Question Can someone make a gapps custom ROM with pixel 7 pro? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

I do have a unlocked bootloader. So are custom roms possible yet? I know for sure, root is.

Lmfao

Are they possible? Yes. You'll likely have to give it longer, though, until they start to appear. Possibly a couple of months.

Rule #1 is never ask for an ETA!!!

Dude do you have the necessary IQ, to be able to speak intelligently instead of being a XDA's groupie?
When you go to XDA it's not to stay on stock huh lol but to find out what mods/roms there are for your device, now if there's nothing on xda, it's time to ask yourself the right questions, in any case that does mean that there is no development for this device. XDA is not what it used to be, deal with it.
Most devs stay away from XDA, and honestly when I see the kind of dumb users there is on this forum, I think I should stay away too lmao

Listen, kid, there's nothing wrong with stock, rooted, couple magisk mods for customization, maybe a custom kernel or something. NO need to be measuring weiners by posting how many projects aren't on the website you're commenting on. Either be a productive member by helping people and not flaming, or go by the wayside. Kid.

haha the way you express yourself clearly makes me think that I must be much older than you tbh.
You're immature but don't worry I don't lose hope maybe someday you'll be mature who knows?
The kid.

And if you both calm down a bit and chill i want to say that @flyl0 is right. The most devs moved to telegram and they don't care about XDA anymore. If people really want to know about the development of any device they need to check telegram.

He has a point about XDA not being what it used to be. Back in the Android 4-5 days, especially KitKat you could find a custom recovery, root, rom, kernels, with various options for a $100 Boost phone nobody had. It was hard finding a phone that didn't have a ton of custom options like I mentioned. That's what got me into Rooting, etc

XDA doesn't have to be what it used to, but it still doesn't deserve little piss ants putting words in the mouth of a moderator that didn't say what he said.
I don't see any contribution from fly at all, and for him to come bad-mouthing is uncalled for.

That is because it has nothing to do with sense at all. But yeah I think the mods did not wanted his work to be posted on XDA but they never gave answer why.
People don't just get banned from XDA-developers for no reason! Maybe he didnt comply with the GPL or ripped off peoples roms and claimed them to be his own work, like theming them then releasing as "his own work".The way you are saying it is like XDA has done something EVIL and WRONG which i doubt very much! I may be nit-picking here but title says "fully functional" And the OP from the other forum says otherwise

He's saying that you should move to an iPhone because iPhone's are simplistic. No hassle of installing things, fixing things, typically Apple controls every aspect of your phone so no worries about download mode or any sort of things.
Here nor there... it doesn't matter what phone you move on to. I don't care.

Thanks lumin, and actually I encountered a minor trouble. So I panicked a little but everything was fine in the end, I don't know how but the SAMSUNG USB composite device wasn't found. So I flipped through the thread and what do you know, I researched a bit and found out, that the USB ID can also determine the device.

The number on the USB ID which is "04E8 - 6601" can be your device. My phone was named "Gadget" and I was scared that my phone wasn't found but I guess it did find it.
You should put that as a tip/hint on the guide just in-case other people encounter the problem.

Not sure what your trying to get at here or if that was even directed at me. Since I've been around since the beginning of this as well I feel I have a right to respond. I just reread the entire thread and I don't find anything insulting. Some people should move on to simpler platforms like the iPhone. If you can't figure out how to do something after a Dev and two RC's tell you where to go and what to do maybe you're out of your league. As far as devs leaving it's mostly because they upgrade devices. The second biggest reason that I've seen is because of posts like this one. People get fed up with noobs not searching then asking repetitive questions. Look at any other phones forum and you will see the same thing. So your 9 of 10 idea is shoddy at best. Lastly if you don't like the way things are take your own advice and help. You came to this thread just to point out people are "Dicks" and they are the reason devs leave. That is not helpful at all. It's just more BS to wade through. I hope this gives you a different perspective on things but you'll probably just think I'm some **** forcing devs to leave. lol
Its noobs like this one that make it challenging to be nice.

I hope that touching on this subject doesn't bring sanctions my way, considering I'm a noob to these forums, but I'll ask anyway. With the original thread being locked due to general dickishness--which frankly I don't get, even as a new member I don't have major issues flashing, and it took me minutes to find the first password. I guess people are just lazy--is the entire project on hiatus or will we just see a new thread soon? I love the work you do and appreciate all your effort, so I'd hate to see it ruined just because a few people are acting silly.

