download mode or recovery mode doesn't work, it keeps turning on with the green dots on it

I'm afraid that Samsung Support is now your only option, seems like You've tried everything you could do on your own without voiding the warranty. As last resort, try extra dry it since it was in fact left unattended, then try download mode once more after.

Yep, best suggestion for now

Can someone explain what the "green dots" mean?

you can't enter download mode without plugging in an USB cable...

my best suggestion is to try to go on download mode and reflash the software using the NAND erase function (refer to my post https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ts-functions-explained-noob-friendly.4540331/ )
if you don't succeed, search up "Test Point a32 5g"

Bro, I had the same problem, but mine got bricked when updating via Smart Switch( PC ). The app said it was a new firmware version to be updated, I thought: "Oh, nice, let's update it!", but, bro, it was bad thing, it got a error that something went wrong in the update, so, it was not starting;
Couple of things to know:
The Knox will just get tripped if you flash another recovery, eg: TWRP; to root you need a custom recovery, then we can say that root trips the Knox;
My A326B was OEM LOCKED, and there is no way to unlock it when you don't have access perfectly to android visually saying, you can relax about you data because the encryption of Knox does a good job on protecting your files;
When I tried flashing normally it got the message of failure to write in download mode and so in ODIN as well.
Before doing that consider going to a Samsung Support. Or just ignore this message.
After trying many methods, in case you have some problems in entering the bootloader mode, you can use the "Samsung 300K Tool.exe", it helped me entering my A326B to bootloader mode. After doing many stuff, and many times trying to install the system again, I realized because of the text saying about the bootloader, so a downloaded the exact same version of the firmware, in my case, from Brazil, and I just put in ODIN one file, the BL one, that is, the bootloader one. I got surprised when my smartphone just had awaken from a long journey of trying to relive it and I got impressed, even if all that messy things a tested my data was intact, so, my smartphone booted up working perfectly.
Where to find the firmwares? https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
if not, just copy the name of the firmware search it on internet, find somewhere to download.
Try to remember what was the last version( month ) that was installed before the installation or the one that was getting installed.
There's is also a windows app( FRP HIJACKER clicking in softbrick fixer choosing some model there) that can unbrick, or even try, or make you little more towards the door of getting out of this problem. Unfortunately, I could not notice, I was worried that time trying to relive the smartphone and so I don't know if by using this app will trip the Knox.
There's something you must know, I don't know where, when your smartphone got interrupted in installation, in which part of the installation.
Anything I can help you, i'm here.

I didn't know that time that by flashing a custom recovery would trip the Knox, saddddd, but I've learned more things.
Samsung Health, Samsung Pass, Samsung Pay, Samsung Secure Folder, and other apps that use Knox Security Technology will not work if Knox get tripped, and It seems like that google pay don't work with in rooted in this smartphone, even if you use Magisk Zygote.

I said bootloader mode in the post, but it was downloader mode.

Samsung just won't update this guy( A326B ) to Android 14.

Idol 3- Stuck In Bootloop After Flashing boot.img

Idol 3 Bootloop
I need your assistance
Hi, I have read through all of the posts and tried to find a solution with no luck.
I tend to always go one step too far with my hacking and playing/experimenting.
Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 5.5 6045K
It was booting into TWRP fine.
Then I wrote the non-functioning boot.img (which I thought was the backup of my pre-rooting version) on top of the working twrp recovery image.
So instead of installing the boot.img to the boot partition, I installed it to the recovery partition by mistake.
So now...
My phone just keeps booting and booting.
Alcatel Screen appears
The SuperSU installer starts
runs through its steps
Done!
Cleaning Up....
Will reboot in 10 seconds....
And starts all over again.
adb does not find any devices anymore
I am wondering if it possible at all to format the external sd card so that the phone will boot directly from there.
I have one single ray of hope ( maybe ) . The phone will boot into download mode. (Power off, hole power, volume up and volume down to activate)
The challenge I have now is the USB driver that was working now does not recognize the phone.
I have tried fastboot and I have also tried the OnDemand script. No luck.
I read that the download mode is used for flashing firmware and roms (most likely by the manufacturer)
Has anyone been able to install a rom using the download method successfully?
I am on Windows 10 All-in-One PC
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

More Info
No ideas anyone?
Here is some more info. Hopefully it helps.
So this is what my screen looks like when the phone is turned on. I can only turn it off if it is not plugged in to usb or power.

