PixysOS-v5.1.6-VANILLA-land-UNOFFICIAL
Another Cherry-picked rom, based on pure AOSP with minimal customizations.
Added GcamGO and Xiaomi Parts
Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
WHAT WORKS?
Almost everything.
WHAT DOESN'T WORK?
The clock app is screwed up, the alarm doesn't always go off, thank Google for that. Other apps such as Simple Alarm work fine.

Thanks for providing that ROM, I have been using it for a few days now. The only thing that is worrying to me is that the battery drains relatively fast even though I use it very mildly. I hope that it can be improved upon in subsequent releases.

Yes it's true, at first I thought it was the fault of my battery, which is already years old. I think that this problem is also influenced by the fact that the new Android is more resource intensive, it would be a good solution if someone made a custom kernel with management such as battery saving. Unfortunately I do not have the time to do this, I have compiled the ROM in my spare time and made it available for you so that you too can enjoy Android 12 on your phone. Best regards.
Hello everyone.
Small rom update to version 5.1.6
Kernel updated to version 4.9.330
New security patch from 5 Oct 2022
GcamGo v2 added
Thanks for the excellent ROM
Does this have smart charging/cutoff feature? If no, any idea to include it in future? Would help save the already deteriorating battery life

The rom was compiled from the full source. If there is no such option in the settings it means that it was not available in the source. I have never seen such an option in android.

You can use the Battery Charge Limit app to cutoff charging. You can find it on F-Droid here: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.slash.batterychargelimit/ (requires root). I use it with the 3S on Android Pie, so hopefully it will work on Android 12 as well.

Its present in Havoc on A11. Have also seen in other devices using custom roms especially on Havoc and Bliss sources.
This is the source for ACC which works similarly but requires root. https://github.com/VR-25/acc
Anyway to include this in rom? Thanks in advance

I used to use ACC for rom without this support but it requires root. Which would then cause issues in some banking apps and then requires hiding. So was wondering whether could do away without root. Thanks for the suggestion

Secondly, I will not implement features in it on request. Regards.

Even better is to manually limit the maximum charging voltage. Root is necessary of course.
I have experienced a strange issue with UPI on boarding process not succeeding in WhatsApp in a few different ROMs in Land. I have tried Fork LOS A11 and Lineage and Syberia A12. No issues with UPI in any other app. Can anyone please confirm whether UPI works in case of WA in this ROM or not? I can get UPI in WA to work if I move the SIM card to any other device.

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)

I am curious: Is this Rom based on the pure AOSP source code, or based on the lineage (CyanogenMod) sources? If it is based on pure AOSP is there a white balance setting? (like live display on lineage)

This ROM is based on AOSP and CAF. Not on LineageOS. We have Night Light which turns down the blue level (good for night etc.).
For manual precise settings, use Kernel Adiutor (root needed) which is available on Play Store.
Just go into the Display section and there you can find various settings.
Screenshots updated.

Awesome ROM Just flashed it on my 3T....It's the pure AOSP experience, very nice. So far it seems even snappier than lineage...

Fingerprint should work fine, there have been changes to it.
I don't know about heating issues but that shouldn't happen (our testers did not report such an issue as far as I know).
Just flashed this ROM. Nice and fast. I did find one bug however. I prefer to use a navigation bar, and long pressing
the home button does not bring up google assistant. However, binding the double tap to search assistant does bring google
assistant up. Actually I kind of like that now that I've set that, but thought I'd mention it.
FP scanner, fast and stable.

Alert Slider Support
Code:
[1] Performed via implementation of additional multi-threading on boot etc.
[2] Tweaked [I]`surfaceflinger`, `inputflinger`, `System Server`[/I] & more...
[3] We do not ship 3rd party EQs or other [I]crap[/I] you may sometimes find.
Our sound system is completely clean and thus provides great soundmod
support if that's what one really wants.
[4] Enabled via FFMPEG & additional codecs.
[5] Example: Disabled Access Time
| Waste of write cycles and impacts I/O performance on random writes.
[6] Vulkan is available if the chipset/SOC's GPU supports Vulkan.
Installing for the first time
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)
* Wipe [B]'/system', '/data' & '/cache'[/B].
[I](Optional: For `Dirty Flash`, do not wipe anything)[/I]
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Want Google Apps? Obtain and flash the latest GApps from http://opengapps.org/
* Flash any other system modifications you may want e.g. SuperSU/phh's SuperUser.
* Reboot.
Manually updating the ROM
XOS ships with an OTA updater built-in which should automate the downloading and flashing process,
however should your wish be to manually update the ROM, you should be our guest.
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)
* [b]Please do not[/b] wipe anything, including Cache/Dalvik/ART, the ROM has you covered.
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Reflash any system modifications e.g. SuperSU/phh's SuperUser.
* Reboot.
You do not need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You do not need to flash Google Apps again*.
You do not need more than 5 minutes.
* Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
Screenshots
Currently right now, halogenOS will only include the stock Android theme.
We may one day decide to use a custom theme as soon as that theme is working perfectly fine.

