Xiaomi 12t Pro VS Black Shark 4 Pro, both on order, but what to keep??? - General Questions and Answers

Hi all I have the new xiaomi 12t pro, 8+256 and the black shark 4 pro 12+256 on order, but can only keep one, but what one??
Black shark...
I like the pop out triggers idea and the finger print sensor on the power button. it was £480, but no IP raitng
12t pro...
better gpu and faster phone and has a IP rating. £600
What would you go for and why, the 12t pro is more expensive, but just come out, so will have more updates than the black shark.
both same size screen, both 120w charge
Please help all, as really not sure what to go for??
many thanks

Both are good phones. What is your intent? Intensive gaming? If so, go black shark. Gaming phones have better cooling compared to their flagships counterparts. If gaming is not your focus here, go with the 12t pro. It had better camera and will get more updates, official and unofficial.

A bit of both tbh, is the 12t pro worth the extra £120? Will the black shark still be a fast phone? My current phone is a huawei p30 pro

Xiaomi 12T Pro is better when looking specs.
Both of these phones is not IP rated.

i received the 12t pro today, just need to decide on what one to keep now, mostly used for day to day use, with the odd game of cod. i like the idea of the pop triggers, but with the 12T pro, it is better spec, but less ram 8gb in 12t pro, 12 in bs4p., also got the free tab with the 12t pro, but it is £120 more.
what to do??????

Which Chinese flagship would you recommend?

Hi
I have been Samsung user for years and now decided to give a try to Chinese top smartphone. I'm looking for device with great battery life, reasonable camera, fingerprint scanner, screen around 5,5" and size not bigger than 150mm. I have bought recently huawei mate 7 which is amazing phone but I had difficulties to handle it in my pockets (size :crying and I'll have to sell it.
I have considered Meizu mx4 pro ( great screen, but not very good camera) or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which seems to have all what I want.
If you know other great smartphones please let me know. If you are a user of meizu mx4 pro or redmi note 2 let me know what you think about them.
Thank you
p. s yeah I know that phones which I specified might not be treated as flagship but price factor is also important and I don't want to spend more than 200-300 $

P40 pro and watch gt2 and 27w wireless vs P40 pro plus alone

Which option is better, the p40 pro (256) and the 27 w wireless charger and the watch gt2 or the p40 pro plus alone.
Better in terms of? Value? If value for money then the P40 Pro and the bundle, you'd get more use out of it than an extra bit of zoom and 40w wireless charging IMO.
I also think the Silver Frost looks better than the P40 Pro Plus's ceramic back.
You can get p40 pro as low as low 650-750eur in Germany. P40 pro plus I assume is 1300? Value wise p40 pro is better
It depends on what your market is, ive got the p40 pro plu the gt2e and I love it! if you're going to buy from abroad maybe go for the plus but the Pro offer is class and for me I cant see how I can benefit more, but I would only truly know if I had the plus, its a tough decision but either way its an awesome result

p40 pro & pro plus cases

Hi,
i recently bought a p40 pro plus and i wanted to know if i could use p40 pro cases on my pro plus device?
From my understanding, the phones are exactly the same on the exterior? Or am i wrong?
Cheers
Pretty sure the camera bump is bigger on the P40 Pro+, so it probably wouldn't fit right.
Yes, your correct, 40 pro plus is bigger. Pro sort of fits but not well. Better getting right one for better protection

at the moment, huawei store is selling the PU cases for £10
Pro Plus is larger and will not fit in the opening in a Pro case, it would have to be modified to work.
really need to stick to only PRO PLUS cases
It's not only larger but bump is 3mm on the left. I tried several cases and protection foils for the rear, they don't fit at all.

Question Huawei P50 PRO where to buy?

