Hi to all. First of all, sorry for my bad english as english is not my native language. I have a rooted ICS stock Android 4.0.4 running on Motorola Razr HD (XT925) (Argentina - Personal). Bootloader unlocked and Custom Recovery installed with no problems. I had full encryption on /sdcard and /data, too.
The problems begins when I try to install CyanogenMod, as Custom Recovery (and TWRP) cannot mount or format /sdcard and /data.
The ROM's anyways installs OK, but the problems begins when the different versions of CyanogenMod try to boot. This is what happened with the versions I tried (I was putting the .zip rom and gapps files on an external sd that is not encrypted (external_sd) ):
cm-10.1-20130723-UNOFFICIAL-epinter-xt925 (Android 4.2)
Installation from Custom Recovery ok. This version skips asking for the internal storage password, and is the only version that works. But the wifi on this version doesn't work and my internal storage is not accesible.
cm-10-20130421-UNOFFICIAL-epinter-xt925 (Android 4.1)
Installation from Custom Recovery ok. This version asks for the internal storage password at boot, but the keyboard crash when I try to type it (so I cannot finish the configuration).
cm-10.2-20130820-UNOFFICIAL-epinter-xt925 (Android 4.3)
Installation from Custom Recovery ok. This version asks for the internal storage password at boot and the keyboard works, but then the CyanogenMod boot logo appears and continue in an infinite loop (so I cannot finish the configuration).
Liquid-JB-v2.9-08142013-xt925 (Android 4.2) (not a CyanogenMod ROM but I tried it anyways)
Installation from Custom Recovery ok. This version doesn't even boot, I turn on the phone (the "M" logo appears) and stays there forever.
The only temporary solution that I'm on right now was to restore the stock rom (I made a backup with Custom Recovery).
It pretty seems that the root of these problems is that the device is encrypted, so the solution would be to "unencrypt" the partitions and format all the data that are there (I made a backup of the internal storage too, so I dont mind of loosing that data); but I searched the whole internet and couldn't find an answer that work. I tried doing a factory reset from the original ROM (Settings - Privacy Settings...) (didn't worked, because it tries to load the stock recovery and now I'm on Custom Recovery), tried using TWRP (some sites says it is capable to handle encrypted devices, but does the exact same that Custom Recovery does, it cannot format or mount /sdcard and /data, and never ask for my password), etc etc ...
Any ideas to format the internal storage or install a ROM that works well with encrypted storage? Any more information you need, I will be glad to tell you.
Thanks to all!
facing this weird error Coming From stock GPE Rom with Stock kernel XT1032 Model with unlock bootloader i am on TWRP 2.7 this one(http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2759058). Before flashing the rom I wiped the cache system partition except the internal data partition (Internal storage)
i have Flashed the rom then slim gapps when i boot the rom i am faced with this error
Encryption unsuccessful
Encrypton was interuupted and cant complete the data on your phone is no longer accesible
and RESET button at the bottom when i pressed that button it goes in recovery and formats something and again I am faced with that Encryption unsuccessful screen. I Tried Omni Rom too but still Facing with this error
i have never encrypeted my phone!!! pls help really wanna try this rom
Make full wipe including internal memory
everything will be wiped including the existing rom
adb push any rom of yourchoice and install it asusual
commad
adb push yorromname.zip /sdcard/
Click to collapse
all will be fine.
this error is due to the mismatch partition of ext4 and f2fs
Thanks for the help really appriciated also do I have to do everytime when flashing the rom or only for rom utilizing f2fs partition coz I really don't wanna wipe internal data every time, Also are all the custom rom based on f2fs partition? Really confused
Tried wiping internal storage still Facing same error :crying:
i believe Stock GPE uses Ext4 and all custom rom uses F2fs
So what to do really help needed??
So how do i convert to F2fs to flash custom roms
So, I wanted to install a custom ROM, but somewhere along the way something went wrong and I got stuck in a bootloop, I've been reading up on some threads and I followed some steps that were supposed to fix it, but I feel like I'm in even more trouble now (Well, my phone is still alive so I still have hope but yeah..)
Anyways, I'm using Philz custom recovery now, I tried to do a wipe to install a new or stock ROM, at first it said the wipe was succesful, so I tried installing the ROM, but during the install I kept getting:
E: Error mounting /data
It did say the installation was succesful, but after I rebooted it kept trying to wipe eventhough I did not ask for this.
Got another mount error and said Wipe Failed.
Now when I try to sideload stock ROM I get errors like:
Formatting Cache
Formatting /sd-exxt
E: Uknown volume for path /sd-ex
(I also don't know why it's doing that since this phone has no SD card) I got the Falcon edition with the internal storage. Also when my computer recognizes my phone and I want to open the phone folder, there is no longer an Internal Storage folder.
Anyways after those errors it says Data Wipe Complete, Wiping System, Now flash new ROM
But nothing flashes properly it seems due to the mounting error. I've looked for solution, but I can only seem to find threads that involve Samsung
and when I find a solution video it has something to do with either taking your battery out of your phone (which you can't do with this phone) or something
with your SD card (which this phone doesn't have).
So yeah, I'm running out of ideas here and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.

The phone has a virtual SD card.
I had a similar issue. Try flashing TWRP recovery and go to wipe > format data (THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA) then reboot recovery. Worth a shot if you're not able to use your phone. You can copy over SD card contents to a computer first via TWRP by mounting MTP, or use USB OTG..
Hello . my error and the following after I did mount script 2 partition by appsd2 asked for min reboot the cell reboot ai gave boot loop when I was install custom rom error that can not be mounted efs data storage system. I tried reisntalara rom stock did not work gave the same error and when cleaned by twpr does not do the same.
Can anyone help me, please?
My device Realme X2 chines ROM. I am flashing Lineage OS via TWRP and everything fine and worked. But when I am trying to install the "disable force encryption zip" file via TWRP it's say
! Cannot mount /odm
updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/disable.....zip
After the reboot system always shows encryption unsuccessful message.
I reinstall the ROM, WIPE Dalvik/ART Cache cache system data internal storage, Format Data,
But when I reboot the system again shows encryption unsuccessful message.
Can anyone please tell me how to fix my phone?
Sorry for my bad English.
Best regards,
Mamun
