to 3 button?

What is it that you'd be looking for in a screen recording? I have no input lag when touching the home/back button, and there's no laggy animation for the app minimizing.

well i would just like you to send a screen recording of you REPEATEDLY pressing home button on different apps and third party apps. you may not have any input lag because you only press the home button once not repeatedly, so please.

I dont like the lockscreen a lot, so it irritates me how home button wakes my Note 3.
Easily disable this by navigating to system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl
Open up gpio-keys.kl with a text editor and scroll down to the bottom, you'll see there a list where it says "Home WAKE"
simply just edit the "WAKE" by erasing it and save, restart and your home button no more wakes the screen
Hope I didn't point out the obvious thing here, but I was happy to find this worked
Yeah, you need to be rooted with root rights for the file manager of your choice
- GalaxyS4man
I did this, too, but then you get the vibration motor running shortly every time you press home (at least this happened to mee). I reverted back as soon as xposed worked on the note 3 and installed wanam. There you have a simple checkbox to disable the wake on home button feature.

I've got an unlocked european N3. Maybe this makes a difference. But sure enough, the vibration on each and every home button press was really annoying.:silly:
If I root my device, can I change button's standings? It's very irritating that every time I press power button, at the same time I press volume down and phone takes screen capture!?!
Or is there something wrong with my fingers
It's not just you...
If you root and install xposed framework there are xposed modules that let you pretty much configure anything you want.
http://www.addictivetips.com/android/xposed-additions/
That module specifically handles remapping hardware buttons which is what you are trying to accomplish.
Personally I prefer just adding screenshot to the power down menu but since Alcatel skinned it none of the modules to add "Advanced Power Menu" appear to work.

It's a design flaw. The way they've positioned the power button opposite the volume buttons makes this kind of mistake inevitable. They probably should have known better in that plenty of other devices have their buttons positioned in ways that avoid the likelihood of this happening.
ROMs (for other devices) and xPosed modules could give you increased options for the behavior of the volume up and down buttons, but I don't know that you can avoid this particular problem altogether. At best, you can probably trade one problem for another. You'll probably just adapt to it after awhile and learn to hold the device in a way that prevents this from happening. Hopefully, TCL will change the button locations on the next iteration of the phone.

If I didn't need the screenshot at all I'd just disable the power/vol up combo entirely in the rom. If I did I'd install a screenshot app and pin the screenshot icon to the notification pulldown using app "Hangar".

Ok, thanks. Maybe I just root my phone and install xposed framework.
I'm just waiting for my first update. My phone firmware is still 5.0.2-010 01
I don't know why I haven't got even my first update, it should be 5.0.2-010 03

Talking about the buttons, i'm very iritated by something with this phone: long press on Vol+ (and vice versa) doesn't skip to the next song in music players ... (like on most phones I had in the past) do you think it's possible to map this behavior by using your method , or is there any chance that Alcatel implement this on futur firmwares ? I don't think it's something complicated for them, ... thanks

Why don't you make a backup and try it for yourself then report back to let us know? I found that module with a few minutes of googl'ing. I don't use it myself so how would I know?
Have you noticed that in some apps that are on full screen nav bars disapear? For example i use lgcamera and when i want to get out from app i cannot do it in different way than going to gallery to have those buttons. In some apps i dont have that "option" so i need to pull down panel and enter to settings. This is really anoying. Or maybe i have kosher model

Typically "full screen apps" have an option in settings to enable/disable that feature. In lenovo and moto camera if you tap the bottom where the back arrow should be it shows up and then you can exit.

Well, i do not see that kind of option in app. Alcatels camera have back button, but not in lgcamera and few other apps unfortunatelly. So it seems that i have very strange version of android, or maybe those are the bugs that will dissapear after upgrade, if finally it will be released for my country. I believe that CM will be faster
Hello Everyone,
I don't know if I am missing something, but since the button on the Blu Pure XL do not light up... I wanted to add the bottom navigation bar with the back home and switch button but I can't!
I have installed Google Now Launcher... Nothing.
I have Nova Premium... Nothing.
Any suggestions?
Thank You
My buttons never light up even if I use another launcher .. if I hold the phone a certain way in the light - i can see them. But I have a general idea where they are so I just press the general area. Most times I hit it .. sometimes it takes a couple of taps.

I am aware that the buttons do not light up... i am trying to add the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (on screen, software), so I would not have to worry about the hardware buttons.

I have just done this so it is confirmed working. First off you need to be rooted and have busybox installed. And if you are rooted you have twrp installed so I would recommend doing a backup. Anyway download a app called soft buttons from the play store. Open the app, open menu go down to capacitive keys menu open that and click on disable capacitive keys. Once all the permissions stuff stops popping up on the screen open menu and click on virtual keys menu then click on enable virtual keys. Wait till all the permissions stop popping up on the screen then reboot your phone. Once your rebooted you will have virtual menu buttons and your regular capacitive keys will be disabled so you don't hit them on accident.
There are also options to reverse the process a far as re enabling capacitive keys and disabling virtual keys as I have decided to do because I'd rather have the 1/4 inch or whatever of screen that it takes up.
This is for my wifes phone, we both have S21+5G devices. Her phone will launch the camera when pressing the side power button to wake the device. It does not happen every time but probably a 50/50 chance the device will show the lockscreen correctly vs launching the camera app.
Any thoughts on where to turn this off or what is causing it?

