Question Garbled robotic voice after 5, 6 minutes with PosteMobile - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hello,
My operator is Italian PosteMobile. If I call or get called, after 5 6 or at most 7 minutes the voice of the other person gets garbled and robotic, still somehow understandable but really annoying. They still hear me well without problems.
The operator is a Full MNVO without 5G or VoLTE support.
The same sim on other phones has no problems.
I have also an eSIM Tim that has no problems.
Is it an incompatibility of the Pixel with the operator?
Have you faced similar problems?
Thank you

Can't call anymore since the motherboard swap

Hallo everyone,
What's up: my Nexus 5 can't make any type of calls.
The story behind: in march the memory chip of my Nexus 5 died, so I let it repair from the official LG support (it was still under guarantee). They changed the whole Motherboard and send me it back. At the same time, I received the new SIM card from my mobile network operator (o2 Germany) because I moved from prepaid to contract, but I still keeped my number.
Since the first day with the repaired Nexus and the new SIM, the LTE worked without problem and I could surf, but I couldn't make a single call. I talkd with the o2 Germany support, and they toldt me that It could have been a problem related to the number porting. After a few weeks the porting was officially completed, but I couldn't still make any call. Then after many weeks and many support calls, I had a so simple Idea...just let's test my o2 SIM on my old Smartphone (an HTC Desire)...and finally I could make a call! So I'm sure that the problem doen't lies on the operator or the SIM.
What's happen exactly with the Nexus 5 and the o2 SIM (here the Video): the LTE Network is full available, I call a number and appears "Dialing" (sometimes the screen turns black without any reason until I press the power button, but not this time), after seconds of absolute no sounds it shows the error "Cellular network not available". Of course I tried to call different numbers, but the problem persist and it still remains, even if I use another SIM from another operator.
I'm really concerned that maybe the problem lies on the Nexus 5 hardware, maybe the antenna, after a bad repair...but that's just what I suppose.
I'm looking forward for your opinions and support, thanks a lot!
Have you taken any steps to troubleshoot?
Seems the issue is the N5, as the SIM is working, but it is unclear where the problem lies. Have you checked the APNs, do they match the ones on HTC device? Maybe try reflashing factory image? Factory reset?
You said LTE is working, so it is not antenna, I think it is a software issue. Start by checking APN.
Thanks for your answer, I will consider the antenna as functional
I have been checking the APN Settings with the same o2 SIM on the two different devices (Nexus 5 and HTC Desire), they are identical, but the Nexus 5 got some extra settings.
As usual, with the Nexus 5 I can't call, but if I move the SIM on the HTC Desire it does. Just using the same dafault APN configuration. Those are the suggested configuration on the official o2 Website, but I would just stick with the default ones that already works (on Desire).
Any suggestion?
I would do a factory reset just a last choice, because I got tons of apps and data that needs time to be reinstalled.
Another info: the LTE Network on the Nexus 5 sometimes disappears, and then appears again.
Bump, any Idea about this problem and how I could fix it?
Hallo, I'm asking again for your support
those last weeks I couldn't get rid of the problem with the calls, and I'm still clueless about how I can fix it. At the end of the month the 2 years guarantee expires, so I need to hurry up.
Summary: SMS sometimes comes later als expected, sometimes LTE Data doen't work, most of the times I can't make calls.
What I have already done:
- already moved my main SIM (o2 Network) from my Nexus 5 on an old device, and there I have no problems at all, and I can make all the calls that I want.
- already checked the APNs, they are all on defaults settings and are ok.
- already tryed to use a fully functional SIM from another network operator (TIM Italy) on my Nexus 5, even if the Network is fully available I can't make any single call.
At this point, I'm pretty sure, that the o2 SIM and the o2 Network itself works fine.
Today I have done a factory reset after a full backup on my Nexus 5. With all default an no extra app there's no improvement at all, call function works only a few times, most of the times I got the Network but the call function doesn't work properly... here just a frash Video about it:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0yEcZCOozgkdmdjZWs0bkdIUnc/view?usp=sharing
After this try the LTE Network has disappeard (here a Foto) coming back only later as EDGE Network.
Could be maybe that after the Nexus 5 repair in march, the Device was assembled incorrectly and the Antenna have an unsteady contact?
Isn't the IMEI stored on the motherboard? If so, its possible you got a motherboard with a blacklisted IMEI.