Hey,
Do You know when and in what online shops will be available to buy? I'm waiting for European premiere, but if it will be online - i can buy from China.
Greetings
From what I read it will be available starting August 12th. Most likely only for China, and the global variant should be released some time later.
I'll wait a couple weeks for user reviews, mainly to find out whether it's possible to install Google services on HarmonyOS. Apparently it's possible on CHINESE variants of the Mate 40, with the Lzplay app (or whatever it's called). For global variants, gotta use GSpace which is not ideal.
EDIT: pre-order available on aliexpress HERE. Price is a bit high though.
Hello. Any news about Chinese variant and harmonyos running or not Google? I'm crazy about this phone.
Tradingshenzhen is selling som devices right now

Are you saying that with the mate if you wanted google you were better off with the Chinese version? i see the Chinese version is available but was afraid to buy it for compatibility in the usa
Hi.
I live in Sanya, China.
I recently bought 2 Huawei P50 Pros here to send to my friends in Russia and while testing them, I got quite disappointed. I even made a short review on my youtube channel (Mark Victorson).
They're overheating crazily, and in general, while cameras are the only reason one might want a Huawei phone, the video performance is seriously underwhelming.
And I don't recommend getting the China version with Kirin.
Wait for the global release. Or PM me if you can't live without the phone, I'll give you contacts of ppl who can buy and send the phone from China

it looks like the wait in our country will be a long one, the right decision if you want to submit it online.

1. Harmony os - hopefully the global version will have full fledged android 11 not the piece of android 10 they call a new os
2. Camera is underwhelming. Omnivision sensors are inferior to Sony. The quality and color science difference between the wide, main and tele lens are not in sync - shooting with all three makes you feel like you shoot on three different devices, so great the difference is. Video is still 30mbps in 4k...srsly? SONY gives 85!
3. Heat dissipation on Kirin is terrible, it drops from 300gips to 100gips in 9 minutes of CPU throttling test.
Hopefully the global version with Snapdragon will result in a better experience.

Hi, what is the battery life like ? How does it compare with the honor magic 3 pro plus? Are the cameras better on the p50 pro or on honor magic 3 pro plus? Which of the 2 devices would you recommend for overall everyday use (camera, speed, battery life, Heating). You mentioned the p50 pro gets hot, is that the same with the honor magic 3 pro plus?
Mate40 pro is not a better choice ??

Overall I'd recommend honor. It shoots better videos, its screen is better, it never heats up, its face id works in darkness. The only downside - it's a step behind p50pro in photography. Battery life is not bad on the both, but I can't say anything particular because i only had the devices for a week, and then sent them to Russia.

I appreciate that response thanks bro !
Lol wow. I have the phone, it's typical huawei goodness.
Hot? Not at all, it's same as any other normal phone concerning heat, camera is excellent! As expected, slightly better than by mate x2 camera which was also great. P50 pro ain't seen as the best phone camera right now for nothing.
Battery life again is typically great! It's a small battery, 4360 I believe, but it's roughly 8+ hours on screen time for a complete full charge.
I'm amazed at these statements

How much did you pay for it?
I've been told that photos are excellent but video recording is underwhelming, can you confirm?
Is there a 90hz option or only 60hz/120hz?
How many updates have you received so far ?
Does that 8 hours sot involve gaming or just normal usage?
How much battery do you lose overnight/idle?
8 hours is decent SOT, but I'm used to my 14 hours on the Rog 5 unfortunately there's no reviews on the p50 pro so I'm still undecided.

Paid about £870 from Alibaba
Pics are the best, full stop! Videos are good, iPhone still king
No it's only 60hz or 120hz dynamic. No 90hz
I think its been about 2 updates since I bought
It's 8 hours very conservative. Uses about 10% per hour
Losses about 3% overnight

Thank you again for the info !
I've just had a look online & it's looking likely that Huawei will launch the Mate 50 pro on October 21st
I'll wait for that if they don't end up releasing the mate 50 pro I'll just buy the p50 pro, prices will be lower too. I was hoping for the p50 pro plus version but doubt that will ever come out

Huawei P40 Pro notification light

Hello, firstly i want to say that i am very satisfied with the P40 Pro. It's a good stable flagship phone and it's still good as when i bought it. It's a 3 year old phone and by todays standards when people switch phones every year,it's a pretty good thing. The P60 pro is out now and to be honest it's not much worth upgrading. I wanted to ask if someone knows of a notification edge light app that works with the P40 Pro but simultaneously to work with my stock Huawei Always On Display.
