Question [SOLVED] Revanced working? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Did anyone try installing revanced manager on the P7P? Get it working?
I installed the manager and it doesn't seem to see when I patch the youtube apk. It goes through the process of patching the youtube apk. I installed using non-root methods and when I try to open the newly installed apk that revanced patches, it just sits on a black screen.
When I tried installing with the root method, the apk is not visible in the app drawer.
EDIT: Confirmed working, many different ways... Revanced builder using Windows, revanced builder using android, rooted and non-rooted. Rooted using revanced manager. Rooted using magisk module.

I didn't use the manager, I used the builder and that was fine.

Do you have a link to the builder and method you used?
Did you use the android phone method or windows injection method of builder?

I think I found my problem. When using the revanced manager, they don't recommend using dpi related apks or split apks but installing a no dpi apk instead. If you do, they say it causes issues of not loading.

Did it in Windows.
When selecting the YouTube version to use, I scrolled until the first recommended one.

CONFIRMED working with vanced manager, root method with youtube 17.36.37 no dpi version downloaded from 3rd party site.
When using microg non-root method, the apk patched goes to a black screen.

Agreed, they have been working on the builder much longer than the manager.
And if memory serves me, the windows version doesn't require micro g to install it on the phone. Is that correct or do you need it?

I built it with micro G because it said to but I don't know if it was necessary or not.

I use the nice and easy magisk module:

Didn't realize there was one! Thanks!

Works for me using revanced manager non root

I saw this and was trying to use the builder because it looks like one of the options is to detach the app from the market so it's not constantly updating and needing redone. I've tried several times and keep getting this below. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I'm having problems with this using revanced manager. patches ok and installs ok (root), works fine for a bit, then starts to crash on start. any clues?
magisk module seems to work but includes the "theme" patch which gives it a black theme rather than dark.
edit: also tried non root method with micro g but chromecast doesn't work. I'm stuck.

Download the non dpi version of the app. Don't get the multi APK version.

just for anyone else following this later, I sorted this out. I actually have youtube premiere because it's the only way to have no adverts on the chromecast. so I think some of the no advert patches might have been conflicting. so I just applied the bare minimum patches I wanted, swipe gestures sponsor block and remember resolution, after that it was fine.

I fixed the problem in root version
1/ install ur patch (as root, so u don't need to allow microg )
2/ install as root (close the app without oppening youtube)
3/ go to magisk and configure deny list
4/ do like that in pic and restart ur device
5/ run youtube without any problem

[KFHD10] Any Demand for an AIO Root/Mod Tool?

Hello all! Apologies ahead of time if this post is in the wrong area or breaks any rules!
I currently have a short batch script that can offline root/unroot (including SuperSU install), install GAPPS, toggle Lockscreen ads, and perform many other tweaks in a few short motions. I've tested it on several HD 10 tablets that I own and it has made life easy. After doing a bit of searching I noticed that most of the root guides use Kingoroot (which does some shady operations) or are instructions that I've automated to increase speed and decrease typos / errors.
Would anyone be interested in a polished version of my KFHD10 Multitool? I will gladly release my tools if there is demand for them! I just wanted to ask before I spent the time making a nice interface and adding options to my existing script.

I've been working on a similar zip. A tool would probably be easier. Has activating location services been a problem? I've found it to be less of an issue if flashing a zip because Amazon removed com.google.android.gms from the framework. The zip I made replaces the framework with my modded one, that replaces com.google.android.gms.
I haven't played with Location Services just yet. The script I have can root, unroot, install Play Store/Services, swap the launcher, and toggle lockscreen ads. I plan on adding more tweaks as I go.
I've spent the last hour or so rooting and unrooting just to test the success rate, and it's doing very well!

I have a fix or two to do in my framework mod. It's version specific, but I can make one for a few versions. If it's a root tool, it would be useful to add and be installed after the play store etc. It just requires location services be turned on before either the play store apps or framework is installed.