CopperheadOS
A security and privacy focused mobile operating system compatible with Android apps
Code:
* Your warranty is voided.*
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, Third World War, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, i will laugh at you.
And again here we presents a rom only one of its kind... CopperheadOS - a hardened FOSS operating system based on the Android mobile platform. Its based on Android Open Source Project with added privacy and security features.
Prerequisites :-
Redmi 3S/Prime/3X with Unlocked Bootloader
Latest TWRP or RedWolf TWRP.
Download and Store the ROM in Internal (Links in Second Post)
Download latest OpenGapps. (Actually Copperhead doesn't support GApps and it uses F-Droid. But GApps working for some. )
Instructions :-
Reboot to Custom Recovery.
Wipe System, Data, Cache/Dalvik
Click Install and Select the Installer ZIP then Swipe to (Start) Install.
Flash Gapps if you want...
Boot will take more time than other ROMs. So, just simply wait till it boot. :silly:
Features :-
Android baseline
Exec-based spawning model
Chromium / WebView
Bionic libc improvements - Hardened allocator, Regions, Small allocations, Large allocations, Extended _FORTIFY_SOURCE implementation, Dynamic object size queries, Function pointer protection
Compiler hardening
Enhanced SELinux policies (Now we are in permissive tho... )
Encryption and authentication - Support for longer passwords, Reduced side channel leakage for file-based encryption, PIN entry scrambling, Lower Fingerprint unlock Attempts
Privacy-focused defaults
Networking Security Improvements
Attack surface reduction
Silence - SMS App
Kernel hardening (Not Implemented in our builds yet )
Warning :-
In Copperhead you won't be able to break system screen lock like pattern, pin or passwords. i.e. Usually when restoring a backed up ROM from TWRP it messes the screenlock, we won't be able to unlock even with the right password. So we use some flashable zips or manually deleting gatekeeper files to bypass screenlock. And THIS TRICK WON'T WORK IN COPPERHEAD. SO, REMOVE PASSWORD PROTECTION BEFORE TAKING BACKUP VIA TWRP.
FAQs :-
* Copperhead is a very special ROM, Do you have permission to distribute it...?
Non-commercial modification and redistribution are still permitted.

- Wikipedia
Btw, I mailed to the official address about this unoffcial build and waited for reply a long time.... No reply yet Then referred some Wikis & Tweets of Coppehead. if i'm correct its licensed under GPL3.
* Why this ROM takes more time to boot..?
Copperhead have many security measure like verified-boot. It may be the cause of Loooooong boot process... still we are working to fix it....
* Is this ROM is stable...?
To me - "YES". Its stable enough to used as a daily driver for me. According to me the meaning of STABLE is depends on the user. There may be some bugs... if you can point them with logs.

Wow great job .....
Going to flash it right now...
Will report soon....:good:
This ROM is different and great!
-Security is a concern almost everywhere.
-Smooth and neat, clutter-free settings, almost vanilla.
I couldn't disable on-screen buttons, tried modifying build.prop.
Before anyone could ask,
Tried this ROM with gapps.
-Flashed ROM, then gapps - play services FC. Couldn't get past "Getting info..."
-Flashed ROM and GApps, unbelievably slow. Couldn't get past welcome screen-slow.
If GApps isn't a problem for you, then I definitely recommend this ROM. Its super stable and smooth.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

- SE Linux is disabled (informed by Trust)
I tried this https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/849 with Magisk already installed.
adb shell
su
echo 1 > /sys/fs/selinux/enforce
# /sys/fs/selinux/enforce had 0 value

After a reboot it still does not work.
I precised I've installed the official Android 10 Rom of Asus before installing LineageOS 18.1.
- Sharing Wifi passwords with QRcode makes the window settings crash before seeing any QRcode on the screen.
Is there any alternative of SELinux to get a malware protection ?
Thanks for the ROM, everything's working great!
One little, minor issue: fingerprint is working fine to unlock the device (much faster then the official betas from Asus) but it doesn't seem to be available to apps.

It won't work, as it's a kernel side implementation.

Sorry for my bad English, does this mean there's no way to make apps use the fingerprint sensor?

Have these issues been fixed yet? I'm planning to upgrade stock Android 8 to this ROM, but it would be helpful if someone can clarify the status of these bugs.

Media working great on whatsapp youtube spotify and browser (based on daily activity).
Fingerprint is not available for apps but works for lockscreen.
This is the only "bug" I can note in this rom. I can totally suggest upgrading.

The developer and maintainer of the ROM knows better than me. We can just wait for his reply
this rom serves for nothing more than to brike devices, try several times taking into account each step of the instructions in detail even the base version to make the flash and that in the instructions does not specify if you should use the format option in twrp after the wipe ... very bad job, hopefully the best and do something that does not send users to bootloop.
