Question Anyone want to collaborate to port LineageOS to Tab P11 Plus? - Lenovo P11

It's a mediatek processor and supports SPFlash byapss in case we screw up we can still recover...
Lenovo posted the 4.14 kernel, I tried building it and it seems to compile without any errors. Just need help getting the proprietary blobs and to build a device tree.

What's the model number of this?
I have a P11 TB-J606F
I am a developer, but I have no knowledge of how to extra the blobs ?
Can you post a link to the kernel sources ?

That is the snapdragon variant, likely much easier to develop a custom rom for...
I am talking about the mediatek one which is the cheaper model (although they call it "plus")

You can get the source from lenevo's open source website and search for your model...
There are scripts floating around that can help you extract the blobs from your running device or a system image.
You'll have to make a device tree though

Ah. OK
I noticed something on github about Levono not releasing the latest kernel sources in a reasonable period of time.

You might have a lot of work to do then. You can compare with other tablets with the same SOC. Snapdragon is very common and they release their own source as well and can rebuild the kenrnel.
You can use that guys kernel and see what the panic is to figure out what he is missing. It's def possible!

Yep. Probably a year old kernel should be fine, and the other guy's kernel probably has a miss configuration

anyone out there to test custom rom for P11 plus? I have compiled it but I haven't received the bootloader unlock email reply so cant test myself

Is LineageOS working on this tablet? I recently bought the tablet for my son (on a whim, without doing much research) obviously a fault on my part but i was hoping someone smarter than me got it working. I don't mean to come off rude demanding anything, just hoping someone has it working.

Can I use tb- j607 f android ROM on tb-j606f the only difference is the chipset ..snapdragon 775 and 662..the hardware the same ..please help

Cannot get android 13 for tb-606f please help

I dont think there is one for that as that is not an official version of Android. Very few China based Android phones are supported by AOSP. You may have to start it yourself if you want it. The first thing you will need to do is have the OEM post the kernel source code for the device. This will be your biggest challenge. As most China OEM dont respect the GPL laws

What if there is no source of kernel? Can I use compiled kernel (3.0.13) from current firmware (4.0.3) or this is impossible?

Without kernel source your kinda out of luck. No that kernel will not work on AOSP as that 4.0.3 is not an official android version. It is a hacked together version. Your best bet would be to sell it and get something that is not a knock off.

Got to write to the OEM. Only they will be able to release the kernel source. Good luck. Dont hold on to hope though. They are not forced to post kernel source like everyone else.

Don't you know is it real to compile with another kernel for same CPU MT6575?
Found some links to kernel sources for other phones - seems to be working for different devices.

Kernel source availability for The Nokia 3 and other models ?

When is Nokia going to release the kernel source for the Nokia 3 ?
It would be of much help if Nokia will give out the sources for aftermarket development.
If u by any means get hands on it, please kindly share.

Yeah I know but it would be good enough to ask them.
I was previously on a Motorola device(Moto E4-woods) the mtk variant, which we had to ask for kernel source before the released it.
Am currently trying to work on custom Roms for Nokia 3, but going with stock kernel isn't enough.

we can still port roms without kernel source, but we need to find rom with same cpu, gpu and same kernel version.

Will there be a Custom Rom?

Does anyone know about this topic?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-10/how-to/custom-development-t4018813
In short:there are same some efforts trying to get custom Roms but nothing groundbreaking yet.
I am working on the device tree right now to compile from source. Not ready yet and don't have the device in hand right now (should arrive soon) s.o. else is trying with treble images.

I thought device tree is something that was used to be leaked from Xiaomi
As far as I can see there is no device tree published by xiaomi for tucana (our device)
Only thing we have rn is kernel source.
But we can create device tree by ourself. There are some basic guides online. Rest is compare with existing device trees for similar devices and copy&paste.
for now I have downloaded k20 device tree, removed everything k20-specific (e. G. Popup Camera) and adapt further files for our device(s)
When my handset arrives (should be today) I can start unlock procedure (should take some time to get the code AFAIK), then I can unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and see if I can get my device to boot properly after flashing... Then comes troubleshooting.
Right now I am expecting maybe a halfway booting device or broken/missing functionality at best. But we will see
I hope soon
The more people help together the faster we can get some Roms ?

Anyone willing to collaborate is welcome to pm me as well
I have seen this Android 9 source code. Is it helpful?
https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/tucana-p-oss
I thought this model would have more support and after 4 months there is no Rom. I hope that now that the price is going down more people buy it and we have more community. Thank you for what you know and develop.

Just an incomplete kernel sources, I think is useless.
https://www.xda-developers.com/poss...-fcc-certified-snapdragon-730g-penta-cameras/
There will be a lite edition soon. The only difference on hardware is number of pixels.
If its ROM is same or almost the same to current models, we should get some progress around development.
Anything new?

