Failed to get unlock data - Moto G 5G Questions & Answers

I want to put LOS on my new Motorola One 5G Ace (XT2113-2). I downloaded platform tools from here, enabled OEM unlock and USB debugging in settings, and restarted the phone with adb restart bootloader. While in fastboot, fastboot devices showed the device, but every time I tried fastboot oem get_unlock_data it would hang for a while, give up with the following error and reboot into fastboot again:
Code:
% ./fastboot oem get_unlock_data
FAILED (Status read failed (No such device))
fastboot: error: Command failed
I read somewhere that this needs to be done on Windows, so I booted up Windows and downloaded platform tools from here, downloaded the USB driver from here, installed that, rebooted everything and tried again. This time fastboot oem get_unlock_data gave up immediately with another error:
Code:
> fastboot oem get_unlock_data
(bootloader) Failed to get unlock data.
OKAY [ 0.012s]
Finished. Total time: 0.012s
I read somewhere else that I needed to put a SIM card in the device and wait a while. I also tried enabling data before rebooting into fastboot, as well as various USB cables and ports. On two different PCs.
Any ideas?

Help: Repair reboot after wipe failed

I tried to install the official TWRP/Magisk. Everything seem to be ok (I unlocked it) until I was on the step of "Format Data" on TWRP for deencryption. No commands showed and the loading bar was moving and moving.... I waited 8 hours but nothing seem to be happening. I turned off the phone and now it just reboots in loop. I am still able to access both the Fastboot and TWRP. When I access to TWRP first reboots (I guess it change the slot from A to B, because TWRP seems to be working only with B) then it access normally.
Please help I just want to fix the phone even if I dont root it. I tried to use the Lenovo Rescue tool but just shows the message "Unable to match the appropiate firmware. Some key information cannot be read from device".

So I tried flashing some gsi's and they were great other than the fact they never work with verizon(which I have). So I decided to try to rescue and go back to stock but its not reading it as the Edge. I also have tried manually flashing the .imgs but the system imgs fail to flash. Does anyone have any knowledge of what can be done to recue the phone? Thanks in advance.

Yes and the error message is "the device missed ro.carrier" in the smart asst.

I'm not familiar with super.img, but the service.xml says
Code:
<step MD5="66475a16cefbb5f6bbaebfcf23defd25" filename="super.img_sparsechunk.0" operation="flash" partition="super"/>
which if flashing manually should be: fastboot, operation, partition, filename
Code:
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.0
Every time you are going to flash a new firmware you should be looking at the service.xml to see the current commands, they do change from time to time.
or use Rootjunky's Batch Script.

I'm going to give it a try now. If all fails I'll just make a flash all.bat and see if that works. Thank you for all your help! I know what you mean about the super.img. Things keep changing once you get used to it it changes again...

I've done some searching and Super does appear to be the new partition.
Code:

That way did end up flashing!
So I took a flash all from my other motos firmware and modded it from 14 super.img to the 7 for this device moved all the files over started the bat file and my phone is stock once again. I think I'll be staying stock from now on(rooted of course)!

Bootloader won't unlock

This may be a fastboot issue but the info i can find is either too specific or to generic.
Edge, XT2063-3
I got the unlock code from Motorola, entering it gives me this error message:
(bootloader) Check 'OEM unlocking' in Android Settings > Developer
(bootloader) Options
FAILED (remote: '')
fastboot: error: Command failed
The option is greyed out, I did a factory reset, set a pin, it won't boot into recovery mode.
Sorry if wrong thread.

I'm unfamiliar with
Code:
ro.carrier: timit
Is this a Latin American carrier?
Some moto phones on Latin American carriers sometimes have a time delay on the OEM unlock toggle, it may take a few days before it can be unlocked.
Edit: otherwise the cid is good for unlock
Code:
cid: 0x0032
Made for an EU Country, sold in Germany. So i wait and keep the phone on? Sounds doable. I'll report back.
It is a TIM branded Phone, formerly Telecom Italia. I did not recognize the logo and thought it to be one of the features/services of google or Motorola. I only do this every few years.
The automatic/ota update did the trick, i had not seen fit to allow internet access before. The Option was no longer greyed out, phone unlocked as expected.
Many thanks for your help!
I am stuck , on unlock website. No blue "request" button shows up. Using firefox, chrome, or ipad on safari. US unlocked, from best buy, on launch day. Code sent, says can't be unlocked, but can't even request for key.

Question Bootloader unlocking

I recently got a replacement phone through my metro PCs insurance it's the xt2131-1 Denver varient. My original phone before the replacement I was able to get my bootloader unlocked, but when I copy and pasted the unlock data code into Motorola's unlocking page it said my device was not eligible for unlocking , I even tried signing into Motorola's site with a different email and password so my other phone wouldn't be linked to my account, why would one phone be eligible and the replacement device not be
I didn't use a website, after a bit of time the option in developer options becomes available and I clicked it

That doesn't unlock the bootloader, it only allows the bootloader to be unlocked.

Your CID "0032" should be good.
Code:
(bootloader) cid: 0x0032
but the Software channel "ro.carrier" maybe the issue
Code:
(bootloader) ro.carrier: tmo
Generally, if it's not a Retail software channel (RetUS, RetEU, RetLA..), it's locked at carrier request.
edit: you should remove the imei # from your post, it's sensitive info.

Question Help with pseudo unbricked device

HI all! i`m stuck on bootloader... i brick my g100 trying to install a custom rom, unbrick it with EDL (thank god!).
but now i`m stuck on bootloader. I`ve confused about my phone region, already reflash the stock rom of RETBR region, but RSA tool tells me that it is RETAIL (and idk the difference).
Right now i can access my phone via bootloader, but all commands return (remote failure). Unfortunately the bootloader is now locked and when i run fastboot flashing unlock or fastboot oem unlock <my code> it returns that i need unlock OEM via Developer tools, BUT, i can`t access the system to do that! lol
one thing that i realize on my getvar all is that the current_slot property is empty and ro.carrier mismatch version-bootloader and others properties
any clue to save me? I`m mainly using Linux btw but have access at Windows if need to.

I dont understand why you guys keep relocking the bootloader, that really should not be advised.

Managed to solve?
And what with the following command?:
Code:
fastboot --set-active=b
Can be a or b of course ;-)