Thanks, I looked and the double click/tap for camera option was checked. I am pretty sure we are not double clicking the side key but I unchecked it anyway and will see if the behavior stops.
Yea so i have played with the side key settings and the device is still being weird opening the camera, maybe it's haxxed. I will try to get the phone factory reset and hope it clears up.
Hi, as a really fast user that needs quick actions im suffering a bit from these weird touch delay after closing apps or overlays... I tried different launchers and different apps, tried safemode and tried disabling animations nothing worked, video attached for example
Your browser is not able to display this video.
I use Xposed edge pro for system gesture and it's fast AF

I'm not seeing much of any delays in your video but maybe its because it's too small on my screen. If you want to speed things up navigating between apps go into developer options and there are 3 parameters you can play with (top 3 in screen shot)
I'm having different issues after updating. I'm on a Verizon S22 Ultra, using Nova Launcher with gestures and power savings mode enabled.
I'm having an issue where, after I use the pull down gesture (swiping downward) on the home screen (for example, if I'm just trying to switch from wifi to mobile data, or trying to turn off Bluetooth, or trying to turn on location) a lot of the time I'll have a delayed and or almost immediate ghost touch input, without touching anything.
Sometimes, even if I don't touch anything and I just swipe down to bring down the pull down ui, it'll act like I used the swipe up gesture and clear the pull down ui and return me to the home screen. Other times it'll act like I pressed the home button icon (there will be a soft white glow that shows up around the home screen icon), even though I never touched the home button icon.
Other times, on the home screen, I'll use the slide down gesture. The pull down comes down, and almost immediately it'll act like I have pressed the recents button and my recent apps pops up. It's like someone else is controlling my phone, but only on the homescreen, very annoying.
This only seems to happen when I'm on my home screen and trying to use the pulldown gesture when power savings mode is enabled. Although, it did happened a couple of times in Samsung Internet Browser Beta when power savings was enabled and prior to the recovery cache clearing. Randomly, the settings ui popped up on me while trying to type in an internet address, but I never touched the hamburger menu icon in the lower right.
This doesn't seem to happen in the Samsung Internet Browser Beta anymore after performing the recovery cache clearing. When it was happening in the browser, I'd try turning off the power saver and the ghost touches seemed to stop.
On the homescreen, once the pulldown comes down, even when pulling down for a second time to fully expand the ui (sometimes almost immediately and or even after a few seconds of not touching anything), it'll either take me right back to the home screen (like I pressed the home button icon or it'll pull up the recent apps ui and I never touched anything). It is wonky.
I've tried clearing cache through the recovery method and it's still acting up when power saving mode is enabled. The only thing that seems to have caused it to stop, is turning off power saver mode.
Anyone else experiencing this issue of ghost touches with power savings enabled along with Nova Launcher's gestures (or on any other 3rd party launcher and or even the stock launcher perhaps?) on the home screen? I haven't had time to record this yet, I'll have to get some video of it, just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this or knows of a better workaround perhaps?

I use Nova with power saving mode enabled and have no issues with ghost touches. Are you using the latest version of Nova 7? How did you migrate from your old phone (backup and restore Nova settings)?
I used to have this problem with Dr. Ketan's rom but not on samsung's.

Okay, cool. I appreciate your input. I'm using Nova 7.0.57. Yeah, I loaded Nova on the phone from my old Note 20 to the S22 Ultra. Things have been fine, no ghost touches. I noticed it happening right after I downloaded and installed the April security patch.
At first I thought it was me going too fast through everything like usual and maybe I was hitting the back button or home button or just off the screen by accident and closing out of the expanded notifications ui. But, it has continued, just not in the Samsung Internet Browser Beta anymore.
Now it's only when I'm on the home screen and I try swiping down to expand notifications, then it acts all wonky and either closes by itself and or takes me to the recents ui.
I don't use nova, but have picked up phantom touches in certain apps....this is after the April update. I would open ambivision app...in the settings menu it would exit out of settings or sub menus in the app...thought it's an app bug, but sometime when swiping down the notification bar I also get phantom swipes closing the pulldown as if I swiped up....few other appa also random swipes/gestures

Yup, I thought it was just some apps that had bugs but it's happening on the pull down notifications bar and expanding the notifications too. This all happened after the April security patch update. I didn't have any of this at all prior.
I noticed it immediately after the update, I opened the Samsung internet beta browser, started browsing and had the settings ui popping up and the recents ui pop up. I thought I was just moving through things too fast and hitting buttons. Then on the notification pull downs, they started rolling back up right after I'd pull it down.
It still happens quite a bit and the only thing I've found that seems to stop the phantom touches is turning off power saving mode. Dark mode also seems to slow it down, but it doesn't always stop it. It must have something to do with being in 60hz mode instead of 120hz as power savings reduces the refresh rate to 60hz.
I also picked it up after the update. .also with the pull down of notifications etc
I also started seeing phantom touches after the Apr update - especially with Google News app. I turned off extra dim feature and now I don't get any phantom touches!