AAs a noob myself, i understand the whole pw deal. But what i dont understand is why it is considered someone elses responsibility if someone doesnt follow the instructions and bricks the phone.
We have all made it to this point by rooting and installing custom roms. I have never seen it taken to this level in any of the development threads. All this for flashing gapps, seems a little over the top imo.
All i have to add is thank you for all the work, and if someone bricks their phone by not following directions, so be it. You did your job

I put it on my ext-sd, uninstalled contacts.apk from system/apps, and installed the contacts from the last working release I used. Then, I fixed permissions in CWM, rebooted, and boom. Success.

ISIS

As has been discussed in other forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2047927), ISIS has gone live with the OTA JB for Verizon. I have discussed my experiences in the above thread, but I am starting this thread in the development section, because what I want to know is more relevant to this forum.
Somewhere along the way installing ISIS, I came across a message saying ISIS will not work on rooted devices. I have heard that elsewhere as well. My question is, how true is that? will it no longer work as soon as I root? even if I just root and stay stock and not change ROMs? Is there any way around that? Perhaps can you deny root access in SuperUser/SuperSU to ISIS?
I know many people are just going to say get Google Wallet instead, but believe it or not, I like ISIS better and what to keep it!
Has anyone tried getting to work on rooted or any custom ROMs?
Until now I haven't had a desperate need to root, but I'm planning on going abroad soon and I'm going to need APN access so I can continue to use my phone with a local SIM.

So, this isn't a huge gripe per se about not being able to post in the development section for lack of posts, but I guess more of a "I don't understand why". (And I know basically nobody gives a rats ass about what I think - lol)
I've been rooting/flashing/customizing my phone since my first DroidX about 3 years ago (maybe more!). I have flashed many, many different ROMS, bricked my device more times than I care to count, and have always, always found a way to get it back to working order. How have I done that you ask? Mainly by searching the threads for the same issue I am experiencing at that moment. The reason I don't post a lot is because I don't have to. The answers are 99.9% of the time right under my nose. The reason I would like to post? I feel I can give my input of bugs/issues etc that I find based off the ROM/Theme/Mod I installed.
I never do any customization's to a ROM until I let it run for a few days, and even then try to make sure I've run all apps, configured all settings, and tracked any bugs. In doing so, once I do flash say, a theme or a mod, I know what worked, and what didn't and can easier track down where my underlying issue is.
I'm in no WAY a developer, but for someone who has used basically every ROM out there on multiple devices feel I know when there is a bug, and no when it's my own stupidity.
I know I can just go out there and fire off ten posts and be able to post in there but to me, that's cheating. Who wants to read my drivel anyway?
Anyway, thanks for reading if you did... and if you didn't...
Three more to go.

Sorry - Subject should have read "Without enough posts"... guess this is why I'm locked down -

Also add not being able to post more than one post in five mins.

The 10 post requirement is to protect our developers from spammers, spambots and users just joining without knowing the rules. 10 posts is too small in most users opinion as it is not enough to get the feel as to what should be posted in a development thread or section.
Hope this helps
Thanks

That also clears up after 30 or 50 posts...I forget which...again...more spam protection.
I'm working on my 10 posts right now I understand the reason for wanting to protect the developers. I myself am a developer, not of Android ROMs, and appreciate any filtering that can be done to shield the developers from uneducated questions and complaints. I'm just trying to get to 10 quickly so I can post in the development thread for the offical cm10.1 nightly. invisiblek posted an unoffical rom to test a fix for the random reboots and I believe it has fixed the issue for me. Just got to get to 10 so I can let him know :fingers-crossed:
I've been using this forum for ever, and I feel the 10 post count rule is ignorant. All it does is promote new people to post stupid crap everywhere to get their 10 posts so they can post something ignorant elsewhere. It doesn't help anything.
The people who post the most, are often the ones who know the least, and to reward that behavior is absolute stupidity.
You are not going to stop spam, or people from posting stupid stuff. The more you try, the harder they work to get around it.
You really want to help stop the stupidity start moving the community in the opposite direction. For the last 2 years the entire android community has been turning into everything they hate in the iOS community. Real development has basically died, and every person with a computer is now an android developer. I can go to any phone and find a ton of the same crap over and over and over. When their is a bug or a problem people just ignore it because no one knows how to fix it, and they typically never get fixed.
Everyone has become elitist and self righteous and it really shows. Damn shame really.

The only way you'll go back is by only allowing actual developers to post. However xda isn't exactly running a charity here. The more users, the better for them
