Question Teyes CC3 or atoto S8? - FYT Android Head Units

I don't know if this is the right form for this but I'm looking at buying a head unit for my '90s S10 and 3D printing a trim piece for it and I'm looking at the teyes CC3 or the atoto S8. I wanted to get some of your opinions from people who have actually used these before, before I actually throw down on one.
I know which one I'm looking at buying but what do you think of these two HUs?

For me Atoto has better support and more user groups to share their experiences. Also the interface looks more like stock Android to me.

I had an issue with a previous atoto ( 10" f7 unit, it was not their fault my factory backup cam doesn't like non factory screens) and they sent out a free ahd backup camera.
They also sent a free steering wheel remote in exchange for an amazon review.
So I was happy with their support but want to note they do attempt to "sway" user sentiment.

Eonon GA8153A support?

Hi all!
I just bought an Eonon GA8153A for my Seat Leon. Spec is as follows :
Designed for Volkswagen/SEAT/SKODA
Allwinner T8 Processor
Android 7.1 Nougat
2GB Ram
32GM Rom
Having been involved with tinkering in Android previously. I decided to look if a custom rom was available for it, I can't seem to find anything but I see lots of devices seem to all be the same ones just badged up differently. does anybody know if this unit will be compatible with any existing Roms?
Thanks in advance for any information anybody can offer!

So it's arrived today and I've installed it in my car, operation seems Smooth but seemingly simple feature of iPod connection is missing! I didn't expect that one to be missing. I knew Apple CarPlay was going to be a long shot but I did expect it to still have standard iPod connectivity via the usb cable!
I see there are CarPlay adapters so I'm contemplating ordering one of those for it. Both myself and my wife have Apple devices so would make sense to have the function really.
Before I spend even more money trying to get the head unit to do what I thought wore be basic functionality, am I missing the blatantly obvious to get iPod connection to work?

Question TEYES CC3 Front and rear dash camera?

I am going to purchase a Teyes CC3 I was going to get the CC2 but it i only a one hundered dollar difference. I am also putting this in a 2000 Camry and I only wanted the 7inch but the cc3 and 2 only come in a 9inch if you want more memory. So I hope it fits well. Anyway, I am wanting to get the dash camera for it instead of installing a separate system and so I can jus hook it up to the head unit. I see they only offer the front dash and the "back up" camera. Can I just install the back up camera in side the car? I feel like it will eventually just get stolen if I mount it on the outside. Will the back up features not work if I do that. Or can I just get to front cameras and use one for my rear? I really don't need to use the software lines for the back up camera anyway.
You can mount the cam anywhere you want. Just be advised the backup lines won't be accurate.
Backup cams are different from forward cams in that they are reversed images. If you are not sure where you want to mount then best get universal cams where you can switch the image around and turn the lines on/off if need be.

Do you realize if you buy a Teyes branded unit over another FYT unit offered by multiple resellers such as Mekede, Eiky, Navifly etc, that, the Teyes are software limited whereas the others are not?
You'll be stuck looking for mods, cameras that work, obd adapters....
Same unit, not software limited.

You mean the android system is locked? I didn't realize that. What brand do you think I should get? I have never heard of these other brands. I was about to purchase a 10 inch universal double din from Teyes with the front and rear camera. I am not really sure that I care if it is locked though. I would be getting the cameras that come with it and I would only be watching movies, music and internet. Maybe I would want to install a emulator. I don't see how locked android would not let me do that. I won't be using the OBD adaptor and if I did I would just buy theres since it is the same price has all the other ones. I don't care about mods.

Question Help to choose Teyes multimedia system for Renault Megane 2?

Hello good evening,
First of all, hello to all of you, I am new and apologize in advance if I have created the post in the wrong place.
I have been looking to install a multimedia system for my Renault Megane 2 and I have found the Teyes system. The problem I have is that I totally do not know the difference between each model and I have seen that there are several. CC2, CC2L, SPRO+, CC3 and X1. I imagine that the CC3 system is the newest but I don't want a top of the range either if I'm not going to take full advantage of it. For example:
1 - I don't know what functionality it has to have 4G in the Teyes system, I imagine that for this it will be necessary to contract an internet line through an additional SIM and that really does not interest me since I can share the phone data with Teyes, right?
2 - Is the X1 a new model that just came out or is it old?
3 - What are all the Teyes models for the Megane 2 to have more or less a reference and be able to compare prices?
Thank you so much.
Pd: I have found these 2 comparative videos but I don't understand anything because they are in Russian.

Just buy a generic FYT uis7862, the likes of sold by equally as fictitious brands such as Mekede, Navifly.
This will get you a good unit without the Teyes tax and changes Teyes make to block devices like cameras, bluetooth, etc.
Avoid the fake brand Teyes.

Question Canbus Decoder

Hi, I was just wondering if a canbus decoder made for my car will work on any android head unit. I want to get the Teyes cc3 but it’s not compatible with the trim of my car so would it be possible to use a decoder from AliExpress to make it work. For reference I have the 2013 Honda Accord 9th gen EX-L
Just buy an FYT uis7862 the likes of what mekede, navifly and others sell.
Teyes is a con.

Why buy a Teyes if even the trim is not correct?
Anyway: Contact Teyes. All those FYT units support 7-8 (more?) types of CANbus decoders. Just ask them which CANbus decoder would suit best for your car.

