Question GW5 Pro appid - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

I upgraded my original GW to the GW5 Pro.
I made several skeleton watches faces that were for that tizen OS.
I've been able to convert my faces to wearos and get them loaded onto the new watch.
I'm not that great at using adb.
I'm having trouble getting it to connect to my watch.
I'm wanting to get a list of the appids so that I can update the links to open the proper apps on the new watch.
Does anyone have a list yet?

Found what I was looking for.
This thread came up after I posted this question.
Watch4 ADB Commands - Disable/Enable/Uninstall/Restore system app, Install/pull Apps
Hello Everyone, I hope you all are good, So I see some on you wondering about how to uninstall, reinstall, install, pull, enable and disable apps for the watch, so I decided to make this thread to address these different scenarios, this is based...
forum.xda-developers.com
Found the id I was looking for, which is the way I thought I wrote it out on the wf.
Looks like the GW4 ids work for the 5... at least the one I tried.

Samsung Gear S3 App Development

Has anyone managed to create a simple hello world gear s3 application?
The process of getting and signing certificates only adds to the frustration with the lack of documentation.. I can't get demo anything on the actual watch itself..
I did. Not that hard...
I had a hell of a time doing this last night. Kept on getting an error while trying to deploy my hello world app to the watch. I finally figured out that I didn't install the certificate plugin under tools in the package manage (Or something like that. Don't have it in front of me now). Once I got that installed I was able to create the required Samsung certificate (not the Tizen one). With that done my app then installed just fine.
Not sure if I missed in the documentation what exactly needed to be installed with the package manager to install apps on a physical device but I couldn't really find much information when looking for solutions to the error I was getting.

Where to find all apps?

Hi everyone,
I just changed my phone (which is not anymore a Samsung) but I kept my Gear S2. Unfortunately, I realized I have no more the same full access to the Samsung gear store. I used to run with Pear Sports and I can't find anymore the app for the gear ( I found for my phone only). Pear Sport explain this is because the exclusive partnership they have with Samsung.
I desperately looking for this since few days already but can't find. So, my question is, where can I find another way to sideload all apps and install this Pear Sport on my watch again?
Thanks for your help!

[MOD] Working Samsung Gear App and IconX (2018) for non-Samsung devices.

I wanted some new earbuds for the gym that would actually stay in my ears. I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube. I considered Air by crazybaby Nanos till I heard of the connection problems they had with the Micros. Finally I found the 2018 model of the IconXs.
The IconXs aren't going to blow you away, but they are a very good alternative to Airpods. Especially if you want more of a closed ear for passive noise canceling. They also majorly improved the battery life over last year's model. I was also able to buy them for $150 instead of the normal $200, because of Black Friday.
They have one Achilles heel though. The Android app only wants to work on Samsung phones. For other Samsung Gear someone created a modified app, and posted it to XDA. But the support for IconXs is added by a plugin. There is also one for the older model, and one for the newer model. For extra fun the app and the plugins have to be signed with the same key. But since the new 2018 plugin is so new, it hasn't been posted on XDA.
The app makes it easier to pair them with your phone. It lets you remap gestures and taps for control. It lets you load music on the 4gb of internal storage. It lets you control if it mixes in the environment with what is playing.
I am really disappointed in Samsung for locking the app to their phones. They seem to be a good to great hardware company, but seem to not understand software on some level.
I had to download the modified app, and the 2018 IconX plugin. Then I had to sign both on my laptop. Then I uploaded the modified copies to my phone, and installed them. Now it just works!
Instructions:
Download both apks, and sign.jar. Then run "java -jar sign.jar file.apk" once per apk. You will end up with two files with the same names, but with a .s prefixed before apk. Get those on the phone, and install them. You will need "Unknown sources" enabled on your phone.
Using this program to sign them isn't ideal. There are probably better ways to do this.