I don't think that the officially LG Support (that replaced my Nexus 5 Motherboard im march) would use Motherboards with blacklisted IMEIs. Even if my motherboard had a blacklisted IMEI, then I shouln't be able to make any single call, but that's not what happens, because I can still and receive calls sometimes.
Well then I think you already know the answer. The warranty repair wasn't successful. You've eliminated everything else except the phone, and it used to work before, correct?

Yes, sadly seems that the problem lies on the unseccessful repair. Could you reformulate your last sentence/question? I didn't understand what you you mean
Is your phone switching to 3G while calling ? Because afaik, 4G can't be used to call someone.
So I suggest you to force your phone to stay in 3G and try making a call.
When I try to make a call with the LTE (4G, with full coverage showed), the call doesn't succeed (look at the last Video that I posted) and just after this the Network disappears and shows "Mobile Network Not Available" (but this doensn't happen always), then a few second later the LTE is available again.
When I move from LTE to 3G there's no Network available, and the call just doens't work. Same with 2G.
Update: I received back from the LG repairing my Nexus 5. In order to fix the problem with the calls, the entire motherboard was swapped. I didn't received more detailed informations about this fix, but right now it works again greatly.

T-Mobile US Issues

I purchased my XZP about a week ago, and since it arrived, I've had issues receiving calls. I can make calls (it takes about 10-15 seconds to start ringing) but when someone tries to call me, it usually rings once for the caller, I get no rings on my end and then the calls go to voicemail. I am coming from the unlocked LG V20. I simply removed the SIM from that phone and placed it in the XZP. I have the dual-SIM version.
I discovered that I can receive calls when "GSM only" is selected under preferred network type, but that kills LTE. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the G8141 bought from UK and using in the US (Ultra mobile which is an MVNO running on tmobile). I've never had issues similar to what you said. Try a factory reset. Also what ROM version are you in?

I discovered that the issue is caused by poor service in my area. I have LTE but T-Mobile has used their LTE network to disguise that every other service in this area is garbage. If I drive a few miles away, my service works normally and I can use 3G data while talking on the phone. But at home, I stay on LTE and all my calls are directed to voicemail. I solved it by staying on LTE and using my Google Voice phone number full time and using the Hangouts Dialer app to make and receive calls. Its like I have VoLTE now. hah
Since the phone doesn't support (or vice versa) T-Mobile's VOLTE, the phone will only do calls on other GSM networks which T-Mobile is apparently phasing out. So data is great and the signal looks good, but then no calls in these areas. It's very frustrating. As mentioned above, calls over data from other apps do work. Hangouts, Digits, etc.

Standalone SA 5G SIM for T-Mobile MVNO

I use Ultra Mobile, a T-Mobile MVNO/reseller, and 5G is working for the most part, but I am experiencing the same dropped calls, missed calls and SMS/MMS messages sometimes don't come in or out.
There is this from T-Mobile regarding SA 5G:
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/latest-sim-for-great-network-experience
My question is if they have provided MVNO resellers with these SIM cards as well... If anyone has any knowledge of this, an update would be appreciated.
(And I have received the August ROM update enabling SA 5G.)
Thanks in advance!

Even with the new r15 sim card you will still face the same issues. I'm on T-Mobile and have the r15 sim cards and when in SA mode, I can't receive calls and outing calls only last 21 seconds before hanging up. Also, you can get SA while you have an older sim card as well as I was getting SA even with the older TM sim cards. Personally I force my main device op8 pro to use NSA 5G only instead of SA and my test device tmo op8 to SA 5G for testing. I'm sure at some point the mvno's will get updated sim cards, just don't expect it to fix all the issues. I believe the issues will be another update from OnePlus, unless it's network side that's the issue.
According to tmobile it should be fixed by 9/26.
ImDonly1, What is your source for this being fixed by 9/26? I have a T-Mobile OnePlus 8 with the "new" R15 sim and I'm still getting dropped calls and no service errors

Question Calls End Immediately or Can't be Received - And Speakerphone Won't Work

Very frustrated with Unlocked (USA) S22 Ultra. Somewhat frequently but intermittently my phone is unable to make a call. When I try to make the call it just ends immediately - and of note this is in full cellular service (4g or 5G) and also even if WiFi is on and the call is being attempted on WiFi calling. So it's not just a cellular network problem. The problem is reminiscent of back in the day when I would flash a custom ROM and the call features or CSC was messed up.
I believe a similar issue is that often I will get a text from my daughter (who the heck knows how many business calls I missed) - she says that she has tried to call all day and the call just ends immediately and won't ring through to me.
Looks like there are many complaints out there on the internet -- I am looking for a fix hopefully form someone int his community. I wonder if flashing ATT firmware on my unlocked phone would help??
Another problem is that sometimes (definitely intermittently) I am unable to activate the Speakerphone. Pushing the button highlights the Speakerphone indicator BUT the sound is still through the headset - not the speakerphone. Thoughts?
are you on June update? The latest june update seems to have fixed some of the GSM issue so maybe that would resolve your problem.

