I installed a miui 9 rom on my old samsung but it has gapps preinstalled. My phone has 1 gb of ram and it lags and the battery drains fast. I like the ui but i dont want gapps. Any way to delete them? Can i just delete the apks from /app and /priv-app?
Edit: The method above worked. Extract the rom zip, delete the apks and make a new zip without the apks then flash it

Hello,
From now I used a MIUI ROM on my HTC HD2 but at this time the gingerbread versions of MIUI are very slow and not smooth, so I've flashed the hyperdroid rom witch is very smooth and light.
My problem is that I would like to install the main apps from MIUI on the hyperdroid rom :
- MIUI music
- MIUI explorer
- MIUI galery
I tried to extract apk from last MIUI ROM and put them in system/app folder but the applications FCwhen I try to launch them...
The procedure I tried to do :
- Extract apk from ROM zip with winrar
- Put the apk on my dropbox
- Get apk from my dropbox on my phone
- Move apk from dropbox folder to system/app folder with es file explorer in root mode
- Applications seems to be installed but FC when I launch them
Can anybody gives a working procedure to install MIUI apps on other ROMs ?
Thanks a lot
Hi!
I used for a couple of week a custom rom, the Galnet Miui.
Now I like to try an other rom, but I'd like to keep the Galnet's dialer and browser.
How can I get that apps? Is it easy?
Can I just copy the .apk in system/app in the zipped rom from a zip file to other?
And again... the browser is easy... browser.apk... but how can I recognize the dialer?
Thank you all!
Yes copy the apk to system/app, backup First cause the apk may not work properly, that's why I say backup, experiment all you want but once something goes wrong you have a backup plan , so just get the apk you want and push to system/app and install
NookColor Cyanogenmod 7.1 "Overclocked"
Thank you.
But what's the name of the dialer's apk?
make a backup of whole system folder, then you can test one by one =) DialerTabActivity may be?
When i was using a stock rom i remember i could copy libs and apks to system and as soon as i was out of root explorer those files worked without needing to restart.
Now i am on cm9 rc2 and i noticed that copying the same files i need to reboot to make the files work.
Is that a touchwiz exclusive feature or is somewhere hiden?
The only thing i remember doing different now in cm9 was updating apex launcher, could that be the reason?
The files i used are email apk, polaris office libs and apks, etc.
I have a samsung galaxy note 2 (sgh-t889) I have de-odexed framework, and all system apks after a long learning process but i tested two of them and they worked on my phone! Pleased i would like to install the 151 apks and the framework files onto my phone but what is the easiest fastest way to do so?, i am still unfamiliar with adb but i know push pull, how can i delete system/app and replace it with my own app folder with all my de-odexed files?
I have a stock rom zip file ready to be flashed into micromax c2apls but I want to remove the preinstalled apps before flashing, is there some easy way to do it like deleting some folders or something afer extracting the zip and compressing the zip please let me know.
The Stock ROM Zip-file contains an installer script that controls the installation: simply removing APKs from the ZIP-file may lead into unpredictable results.