I already contacted Teyes and they only said I can only try but they don’t know if it will work. They weren’t able to give me any information. I also want the Teyes one because I think they have the best UI. Ossuret sells the head unit compatible for my trim of car so I’m just curious as to whether I can use a decoder on the Teyes head unit.

What’s wrong with Teyes? I think the closest think to teyes that I’d get if I can’t make teyes work is Ossuret since they provide compatibility and it’s most similar in UI and specs.
A similar question. If I buy any canbus for my Mokka will it work with a Teyes cc3.

Not just obds dongles!
Teyes is pulling an" Apple" by locking their hardware and software.
By that logic why buy one of these units when most cars have screens "nowadays " or you can just plaster you phone into your dash ,my advice to you, do your research about the unit you want to buy so you don't regret Iater. If the teyes one is what you want by all means get it.

Cheers. I've been offered a cc3 but it for a different car. I can buy a dedicated canbus ,leads and dash kit for my car quite cheaply on Ali express. I'm just wondering if they will work with the cc3

Honestly, the only reason I'm really pushing for the CC3 is cuz the UI just looks more flush and better than all other FYT units. I also saw a thread on here that allows you developer access for the cc3 with the pin code provided by another member. The CC3 really has everything I'd see myself needing, Play Store with access to youtube netflix spotify, etc. Obviously the Apple Carplay + Android Auto. Other than those things, I don't see myself needing anything more than that. But out of curiosity, what would I be able to do by getting an open FYT unit as opposed to the CC3 being closed?

I'm not versed enough to answer your question directly but there are some things like this (which Might also work on cc3).
I personally would avoid teyes because i like as much control over devices as possible (adds to future proofing imo)

All the FYT 7862 units offer everything you mentioned. They all have access to the same developer options. They all have the Play Store, with access to the same apps. They all have the carlink app giving access to Carplay & Android Auto.
The only physical thing the CC3 has that the others don't is a gyroscope which is only really used to make the image of a car turn on 1 of their launchers. The gyro can be added to any unit.
The main difference with the Teyes is their locked down eco system and their UI. If you think their UI is worth so much more money then yes buy the CC3.
Teyes do their firmware/kernels in a unique way where the apps (usually inside the AllAppUpdate.bin file) are embedded within the 6315_1.zip kernel.
It means you can only install updates from Teyes and every update pretty much wipes the unit.
Teyes have been breaking more than they've been fixing with their recent updates, with 1 of the latest ones breaking WiFi and GPS.
I prefer to have the ability to customize my unit, including using Marios excellent MD Edition kernel. I like having the option of downloading the most recent kernel no matter what reseller released it.
I can easily customise my unit to look similar to Teyes if I wanted.
The CC3 was nearly twice the price of what I paid for my Mekede/Navifly unit. I could add 100 gyroscopes for that price.
Personally I wouldn't pay twice the price for what is essentially just a theme/skin, with added restrictions.
The good thing is there's plenty of info around about the differences between Teyes and non Teyes FYT units for you to make a comparison.
It's your money so you have the option to buy whatever 1 you want.

Question Teyes CC3 Vs Mekede m700s

So I have done alot of RTFF... But I can't seem to get a good picture of what the best option is for my cars aftermarket head unit needs.
Alot of the posts are either pro Teyes or pro Mekede but mostly I am finding just vauge reasons why its not a good idea to go with the Mekede in the Teyes threads and vice versa.
From a hardware stand point it seems like m700s is the way to go (8gigs of ram vs cc3's 6 gigs). Though the m700s claims android 11 and that puts a negative light on it since thats untrue
The UI looks more polished in the CC3 and it seems like Teyes support their issues better. (Please correct me if they is incorrect)
Now on top of that, security is a bit of an issue to me. Are either of these units going to be calling home and dumping data to a server in China? I would assume teyes has the upper hand here as they wrote everything themselves. Am I off base with that?
I also know that teyes locks down their system and you have to pay for some extras if you want them. What kind of things do you have to pay for??
On the other side Mekede sees to have more bugs/issues.
I was hoping to hear from both sides with a little in depth detail of the pros and cons.
I should also note this is just for my car. I dont really have any intention right now of rooting and customizing what ever unit I get. But that could easily change if something pisses me off and suddenly I feel the need to root and make changes.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
You have already mentioned all arguments in your own post.

I only want to make a few remarks on above statements.
To start with the second: T'eyes is FYT, just like Mekede. T'eyes does not write everything themselves. They do modify some of the apps, add some own apps and change the partition scheme, next to being a slightly more "closed" platform. That makes them the odd one out. Some think that is positive, some don't.
For the dumping of data on Chinese servers: On the Sofia units (2015-2016) we did analyze the software and found routines and server names that could dump data to that servers. When doing network sniffing on those units while on the bench in "some" network, there was no data going to these servers.
I personally did not check this anymore on the sc9853i and the uis7862. I guess it is not important enough.
Both reseller brand of units are good quality, when referring to Chinese low cost units.
If you want a good unit you should also look at Joying, next to Mekede and Teyes.
Do not only look at "fancy, shiny" launchers: Does it only look nice or is it also flexible in use? Some of those fancy launchers are very rigid in use. Take a good look at that.
But even more: look at one of those reseller that offers the best fit for your car and dashboard.
In the end it all comes down to personal taste.

Thank you for easing my mind about the security issues!
What kind of things need to be paid extra for on the CC3 (That you wouldnt have to on other systems)? Cant seem to find much of an answer on that.
