i used op6 before and all was fine
idk here, pls feedback or is it locked like oneplus 10
No, TWRP barely works on this device. You cant flash it on OOS12/13.

thx for reply, may i ask why? is it bc of OP team? they dont want or allow? or bc of nobody want to work on it? is it recommend to buy?
It's not a bad device overall, performace is great but battery could be better. If you wanna do some heavy gaming it heats a lot and battery won't last.
For development it has few roms but they work seamlessly, even though installation is not as easy as on older devices where you just flash TWRP and wipe data, here you gotta use Lineage recovery which is limited to flash only through adb, but still wouldn't say its hard to accomplish. Anyway, I would look for oneplus 9 pro instead, it has better hardware and a bigger community.

Now that the bootloader can be unlocked, and full rooting is on its way with fully supported TWRP, it will be possible to have a large choice of ROMs.
What do people think will be the best for this -tablet-, er, phone?
Resurrection Remix 5.8 Rom
Thor Galaxy S7 Style Rom
Even as it is the device is very well built and with only rooting I am sure we could do a lot of customisations.

Hi Everyone!
I must have stated this many times before in different threads but let me repeat. Whilst the ZF3U is a very capable and really useful device, the developer community has abandoned any work on this device. Root is available, kernel unlock is available but no attention from developers. I really cannot understand this. Even the Sony Xperia Z Ultra with its lack of features such as a basic flash and dual sim got more roms and customizations than our ZF3Us. ZF3U definitely deserves more attention, in fact it deserves more attention than the Note Series due to its size and base features. I have been wishing for a proper Paranoid Android style rom for a long time but there is not even one credible rom for this device. Very disappointed on this aspect of the device.
CAUTION! In my opinion, and as many have learned the hard way, I would strongly advise that you do not unlock the bootloader and/or root unless you really are prepared for risks. Until decent support becomes available use the device in its original factory state. I am currently on my 2nd ZF3U and have no trouble at all. I even, suspect that the current root method and TWRP may even be corrupt that some users are having these issues. My 1st one died after so many software issues and then root related issues so be cautious is my advice.
@AWFRONT, Thanks for sharing.
There are just no dedicated 'developers' for most of the phones in the market on custom ROMs. All the them are users and volunteers like us. You can always step up as a developer.

I agree but think that Samsung phones seem to be getting the most attention than ASUS and Huawei. As someone who has been following the developments on Custom Roms, I think since the move by most OEMs to bring their UX on their devices closer to stock Android, most developers do not think it is worth any attention apart from Root and may be Xposed mods etc… .
IbwishvI could step up as a developer but, lets say the preessures of life make me stay for the time being as an enthusiastic user but you never know.
At first hi to all of you , you might know me I made twrp and the first root and patched stuff to be able to run AOSP , so but lately I came to the conclusion that the g7 is just not a good device for devs , so I unrooted installed stock and relocked my boot loader.
From this point of time any given support for the device by me will be ended and never picked up again.
Im sry but if u like the device and want rom etc you need to do it yourself now

Hi, so sad to read this, but thanks for your great work. Can i ask you why you stop with this awesome phone? What is the main problem?
Sorry to hear those news, J0SH1X. Same question as kimo9hero, what did lead to the decision of yours? (If you allow us asking
@J0SH1X thanks for all your work, but I think we're naive if we consider any recent LG phone "developer friendly" since all their latest models were lacking support even from the company (very late updates).
Guys there is hope that we'll see modding and roms for our g7?
I don't think so, without at least one enthusiastic dev it's not possible. There are no resources so any potential dev have to figure everything out by himself, constantly risking to brick an expensive device. Luckily, the stock 10f rom works real well and the hardware is superb. One just risk living without some typical root utilities.
I would be happy for some dev picking it up, but I don't count on it.

I totally understand that decision. Read following thread where some problems are mentioned.

Now that we have an official bootloader unlock method and the device can be rooted and everything, it shouldn't take long for the devs to get some custom ROMs working for the Nokia 8. The userbase is nowhere small and I think this phone could really use some community support since it's quite unlikely to be getting Pie.
Here's hoping we get community support just like OnePlus devices. Cheers.

