I am trying to change the boot animation but can't find the location of the original
Might depend on the carrier, but should it be /product/carrier/vzw/media.
Keep in mind it's a read only partition.
yes you can find bootanimation in
product/carrier/xxx/média
or in
product/media/bootanimation.zip

Hi, welcome to XDA Assist. I see that you've posted this question here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/archidroid-qa-t-t2606728/page317 That is the best place to get your question answered.

Today i got bored and decided i got sick of the stock splash image so i created one specifically for MCAOSP Pie ROM.
It's made so that it transitions directly into the ROM bootanimation.
Preview here:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Instalation:
1. Copy the splash.zip into your internal or external storage.
2. Flash through recovery.
3. Enjoy.
Download:
HERE
P.S: This is ONLY the splash image (that mi logo and where it says "unlocked" when you reboot), the bootanimation is not included. You can flash it on any rom, but i won't look as good.
Just out of curiosity, in what directory can I find splash.img?

There is: /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash but not as the .img itself.
What should i backup to be safe ?
Hey everyone, I made a stupid decision to try and repartition without any prior knowledge and I made a really dumb mistake.
Without looking up that it was Nexus 7 thread and not Nexus 5 thread, I installed these zip files through TWRP:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Which are posted in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...on-extra-space-for-rom.3599907/#post-76278047
Due to the dumb mistake, I can no longer install system.img through ADB because I receive this error:
Is there any way that my phone can be saved?
Thanks.

You can do a new and larger repartition (or try to restore stock one) with just one simple terminal command, if you install this TWRP.
