Yes, I've been on custom since Oct 22nd. I never stay on stock long...
Is basically an upgraded version of the Pixel 6 line (it uses gs101 trees), so there wasn't a lot to do in order to make stuff work out of the gate. Face unlock took a minute, but fingerprint was spot on and so was the cam. Statix guys worked out the face unlock stuff for the 7 Pro and there's even a newer version of the old face unlock (non Google) that some ROMs are adding
There's a lot of devs that own the Pixel 7, should be some good stuff coming in the next few weeks. Google will be releasing the November ASB today sometime (or should). Custom ROM developers are waiting to see what happens when Google does actually release the next update

As stated, depends on the apps themselves. My bank app works just fine, even with an unlocked boot loader, granted it's not a global bank, lol

Not sure on Barclays but Santander does not work unless you try 500 different methods and hope one works for a few weeks atleast until Santander patches it again

From 1.5x onwards. Encryption is enforced, the boot patcher to disable it still works.

Intervigil compiled a couple earlier builds of cm 14/14.1 and the radio worked fine on both so I'm sure it's something fairly minor broke in this first official build.

Most likely because this was built by the bot, the one for hiaeuhl didn't even build.
Jenkins is not working quite well, no builds for a couple of days and stopped again now.

Does anyone know when the hiaeuhl version of 14.1 comes out ?
In the device wiki it already shows that 14.1 is supported, but there is no new nightly build to download.

It builds alphabetically, and it was stopped at bullhead. It seems to be building now again.
It's easy to check at any time : https://jenkins.cyanogenmod.org
It says no SIM for everyone apparently, I would wait to flash. Here's the strange thing: cell standby is using extreme amounts of battery
Update: I did a dirty backflash to an unofficial version, Cell DID not work. Hmm.
The Buildbot is back to work, but just in case, I'm gonna try to build, depends on how much space I have left.
Steve just posted this. I'm hoping he's simply referring to Cyanogen Inc. It looks as though CyanogenMod is progressing along just fine.

Why no love for the Sprint version? How hard is it to port it over from the GSM source? I've never tried building a ROM before but I'm willing to learn. Read this page: https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_porting_intro and plan on getting a VM set up and working through it this weekend.

Kernel source release?

HTC might need a gentle reminder about releasing kernel sources, none of the U series have been released yet, they are required for us to support SlimRoms/LineageOS/aosp/caf style ROMs.
I've tweeted at htcdev etc...

I didnĀ“t even know HTC never released kernel source for U Ultra etc. I thought they had a good record releasing source code (well, sometimes a bit late but...)
One of my intentions when buying U11 was to create a kernel for the ocean after I took the trip to the Pixel XL and created my first kernel there.

I just noticed they added kernel source of u play.
Also a search category for android 7.1 appeared which is still empty. Previously highest was 7.0.
Fingers crossed it's for the 11.
At least TWRP is fully working without it on this device. So I need it less than you kernel/AOSP devs this time around .
I emailed htcdev and asked about all U series kernel source. They said it had been passed on. May just be coincidence though

Heh they snuck that out in the few hours of sleep I had last night! Funny they released Vodafone UK source when they don't seem to be stocking the phone! I've been playing with building using the stock kernel. The biggest problem I'm having is actually restoring my stock backup afterwards. /Data either won't restore or when I do fully wipe it and get it to restore it won't accept my unlock code/pattern/fingerprint anymore.
Setting the phone up from scratch every time you test is a pita!

Is it relevant that there still no US unlocked & sprint variations kernel source?

I expect they will come, but it looks like it's fully interchangeable currently, at least I've been running the europe unlocked boot.img on my EE UK single sim device without issue. I've just built it and it's running also.

what's the rom that's most stable right now? I'm on China rom and have 7 days to wait to unlock my bootloader.
unfortunately I don't like the rom, sync issues with my google accounts.
I no longer have the time to keep on flashing ang re-flashing my phone, am terribly busy with work. so I'm looking for a rom where I can stick on it for a few months.
my last device was a mi max 2 and I stayed on nougat, on that one rom for 14 months lol. I don't really care about updates. as long as the rom is snappy and fast and generally bug free.

Same here. Can someone please give us some inputs as to which ROM is best to stick around? (other than the MIUI, I hate it)
Stability and reliability along with good camera usage is my necessity.
Had used PE on Redmi Note 5 Pro for more than 6 months. PE for Violet seems to be slightly lagging when I used it. And I am unable to use finger print in LOS.
I just flashed Evolution ROM. It seems to be built on PE and so far it looks very neat. Will update later with more details.
UPDATE: Evolution 2.0 seems to be the better among the AOSP based ROMs out there. I never noticed any issues. GCAM, battery, signal coverage and integrity, stability etc, seems to be really impressive... Close to stock roms. In case you want AOSP ROM, i would suggest this one strongly.