I'd gladly let everyone test it out but I'm trying to perfect the auto-root script. I can easily root - that isn't the issue. The issue is the way that the Kindle doesn't prompt for SU requests. You can work around this by changing the default setting in SuperSU to "Grant" but I'm attempting to automate this process. I've gotten it automated by sending touch commands to the device to change the prompt setting but I'd much rather just change the setting manually.
I'm not 100% sure if this will work but I'm trying to:
1. Root using the exploit script (here, thanks retyre)
This works fine. 80% of the time, it quickly roots the device and I can get the SU prompt just fine. I'm able to run about one or two SU commands before anything stops working. Root + SuperSU + Manually setting the prompt config to "Grant" works 100% - obtaining root isn't the issue.
2. Upload a pre-modified SuperSU preferences file
Instead of editing the settings - we might be able to just upload the preferences XML file to the SuperSU data folder before installing SuperSU itself. That way we already have the "Prompt" setting switched to "Grant". We then change the permissions so that SuperSU doesn't modify this file when it is installed.
3. Revert permissions so that edits can be made to the settings in the SuperSU app
I would of course need to change the permissions of the SuperSU preferences XML back to the normal settings so that SuperSU can make changes to it again. This way adjustments in the app actually stick.
----
After running the root exploit script I can get a SU prompt (#) and run a command. I'm not installing SuperSU until the script makes the modification to the preferences file, but as soon as I try to run another SU command after the first - it hangs and everything stops working . I end up having to restart the tablet by holding the power button and I'm unable to get a SU prompt again without installing SuperSU and changing the setting to "Grant".
I think there is a way to make it work but I'm still digging into it. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to listen!

Need Help for downloading GApps for LineageOS 17.1

Hello;
I am perhaps the newest member of the forum and I am in urgent need of assistance.
My problem:
I was unable to install the associated GApps file while installing the LineageOS 17.1 system on my LG G3 D855 phone. During the installation, the device gave an error warning -I think Error 70- and I completed the installation before I could install the GApss file.
Now; LineageOS 17.1 is installed on my device. However, there is no Google Play application on my device.
How should I go about installing Google Play applications on my device?
As someone who knows very little about installing new software on the phone, I have been able to do this much. Keeping this in mind, I will be happy if you can give me the solution suggestions, starting from the simplest possible.
Thanks..

Said before that i'm not experienced person about installing software to the phones. is it possible to tell me the instructions step by step?
For example: how can i root my device with LineageOS 17.1?
Google Play Store app isn't part of any GApps distribution, AFAIK.
You have to download and install it at yourself:

Question installing vanced root on p7p, can't uninstall OG youtube?!

last youtube vanced version is 17.03, version installed on p7p is 17.17, hence vanced won't install. tried uninstalling via adb in the usual fashion, vanced still won't install, same message - trying to install earlier version. how the hell do i uninstall OG yoiutube properly?
I'm not 100% following you but here is what I always do to get Vanced installed...
I am rooted but this is for the non-root version which I just find easier to use:
1) Install Vanced microG
2) Clear Youtube / Youtube Music cache and data
3) Install Youtube Vanced
4) Install Youtube Music Vanced
5) Disable (not uninstall) Youtube and Youtube Music
Make sense or am I not answering your question?
Long press icon > info > disable > install modded YT
That's what I did to install ReVanced on my 7 Pro and it's not rooted and was an older YouTube version.
yeah i had it installed as non root with micro g but it started throwing me the chromecast error msg about updating google services. so I'm trying to install the rooted version. rooted version works fine on my p6p.
You should be using Youtube Revanced.
Install MicroG
Overwrite provided Youtube with version 17.36.37
Install Revanced Manager then run it
Choose Youtube and select the patches you want to apply
Allow Revanced to work its magic
Install the resulting APK file
Hide or uninstall the original Youtube app

Not tried the Magisk module. But the fact you don't get to choose what aspects you want patching (there are over 30 options to tick/untick when patching in Revanced Manager) suggests to me it's not as versatile.
But if you're rooted and simply want to be rid of the ads, it could be the easier option.
I see that it's a bunch of different patches for each different function. does revanced add options in the menu for these individual functions, like vanced, or does it just implement them? for example if I flash the magisk module, it enables all the patches. will I still be able to enable disable them in the menu? if not perhaps revanced manager is better as you can select which patches to run.