Never ever had this problem (ATT - locked, 12/512 SD). if nothing else you may want to try to take to ATT for re-provisioning (I assume ATT may be who you are trying to use)

West Virginia explains a lot! I am in South Carolina now but grew up in Pittsburgh so I drive thru West Virginia alot on 79 and not surprised about cell reception.
I've had this happen a few times with an Unlocked version on ATT. I'll try to make a call and it will just immediately end. A reboot fixes it, but if someone was trying to call me I would have no idea.
Have you tried clearing the dialers cache and data?
What about a third party app like googles dialer?
I had the same issue on my s21 ultra and went thru various fixed ( reprovision, changed sim, manufacture reset ..etc). I bought unlocked S22 ultra direct from Samsung and same issue. I have my work # on using physical sim and personal # esim. "when I try to make the call it just ends immediately - and of note this is in full cellular service (4g or 5G).." same issue around 10 times in the last 6 months. It happened on both physical sim and esim. The person who called either number went to voicemail and texting was fine. When I tried to call used either number and it will end right away. when it happened I would reboot and wipe cache partition. I haven't received June update yet and hopefully, that fixes it. I am also unable to send MMS on secondary # but SMS is fine.

General No Sin Card - no connection possible

Hello..
I have my second Google Pixel 7 Pro Phone here, where the basic function (cellular) not possible.
No SIM Card - service not available is displayed as an error message.
A reset, a reset of the connections, a new SIM card brought no improvement, another pixel (Rep. by Google has the same error since this morning).
The pixel has all the latest patches, and not beta version.
When I restart the Pixel the error is gone (and all is ok) for about 6 hours or sometimes more.
i am also not the only one with this error, and the Google Support is at this Time Clueless...

If it's happening with multiple Pixel phones and multiple sim cards it has to be some form of incompatibility between your network and the phone.
Have you tried the card with another phone and the phone with another card?
Yep the Sim Card works perfect in my Xiaomi MI Note 10 pro, i have never befor any error like that.
- This is the basic function of a Phone that should always work

And I bet you if you put another provider's sim in the phone, it would work fine. You're blaming the phone exclusively and I'd say its likely a combination of the two - your provider and the phone.
Is it a sim free, unbranded Pixel 7 Pro or network branded? I also wouldn't rule out changes made to the phone by the network contributing if it's branded.
The Pixel 7 Pro is (unlocked) provider Free also Sim Free.
So the same as mine and thousands of others who don't have this issue. Put another sim card in it from another provider, I can pretty much guarantee it won't happen.
Looking at what you have said, I'd say there is an incompatibility between your network and the P7P. But it's not something you can blame the phone for exclusively.

Here's what happened with mine. Received last week of November.
Coming from a PIxel 6 Pro, straight talk (tracfone) sim on Verizon network.
Called straight talk, THEY said I needed to purchase a new sim card. Gave
them my IMEI and they said it was compatible, but you still had to buy a new
sim. On another xda thread, someone said they updated to the beta version
that fixed that issue. I upgraded to the beta and after the reboot my sim
card worked.
So now its offical..its a top reportert issue
Does your Mobile Network use Esim? If so have you asked about moving to it to see if it fixes your issue?
Never had this issue, and neither have hundreds of thousands of other Pixel 7 Pro owners. I'd still suggest it's related to a combination of the phone and network provider and not exclusive to the handset. Otherwise I'd have it too on my Pixel 7 Pro with Vodafone UK.
I had a similar problem and this is how I solved. My phone could not connect with 4g/5g. So I put the network mode on 2g/3g and then I could log in. After that I inserted manually the Internet apn. Hope this helps somehow.
I've had a working sin card for as long as I can remember
You told us: Here's how many polled Pixel 7 owners have reception issues
We asked Pixel 7 owners whether they've had reception and connectivity issues. It turns out that Google has improved matters after all.