Plugin download: https://m.apkpure.com/gear-iconx-2018-plugin/com.samsung.accessory.beansmgr
Github project for signing apks: https://github.com/appium/sign
Is this still needed? Trying to decide if my force.closes are related to Android_P or non-Samsung device.
Following this I am also getting FC running Note3 SM-N9005. Custom ROM 6.1.1 no root.
Resigned Galaxy Gear cannot find the IconX 2018
Hi there.
Thanks for the thread.
I did what you suggested and I was able to install Galaxy Gear. I also installed the resigned iconX 2018 plugin but since it's not an app you can open, I don't really have an indication if it worked or not.
When I open Galaxy Gear, it's not able to find my earbuds even when I have them in my ears (it's not detecting them even though my BT is on).
How did you detect the IconX 2018???
Thanks.
Note: I also tried a resigned Samsung Wearable (the new renamed Gear app) but even resigned, I wasn't able to install it at all (usual error message).
Are you just resigning the app? didn't change any code in the app?
I bought gear iconx today,i have honor note 8 which i really liked, after 1 hour i have managed to work iconx 2018 plug in properly,in order to work this apk you need modified gear iconx apk posted here and you need to download samsung accessory service apk from play store and that's it,now you got fully operating gear apk.
Here is the samsung app

Question Can't get Huawei Mate 20 Pro to connect to GW4

I had a look at the method where you just add the watch to Samsung Health, but unfortunately, this didn't work for me. When I do, it just sits there. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Galaxy Wearables app, but whether I have this installed or not, makes no difference.
Then I tried the workaround of getting the modified apk, but the link has expired. Does anyone have a copy?
Does anyone know if this is an issue that's likely to be fixed in the future or if it's an intentional problem, due to the US Huawei ban?
It's very disappointing, as I just want to play with my new watch, but I can't.
Videos showing how it's not working for me.
One where I already have the Wearable App installed and one where I don't.
There was a thread here a couple weeks ago but I cannot find it with search or going through the threads.
Not sure if you have seen this Reddit thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/p82h39
Apparently there is a workaround and if that does not work I believe there is an APK. There are also some Youtube videos out there.

Question Gmail and Dual/Cloned apps notifications

Hi all.
I open this thread after reading and searching on all the WWW a solution on the notification problems the GW4 has.
I'd like this thread would be a repository of all the solutions tried and tips or workarounds to fix these issues.
Here following my direct experience
Gmail - every received email is not notified on the watch: no vibration. It's visible just the "notifications" dot on the left. Then, no one of the quick action is working. If I delete the email, the watch tells me to look at the phone, but the action is not taken.
I use Stark for other email accounts, not Gmail, and it's working perfectly.
Anyone of you has the same issue? Any fix for it?
Dual or Cloned apps - my phone is a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and I have the cloned WhatsApp. Whenever I get a message on it, the watch doesn't do nothing, not even the notification dot. It's like this app is not "seen" by the GW4 and by the wearable app.
My former smartwatch, a Ticwatch E, was correctly receiving and notifying both WhatsApp' messages.
I tried to clone the wearable app as well, but no success. I wanted to clone also the Plug-in, but there's no option in my phone for this.
Same question: anyone else has my same problem? Is there any solution?
Please share your experiences and let's try to find out the solutions!!
Thank you in advance

For cloned apps or apps from Work Profile - you can use Tasker and AutoNotification to intercept the notification, and AutoWear to produce the new notification directly on the watch from captured data. Or buy Samsung phone - they are passing all the notifications to the watch natively (exclusive feature for sams phone + sams watch)

I honestly wanted to avoid the installation of several apps for something that should work without any problems.
The wear OS made by Samsung seems really to be too much closed to all which is not Samsung, and this is not nice...

It's not a Samsung - it's a Google. Android is separating normal and work profiles as much as possible, as technically you have two separate users and they shouldn't mix. On own phones Samsung just have a backdoor for that embedded into the ROM.

It's strange because, as I wrote in 1st post, before I was using a Ticwatch connected to the phone via the Google's Wear OS app and everything was working smoothly.
Samsung doesn't allow to connect the GW4 via Wear OS app, but just its Wearable app.
In Wear OS app I was able to see WhatsApp as 2 different apps, the native and the cloned. In Samsung app just the native.
Is there any way to make cloned WhatsApp "visible" to wearable app?
I see one commenter on Sammobile says the latest update (DUJA) fixes Gmail notifications!
