I have a 256Gb S22 Ultra Exynos running Android 13, S908BXXU2BVJA - latest October 2022 update.
I recently tried my sons iphone and he had sms autofill working nicely so I thought lets have a go on my phone.
I cannot remember the last time that SMS Autofill was working on my phone.
I will go through the settings I have:
Settings/General management
/Passwords and autofill
Autofill service - Dashlane
/Dashlane
Autofill - ON
Keyboard Autofill - ON
Settings/Google/Auto-fill
/Auto-Fill with Google
Use Auto-Fill with Google ON
/SMS Verification Codes
Autofill Service ON
Default Browser ON
Every time I install a system update, I always clear cache in recovery mode
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Google Play Services
I have cleared data for Google Play Services
I have disabled and then re-enabled 'SMS' permissions in Google Play services, with a restart to see if that would help.
All to no avail.
I hate having to reset Google Play Services because it means that my Galaxy Watch 4 needs to be reset for it to be resynced back to the phone.
I have tried using Samsung Messages, Samsung Keyboard and Samsung Internet as a combination just in case it only works on Samsung apps, but the SMS autofill doesn't work.
I prefer using Google Messages, Gboard and Google Chrome because I like the way it's all set up also to see if the google sms autofill services only work on their apps, but the SMS autofill doesn't work.
I have uninstalled Dashlane (it's a password manager) to see if that was interfering, but uninstalling it, and restarting it (just in case) still the SMS autofill doesn't work.
Is anyone able to shed some light on this? What am I doing wrong?
Is it something I have to live with?
I have not seen any threads on here that have a fix that I have not tried, yes I have searched, but I wonder if there is someone on here who may have had this issue and fixed it.

I installed the stock Marshmallow last night, everything went well no issues at all. Went through the standard installing and setting up my email, apps, etc. However now, anytime I open a Google app (gmail, camera, Keep, etc) I get a warning pop-up stating that "Google Play Services requires all requested permissions to be enabled. Please click App Setting and review app permissions". All available permissions are enabled and I still get the pop-up. I tried disabling and uninstalling the service updates but most of the apps I use stop working and I have no access to my email. Re-enabling the service updated it, but I still get the pop-up when I open gmail, etc.
Has anyone else run into this issue and is it fixable?
I also have this in my Xiaomi Mi5. It's started happening this week despite having had Marshmallow for ages.
All play services and gmail permissions are already enabled, so not sure how to resolve this.
So, my Gmail has recently started popping up a Gmail force close box all the time. I can't even get into my Gmail without it quickly force closing (Samsung Note 3 running Jasmine). So far, I've tried:
Ran Root Cleaner Pro
Cleared data and cache from Gmail
Uninstalled and reinstalled gmail
Cleared data and cache from Google play services, google play store, and Gmail
I have a number of things installed but haven't messed with any of them lately:
Xposed
Amplify
Greenify
When I open Gmail and am not connected to the internet, I get a message that can't download attachment because of no internet.
Thoughts?
Hello.
For several months, on my Galaxy S8 +, I suffered slowdowns on several levels:
update badges indicating the number of unread messages is only long after having passed a message or other read / unread
check for system updates with a result return after several minutes, see tens of minutes
calls of certain applications on click of the notification (google Play, system update ...) does not display the application immediately
installing apps via Google Play is long after download, 100% OK download but install after several mintues
This only happens from my home, so may be related to geolocation.
I tried lots of actions but nothing works, among other things erase all the data and caches of several Google applications:
Google locks framework
Google play store
Goolge
Google Play services for instant apps
Google Play Services
Badge Provider
etc ...
I also tried other solutions like:
Reset the S8 +
Delete and re create my Google Account
Delete Samsung account
Disable Smart Lock function
Switch to airplane mode, correct the problem for updating badges but obviously, can not check Gogle Play updates or System because no network
Disable WiFi only, problem persists
Disable GPS only, problem persists
Disable mobile data only, problem persists
Disable the IP V6 of my Box (BBox)
Call Google and Samsung without success
The only 2 actions that have a positive result are:
To uninstall all Google updates. It worked fine initially but unfortunately recently, after the update is done, in beta mode or not, the problem appears again.
Disable Bluetooth only, and the magic, after a few minutes, it works again and it is in time. Concern, more access to connected objects
For information, I use a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier connected watch with apk Samsung Gear and Samsung Health.
I did not push the tests beyond due to lack of time. For example, uninstalling some applications.
This post is a bit long, but it is the result of several months of investigation.
While navigating, on various forums, I note that I am not an isolated case and that several people are concerned of loan or by far. I tried to do a synthesizer.
Would you already know of such a problem and if so, do you have a solution, tracks, suggestions?
In advance, thank you to all those who will take some of their time to help me solve this problem.
Since Google announced the availability of RCS Messaging in Google Messages in France, I tried to activate the feature. Until today, no luck.
I updated the app to the last version and I tried to enable RCS in Settings of the Messages App. But the app kept telling me that it still trying to configurate the connection.
But I tried something. I uninstalled Google Messages (Uninstalled the updates since the app can't be uninstalled completly on my Nokia 8), cleared all the app data and reinstalled it. When I opened the app, it asked me to activate chat functionality. I clicked Yes and Hurray ! It worked ! In the settings, it says that I'm connected.
That's how I got it to work.
I hope it helps others
Bye
Hi,
Google Messages (both the beta and the standard version) keeps crashing. On my Fold 1st gen, I never had any issue...
For now I reverted back to Samsung messages but the RCS doesn't work (even though the setting is there) so I'd rather go back to Google Messages...
Anyone else having the same issue?
I tried clearing both the Google Play Services and Google Messages storage, doesn't make a difference as after a few seconds I get the Android message that Messages keeps crashing.
For what it's worth, I was able to fix my issue by installing the Google app "Carrier Services" which was missing from my Fold2 and is apparently used by the RCS protocol of Google Messages...
Now it's all good
