Reset a Fire HD 10 7th Generation previously rooted with Kingoroot - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 General

My HD 10 was rooted with Kingoroot . I am almost certain I followed this thread (FOR FIRE HD 10 (7th GEN, 2017) ON 5.6.0.0 ONLY). Now that several years have past, my HD is in serious need of a clean up. I realize reset may not best term to describe what I need because I have already rooted. But I want to do is start over, without updating Fire OS, clean up the system and start new. I've read a little of the suez method, but I'm not sure that it would work with the Kingoroot previously installed. My end goal is simply to; clean up the system, reinstall Google play store/services, and optimize what life is left in the battery. I like the Fire OS launcher, but am ok going lineage if that will extend the life of my tablet.
Post Kingoroot information:
Fire HD 7th Generation - 64 Gb
Fire OS 5.6.1.0
Build date 2018-03-22 14:36

It will work fine if you grant su access to the shell (adb).
The best is probably just to do the bootloader unlock (via step1/step2 method).
[UNLOCK][ROOT][TWRP][UNBRICK] Fire HD 10 2017 (suez)
Read this whole guide before starting. This is for the 7th gen Fire HD10 (suez). Current version: amonet-suez-v1.1.2.zip NOTE: This process does not require you to open your device, but should something go horribly wrong, be prepared to do...

Then flash a clean fireOS rom with twrp.

[Q] Unrooted Kindle Fire (1st gen) to go to JB 4.2.1

I have an unrooted Kindle Fire (1st Gen). My ultimate goal is to run the latest Jelly Bean 4.2.1 on this.
I've read that FFF 1.4a boot loader may allow me to dual-boot which I would do with a CM ROM, but that is not my priority at the moment.
It seems like it's best to get FFF installed first. Then I can install TWRP 2.4 for recovery after which I can install whichever ROM.
I found the following thread with FFF 1.4a, but it seems like its installation assumes that a recovery system is already installed which I do not have. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632375
My question at this point is how am I able to get FFF 1.4a onto a virtually virgin/unrooted 1st Gen Kindle Fire with no existing recovery.
Are there Kindle-specific USB drivers that I will need. Will I have to install some ADB application, or is there an easier or more automated way. Also, I'm running Windows 8. If a necessary tool requires an earlier version, I'll have to deal with that as well.
I want to make this progression to JB 4.2.1 as simple as possible, but I am technical, and able to perform the steps if I have the right info in front of me, even if very technical, etc. I just couldn't seem to easily locate the right information for my circumstances.
Any advice and/or links to information on how to get started would truly be appreciated.
Mike
A little help please
It would help greatly just to have someone knowledgeable to point me in the right direction.</bump>
Anyone?
Someone has to know how to do this.

[Q] Not sure if I can root version 183 Droid Razr HD xt926

So I have a Droid Razr HD xt926, and I have been looking all over the place and I have found some good threads but I am just worried about bricking the phone. This is what the phone currently is running:
System Version: 183.46.15
Model: Droid Razr HD
Android Version: 4.4.2
Baseband Version: VANQUISH_BP_100731.020.64.21P
Kernel Version: 3.4.42-g3841824
Build Number: KDA20.62-15.1
So I know the System Version 183.46.15 is not a very good version from rooting from what I have found. But I also found a thread on DroidRazr.com that says it can be done. They say to unlock it before you root it. This is what they said to do:
Download Towel Root by Geohot
Download Unlock (HOLY SNIKES)
Then...
1. Install SuperSU from the playstore
2. Install the Towel Root exploit from the link above (click on the lambda symbol in the middle of the page). It is an APK so you must have unknown sources enabled (which I cannot find any type of developer tools or that option available on my phone).
3. Run the Towel root app and install root...wait for the reboot after 15 seconds.
4. Open SuperSU and allow it to update the su binary
5. Install the motoapocalypse apk from the unlock link above. Run it. (I am not sure about this)?
6. Optionally install TWRP or CWM custom recovery. See below links.
7. ???
And on the thread it also says:
Last UPDATE: 183.46.15 is pushing out to the HD and M as we speak. As promised, I have now closed this thread and will no longer be providing unlock/root support. The information here will work if you're still on build 183.46.10 (yes, 182.46.10 works, as well). Follow along to unlock. If you encounter an issue, read the thread. There's very little chance that someone else hasn't encountered it and had it fixed at this point. If you are on a build above 183.46.10, this thread DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU.

- This confuses me because in the beginning they make it seem like it will work. So it won;t?
WARNING: I can't stress this enough...if you care at all about root, UNLOCK now. Period. Do not debate it, just do it.
This will work on the HD and the M with 182 or 183!!

So do you guys think this will work or not? If not what do you guys suggest. I was wondering if I could downgrade the version to something else (not sure to what) and then try to unlock and root it. But I am lost because every thread or article I see says something different.
Please help me! I have been looking this up for days now!!
Did you ask these questions on Droidrzr (I can't open that forum at work)? We're all pretty friendly over there.? Anyway, you can't unlock that system version, and you can't downgrade to the previous version to knock, either. However, you should be able to root with Hydrogen Peroxide (search this forum for that).