Custom Roms (Lineage etc)

Ahoi,
the guys from f(x)tec said they would send out some devices to developers of custom roms including lineage to help development of the rom. Did this already happen? Do lineage devs have the phone and did they start porting? Just curious if that happens at all. I'm hoping to put lineage on mine asap.
There are few developers who are making Lineage OS and Sailfish OS for Pro1. Chen showed some alpha build on Twitter previously. Also, devs has the source code since last month.

What I can confirm is that there are 2 senior developers has been working on Lineage OS since a while ago. And they've made some great progress. (All the credit goes to them)
They are awaiting for the official release and can move the porting project into the next stage I believe.
That's as far as I know, and again, it's a great work of Lineage community.
PS: When I tried to flash SFOS initial release onto Pro1 I need to flash a custom TWRP, which is I believe also from Lineage OS devs.

As a member of the proto guys, I can assure you that the fastboot images will get released quickly. We have the shipping firmware, maybe there'll be simply a website for that. A working TWRP exists, but keep in mind system-as-root limitations.

Backups require decryption support, but since it's a stock msm8998 platform you can expect that rather quickly. Sharing is what I'll leave to the original creators, we're informed about the shipment progress.

Don't suppose you have a link that could explain this to people who have no idea what you mean?
I think this has something to do with the fact that even as root in Android if you modify stuff in /system it doesn't stick after reboot. But I'm really only guessing and haven't bothered to read up on it yet.

System-as-root means that /system is mounted as /, but it also means that recovery is a part of boot image, so flashing it as the whole boot partition won't let you boot the system. There'll be a need for TWRP installer script.

Thanks for posting this. I've been unable to find any impressions as to the stability of these ROMs. Yes, they are testing roms, but IME there are testing roms and then there are testing roms.
Are these the former (unsupported but mostly stable) or the latter (you don't want any of your real data on it, will crash at random times and missing core functionality)?

Great to hear it TDM.
Cannot give you enough kudos after lurking in the lineageOS test forum thread and seeing all the work you have been doing.
I may even give AOKP a try once you've had a chance to look at it. Lineage is great but it's been years since the Halcyon days of having _multiple_ viable on-stock Androids!

Any recommendations for a stable rom+/kernel to the 8t?

Hi guys
I'm still with the original oneplus rom but I had enough with that Android 12 ****...
I haven't even rooted my device but im down for everything to make my phone great again!
Last time i was into roms and kernels was 8 years ago with my galaxy 4, i guess nothing changes much?
I would realy appreciate any recommendations for the best stable room that works flawlessly, and a kernel if you'd recommend, too please
Any other root/recovery recommendations will be much appreciated

I have tried Project Zephyrus, evolution x, nameless, and Corvus on my 8t so far. Depends on exactly what you're looking for I guess. Project zephyrus, and nameless, are both very stable. Nameless has a little bit more customization than zephyrus. Evolution x has quite a bit of customization and the battery backup isn't terrible. Project Zephyrus gave me the best battery out of all the ROMs I've tried though. Corvus I believe is no longer maintained on our device. I'm tried that ROM, and It wasn't the greatest for this device anyway. I'm currently running evolution x and is doing me justice. It has OTA support. Nameless does as well. Project Zephyrus is working on it. If you don't need all the bells and whistles, but just enough I would go with nameless. Honestly though better to test them all out yourself, these are just my personal opinion.
I forgot about Derpfest. One of my favorites as well. Pretty sure the Dev discontinued development though the last I knew. For our device, the maintainer/developer started his own ROM, but he's's talking about still doing derp builds now instead, until he finishes his newest project. PM me if you would like his telegram channel to join

It still gets updates, and the kernel that comes with it is already great, so I don't flash any other custom ones. I just extract the recovery.img from the payload.bin in the ROM zip using payload dumper. Once you have that, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, boot to recovery, adb sideload the ROM zip then format data and boot to system. If you want root, sideload magisk.zip, or patch the boot.img with magisk apk then flash the patched boot.img

Los is lineage os. Pretty much picked up there cyanogen mod left off, just not near as much customization as cm had. Yes, updates come from Los just as nameless update come from nameless

You have to go to system settings then system update and refresh to check for updates. Usually once a month on nameless. If you watch the telegram channel, it'll let you know when one is being pushed.
Edit: forgot to add, CM was awesome! Definitely agree!

It can be the main gallery. The spoofing gives you unlimited pics and video cloud storage instead of just 10gb by spoofing your phone as a Google pixel 6. Nameless and Evo x have oos cam and gallery right now. Don't remember if zephyrus does, but I'm pretty sure it did