Question Youtube Vanced "installation failed because the user tried to downgrade the package"

I am rooted and bootloader unlocked running the stock rom. I recently wiped the device as part of the steps for enabling 32 bit app support, ever since then I have been unable to re-install youtube vanced. Prior to wiping the device I had no issues running youtube vanced.... The device is a T-Mobile variant, bootloader unlocked and rooted with Magisk Delta installed. I saw a post about running the debloater module to remove youtube and reinstall vanced but this did not work for me :/ Any suggestions/tips or other members that have encountered this issue? I will attach a screenshot of the errors.
Edit to Include the solution for anybody else who encounters this: install the Vanced Magisk module- https://github.com/j-hc/revanced-magisk-module/releases

use app de-bloater (APK + magisk module) to uninstall completely YouTube and YouTube music before u try to install Vance's.
You can also try YouTube ReVanced (no root needed)
Use the magisk module, https://github.com/j-hc/revanced-magisk-module/releases

This is exactly what I did. Youtube was entirely removed before attempting to install Vanced.

that's weird. Had same problem and it worked for me. This error says you have installed later version on this app so you did not uninstall it completely then

Thank you my friend This worked for me
Hello, I could only make it work with SystemlessDebloater:
1) Install the module using Magisk, do not reboot phone.
2) In download directory chang file SystemlessDebloaterList.sh to have REPLACE="YouTube" (case matters)
3) Install the module again.
4) It should detect package com.google.android.youtube, reboot and then vanced youtube installer worked.

FYI that is reVanced not Vanced. Vanced is currently no longer in development and if far different to what you are used to with Vanced. You will also likely need to sideload a specific version of the YouTube apk and install that for all/most patches to work. Currently its sitting at 18.49.36 but until not so long ago (not sure when) it was 17.49.37 which for example I am currently on.
Let Me Downgrade - Apps on Google Play
Add support for downgrading apps on Android 12 and 13.
play.google.com
this always worked for me. have to have root though. and there is a tile packed into the quick settings

Huh, thanks. never heard of this and I honestly just always uninstalled first. I guess this is just a convenience or an improvement to the process as I can't imagine a case for myself where I couldn't just uninstall with/without backing up user data first and then downgrade.

This method works for me! My question is: Can we remove the module after succesfull installation of Vanced? Or if we remove the module we get stuck again with bloatware Youtube app?
If i remove just the config.cfg file ( New Version create .cfg file in Download ) would also return the Youtube bloatware app?

I'm confused. I'd say... you're not rooted?
I'M ROOTED...
Yeah that's weird then
When you open a root app, does it request root?

Just a thought - could it be you patched with another Magisk version rather than the official one?

Do you have another version of the Magisk app hidden? If so, uninstall it.
Also, what exact steps did you take to root?
^^^^ You most likely have another Magisk on your phone, but it's hidden.
That's why apps that previously had root still work.
Go through the apps list and look for the app "Settings" without an icon.

Yeah but if that were the case the apps would ask for root and the prompt would appear.
Nope it doesn't. Not in this scenario

"This scenario" meaning two managers? Actually yes, the prompt is given. I witnessed it myself (again) yesterday.
It seems like you are having trouble getting root access and modules to work on your Pixel 7 Pro. Try these things if they can work-
Update to the latest version of Magisk.
Uninstall and reinstall Magisk.
Check your device's firmware compatibility.Open the Magisk app and go to Settings. Check that the "Magisk Hide" option is enabled and that the "Magisk Core Only Mode" option is disabled.
If none of the above steps work, you may need to flash the stock firmware on your device.
Just try I am hopeful that it will resolve your issue.

I was in the same scenario and it did not prompt me for new apps.
Apps previously granted root would still work, but new ones didn't.

Fair enough, I don't remember about new apps to be honest.

No way to access to the options you mentioned... Look at screenshot pls...
What version of Magisk are you flashing?
Others on the thread....wasn't there a bug on certain Magisk canary versions where root checks were passing and root access was supposedly given to apps, but Magisk wasn't able to implement modules or confirm its own root status? It most likely has to do with that and/or in conjunction with being on a QPR as well....

Hmmm...interesting...
I forgot where I saw it -- it might've been in the main Magisk thread here on XDA, or in one of the Pixel 7 Pro rooting guides, might've even been a PixelFlasher thread -- but there was an issue (I believe it was canary 25206-25209 or something like that) that spoke about this similar issue; root detection would detect root and apps wouldn't put up a warning of lack of root access, but Magisk itself wouldn't confirm its own root status, the modules couldn't be activated, and the apps couldn't actually accomplish the tasks that required root -- it just wouldn't put up a warning/error stating it was lack of root access. I can't recall whatever came of it; I believe it was either downgrading to stable or updating to higher canary of 25210, but I can't recall off the top of my head. I do believe being on QPR was a factor, but I might be misremembering...
I suggest you try "finegling" the search function as best you can and see what users ended up doing...I'll see if I can't find it later...
Just to note, T3B3 runs fine with 26101 for me.