I'll try!
No I didn't ask that there. I created a login and it wouldn't let me stay logged in, everytime I went to a different page it would say I am not logged in. So I couldn't get it to work.
So you are saying to just use Hydrogen Peroxide and that will allow me to root the system? That seems simple enough...is there a benefit to unlocking it though? Also, could you explain why there are threads that have my system version and then a fix or whatever you call it, and it says to downgrade it to a different version. Why is that?
There should be a root method posted at the end of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2994620 .
The benefit of unlocking is being able to flash custom ROMs. The downgrading refers to people that are unlocked, but you can't downgrade since you're locked. Some people want to downgrade so they can run older ROMs that aren't compatible with the newer firmware.

question
So unlocking will allow me to flash custom roms, I wouldn't be able to do this when I root it without unlocking? So what could I do...is it even worth it?
And I believe this is what you are talking about...
Download & install Notepad++
Download the 183.46.15 firmware
Download & install motorola drivers
Download & install rsdlite 6.1.6-or-so
Download Hydrogen Peroxide x926
Boot phone in AP Fastboot mode
Connect phone to computer using original OEM cable
Wait for drivers to finish installing
Unzip your firmware into a folder
Make a backup of the xml file
Edit the xml file using Notepad++ and remove the ENTIRE line that includes "getvar", then save & exit
Open RSDLite & make sure it sees the phone
Click on the 3 dots to select the xml file in your firmware folder
Click on Flash (or something like that)
Wait a long time until it finishes, maybe 5-10 minutes
Once RSD Lite gives you success, close it
Boot the phone (it will take 10 minutes or so)
Run hydrogen peroxide & follow the instructions
But, seeing how my phone is already running the 183.46.15 firmware, would I still have to download it do you think?
No, you won't be able to flash a ROM with just root. However, you'll be able to delete bloat-ware and add tweaks to make the stock ROM run nicely.
You won't need to do all those steps, since you're already on that firmware.

Your solution does not apply here because his boot loader is locked.
Root with Hydrogen Peroxide on 182.46.15?
I have an XT926 running Kitkat 182.46.15 and would like to root. Do I have to flash 183.46.15 before running Hydrogen Peroxide exploit, of will it work on this version (182.46.15)?
Thanks...
Download hydrogen Peroxide xt926 from here:

Download VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml.zip from here :
http://motofirmware.center/files/category/34-vanquish/
1. Open VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml while inside the zip and remove all lines with the word "var"
2. Put phone in fastboot mode
3. Flash zip with RSD Lite v6.1.4 or higher
4. After flashing restart device and install and run hydrogen Peroxide xt 926 . follow all onscreen
instructions , and you're rooted .
Note : hydrogen Peroxide xt 926 will install Towel Root 3. Device must be connected to the internet while towel root is running.
You still need to flash the firmware even if your phone is already running the 183.46.15 firmware or the root process will fail . Also make sure hydrogen Peroxide ends with xt926 or it too will fail
Get Root xt926 KK
You must remove 2 lines that contain the word "var" . Only one line says "get var" the other only says "var" . Everything else in your instructions Is correct .
zap user data too?
This is great - just what I was looking for! Picked up a phone off ebay, but the guy "helpfully" (!) already upgraded it for me
One thing however, as we're not changing versions, what about also removing this line too?
operation="erase" partition="userdata"
Will that save the user data, which I just spent ages setting up, before realising root installation was such a pretty severe process?
Any other lines which could be skipped too?

Need to get Kindle Fire HDX 7" with Fire OS 4.5.5 rootet. Is there a way?

I was forcing the web for a solution to root my Kindle with Fire OS 4.5.5 (HDX 7"/2013). without success...
I've searched for a way to get the firmware "downgrade" to 4.5.3 or less too, to root it then. I just want to get my Google Playstore and Google Play Account on that device. Is there a way to solve it?

HP Slate 21 - Rooted with Kingroot

As title sais:
HP Slate 21, the All-In-One tablet has been sucessfully rooted with KingRoot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461
Start KingRoot app and attempt to root. The app might tell you that its unable to perform the task, stopping at whatever percentage before 100%, but several power cycles later and a few attempts more will finally root the device.
Afterwards, I decided to remove KingRoot software with the following:
http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html
To run the replacement tool, you need to install a terminal emulator.
Yes, replace KingRoot with SuperSU.
I suspect that this tablet will not continue receiving any more official updates from HP, so I don't know if updates are broken after rooting.
I'll post evidence, as soon as the Slate 21 is not being used.
Root Check!

Being cautious with rooting, ROMs and suchlike

I've heard that you have to be careful which apps you use when you have modified your device in any of several ways. I'm a complete noob to all this and am finding it incredibly difficult to get help for the modifications that I want to make.
I have a Fire HD8 and it appears that rooting and ROMs have to be made specially for each device and that you can't just use any root method or any ROM with any device. It appears that there are no methods for the 7th gen HD8 yet. Until there is a way to get a ROM, I'm content with using the Play Store (from the APK). However, both now and after a 7th gen ROM is released, I'd like to know if there's anything I should be careful with (including if there are certain apps I should avoid).
Much Thanks,
Alex.