I think the fact that the bootloader unlock came so late is why we don't have development. Besides if you really want custom ROMs then why don't you make one? Would help us all

It seems so. NB1 is the unloved phone from HMD. And juho don't want a growing modding and development community.

I really like my Nokia8 but I am waiting for LineageOS to come, unfortunately I don't have experience with ROMs. Is there any way I can contribute, or is there like an indication when we can expect it to come?

Expect it not to come then you'll be pleasantly surprised if it ever does.
I also think that because bootloader unlock came so late, ROM developers already moved on to other devices and there won't be many ROMs if any.
If we had Treble, at least GSIs could be used, but since we don't and trying to unofficially get it would require skilled developer, I wouldn't get my hopes for custom ROM.
Basically unlockable bootloader gives us only easy rooting and ability to some flash mods via TWRP at this point.
Hi everyone, I've just bought my oneplus 7 pro gm1913 today and I want to ask you some advices about modding this phone... First of all I want to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP and after that:
I want to install gcam, which version do you think it's better?
I'm on Oxygen OS 10.0.10.GM21BA, you advise me to change to a custom ROM or to stay on oxygen? Custom rom for guacamole works on my gm1913 version?
Is it recommended to flash another custom kernel or to stay with stock? Which kernel is better in your opinion?
Sorry for my english and for all these questions, I'm a newbie and I want to learn from you with more experience than me.
Thanks in advance!

welcome to your awesome phone.
1. The stock rom is quite powerful and attractive, and a lot of us on here like it. If you root the phone, then you can freeze/uninstall some of the stock stuff that you may not like or need.
2. The Smurf kernel is absolutely silky smooth on the phone, and it lets you enjoy the awesome battery life. Other kernels are good too, and you may just have to try them out; that's the response you will always get when you ask for an opinion.
to root your phone and get twrp, there is an amazing guide in one of the pinned guide posts by arden144 or GoodSoul.
Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...unlock-twrp-root-and-update.3940368/#poststop
that's your starting point. You might want to take over the air (OTA) updates first before doing the root. Your phone's latest firmware version is 10.3.8 from a week ago.
Good luck, read, search, and then ask.

Congrats to your new phone! Here are some thoughts from a two-year-user that are nowhere to be taken as axiom.
I tried Gcam a few times. I reemember it being a lot of fiddling to get the aux cameras working via Magisk module or flashable zip in twrp. Even then the results of gcam were worse than the stock camera. I made this journey three times and back and OOS camera always won no matter the config I used in gcam.
As for the OS itself, OxygenOS is comfortably close to AOSP and the tweaks made by oneplus feel really nice. It's close to the pixel experience. I would say stay on OOS and wait and see if there is something feature missing you absolutely need. When you want to switch to a custom rom, just check the corresponding thread here in XDA and choose the one you like the most. Mosts of them are still actively supported. One thing you should know is that TWRP backups/restores can break easily if not all stars are aligned perfectly, so be careful to trust those unconditionally.

So I have bought one Poco X3 Pro Indian version recenlty and it arrives tomorrow. I just wanted to know what are the things I should do after getting the phone in hand. I have no past experiences with Xiaomi and I have always used Samsung till now. So MIUI is kinda new for me and I researched around a little bit here and there and found out MIUI is full of bugs and a really heavy android based skin.
I just want to get the most out of my device and get a clean, minimalistic good user experience. Also I will be gaming a bit as well. But dont really need any fancy overclocking that will put pressure on the device and hamper it in the long run.
Thank you. You dont need to tell me everything in detail . But if you can, that would really mean a lot tho. You can just tell me the topics example- 'Unlock your bootloader (MUST)' and I will figure the rest out by searching and googling . Thank you again for your time.

First decide whether you want to use MIUI or custom ROM.
If you want to stay with MIUI, then look in XDA for useful topics. Debloat, root, Magisk modules, battery health preserving or ask what you need, maybe someone has answer for it.
If you want to install custom ROMs, but no experience of flashing custom ROMs, you can read my guide here:

ROM opinion is subjective.
If you are not satisfy with the ROM you are using, can try custom ROMs or modify MIUI.
Many people said MIUI drains battery fast and has a lot of bugs, but some people did not encounter issues and are satisfy with MIUI.
Try and error, life is just like this.