Well, just tell me if you need help.
Same here, I am very tempted by the Note 10 but I am waiting for an aosp rom as many people complained about the stock miui rom
Any news or update on this? Would love to buy a Mi Note 10 as their prices have gone down but with the lack of development I'm kind of leaning towards the 9t even tho I'm worried about that front camera as some have had issues. I suspect not many are developing for this device because of the high price. Hopefully whoever said something up there about the Note 10 lite gets custom ROMs going with more devs
I'm still trying here but very short on time. We have some good progress on device tree thanks to someone else (thanks Hlcpereira).

Question Now Focusing On Custom Rom (LineageOS) For Our Galaxy Z Flip 3

Hello
I did Bought a Samsung Galaxy Z flip 3 demo version , i want to build TWRP for it
Spoiler: That is Done
yesterday i downloaded the Kernel source code from Samsung , now i just need TWRP Sources and and Create a Device Tree to built it
if you want TWRP for this phone , just comment down below (for some motivation)
Spoiler: that done too , look for the custom working kernel
Now For a The Custom Kernel
I Manage to Get A Custom Kernel Working with A lot Of Optimisations (Thanks @chrisaw and Others) on a Old OneUI (That System That Came with the Kernel) and it work well (it need some minor touches)
the Kernel Cant Work on Newer OneUI and Custom Roms (Pixel EXperience) because Of new Changes in Vendor Are not Compatible with the Kernel
A guess this Need A lot Of Working (Everytime Samsung do it their Way and Dont Care about The Correct Way)
ScreenShot of the Kernel
Spoiler: That is Done too too
now on Focusing on The Custom Rom , i download LineageOS 19.0 Source Code as i will build for 2 separate phones (Galaxy Z Flip3 'snapdragon 888' and UMIDIGI F1 Play 'Mediatek Helio P60') consecutively
this rom will be based on treble gsi patches but working only on Galaxy Z Flip3
i manage to build LineageOS 19.0 for Galaxy Z Flip3 , i will not share it now cause :
1 - it is not daily driver or usable , you can call it pre-alpha
2 - it has a lot of bugs that i saw , it could be other i didn't
3 - it is a Treble gsi just for testing purposes and does not have gapps (gapps needed to be included in the gsi not like a normal rom)
4 - i fix the fingerprint , now it is usable
5 - don't ask me about rear screen , it is perfectly not working at all (if you close the phone , the main display become black , rear screen have just samsung galaxy logo....)
6 - other things i forgot
Any Help will be appreciated
Stay Tune
Thanks
Yeah I'd like to see a fully functional TWRP
yes!
really appreciated!
I'm in
hells yeah
ok so i reinstall my ubuntu setup cause apt went broken , but now im good to start
my initial work is the device tree , it is still WIP

That kernel never booted, so that would probably do more harm than good. It does, however, include the changes to make an inline kernel build outside the source. It was more an example than a template.

there is some minor problems i will fix them and upload it here
also the kernel does not boot on oneui , i have to fix it
the work is done (or atleast it works)
you can check it here TWRP Thread
@twistedumbrella i build the kernel it works on twrp but no luck with OneUI (even with knox and other security measurements disabled) it does panic (kernel panic) i need to do some investigation regarding this , if you want to help i will upload my kernel source code soon
I have the US version, which is why I abandoned the kernel. I had no way to test the changes specific to Samsung, which would be OneUI.
Your best bet would be looking into the changes for an S21 / S22 because they are going to have the Samsung specific changes.

Samsung A13 (sm-a135m) 64bit kernel building

Hi Everyone!
I'm very new to this topic, this is my very first time trying to build a kernel from source code. As setup i've a samsung a13 SM-A135M (which is the 4g version of a13 series), this phone by default is forced to work 32bit on a processor and hardware that has the capability to go full 64bit.
The question is:
I've inquiried the correct version and baseband that corresponds to my device, on https://opensource.samsung.com/, and they uploaded the source code of it (the baseband is A135MUBU1AVB5), so with this source code should i be able to build a 64bit version of both kernel and android OS , or this source code only works for 32 bit installations?
Thanks and Regards!
Hi, I just asked a very similar question here: https://androidforums.com/threads/i...this-problem-a13-samsung.1347411/unread?new=1
And someone's reply brought me to your thread. I don't exactly know much about coding but an experienced user said he did some searching, his answer is on my thread. As of now there is no way that he could find to get a 64bit software on the a13, hopefully this changes.
Hi!! thats right, the problem that you have is what has driven this question, although i've the source code for building the OS i'm waiting for someone more experienced to tell me if this source is able to build a 64 bit version of the OS and Kernel for the A13 phone. Hope we find this experienced person