This is the Download Mode. (Power off - then hold power button, volume up, and volume down. Let go when splash screen starts)
Download mode makes a connection sound on my PC so I know something is being recognized.
The phone stops bootloop and waits for something?
This is what appears in Devices and Printers Windows
These are the USB Properties for the USB Driver.
I am thinking that maybe there is a secret usb driver that Telus uses or Alcatel uses to push the firmware or rom onto the phone. Not just the default Alcatel usb driver. (not sure)
Even if I could somehow push a ne SuperSu.zip or my original backup files, everything would be good.
Any ideas would be amazing. I know the trials and tribulations of working with a new product. Hopefully you experts can decode this one.
Thank you.

Sadly no. That would be too easy. I occidentally wrote the not working boot image over top of the working recovery image. (Yes I know, I am an idiot. I knew I was doing it at the time, but I hit reboot anyway. That's when the loop started.)
You need a bunch of files in order to flash anything while the device is in download mode. Search in baidu for 'tct msm8939 qpst'. You will find info (and the necessary files) for m3g. The device has identical hardware as 6045, but I don't know where the similarities end. Your device can become completely unusable when you play with these tools (QPST, QFIL etc.), but I'm sure that you are aware of this. Good luck.
what about off warranty repair by alcatel service in your country?

The loop you described doesn't sound like it has anything to do with recovery...you described what happens when you FLASH the boot.img used to root the device instead of just booting it. This will result in the infinate loops. The recovery partition is not used at all until you actually try to go in it by holding down up arrow while it's booting...I would try this several times to ensure you can't get into recovery because if you can get there you can restore your device. If you can not, then it's a paperweight and you should send it off for replacement because it doesn't look like any way to flash it using "download mode" is going to come out anytime soon.

Perhaps the chinese version of the idol 3 that was just released will lead to access to some of the config files we need.

Probably but the files must be released in the wild first. I do searches in baidu from time time in case that something interesting pops up. I also must to admit that the translation of these sites is awful in most cases

Well I sent my phone back.. Fortunately it was under warranty!
But now another hopefully minor issue with the replacement phone.

SM-G920P - Stuck on TWRP Screen!

[SOLVED]
So first of all, I apologise if another thread has been created. I have looked around and have seen nothing similar to my situation. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me out.
I rooted my SM-G920P device and trid to install the TWRP Recovery. I'm currently on 5.1.1.
It didn't work and I ended up with the start-up screen saying:
SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 Powered by Android.
At the top left it says: Recovery is not seandroid enforcing.
I have tried flashing twrp 2.8.7.1 with ODIN and I end up with the following screen.

The touch screen does not work so I am unable to swipe.
This is the issue I am having.
If I can get my phone back to normal functionality, I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance.
Hi teekeiwong,
Press and hold "Volume Down" + "Home" + "Power" until phone reboots. When you see boot screen, release power key but keep holding volume down + home until you get to download mode. Release all and press volume up to agree to enter download mode.
Download this on your pc and open up Odin.
Connect your phone and add your downloaded file to the "AP/PDA" button in odin. Make sure ONLY F. Reset Time and Auto-Reboot are checked. If anything else is checked then uncheck it before starting.
Click start and wait for it to finish, might take a while for your phone to boot first time after flashing
AFTER you are back to stock, take a GOOD look over here and you might just get a working root & custom recovery
Hope this helps!
- Renolz
Thanks Renolz.
I've been searching forums all over the place. I'll give it a try when I have a bit more time on my hands.
Thanks again.
Also I have another queestion which I hope you will be able to help me with. On my phone when I go to Settings - About Phone, the model number is SM-G920F. However when I go into Download mode I see that the model number is SM-G920P.
What am I supposed to go with?
Also after flashing the Noble ROM to convert my S6 into an S6 Edge Plus, I lost the baseband. I no longer can gain any signal to make calls nor texts. Would you have any idea how to go about this?
Thanks again

I may have bricked my new oneplus6

I got the phone yesterday, I rooted and today I tried to disable fused location, but when I did it and reboot, it shows me a screen, not bootloop, only a screen with asian characters which I don't understand except 'rf' in the middle.

So what I can do? I treated like a hard brick? I tried downloading the package-restrictions.xml file and change from disable to enable but that didn't work.
I was thinking than maybe installing the system from 0 could help but I suppose the zips from here don't work since it doesn't rewrite the data partition, and most probably the fail is there no?
EDIT: More information, seems the error is about an RF test https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/stuck-rf-test-boot-t3610400
If you have an unlocked bootloader use this to restore to stock. This has saved my phone once.

If post above does not work use the msmtool
I tried the method of miket674, first with "flash-all-partitions-fastboot" and then with "flash-all-partitions" without luck.
I'm trying with your method now, but the part of USB_BULK is not working, or nothing appears or a Oneplus without drivers recognized appear in device manager.
EDIT: I followed the guide, but it showed me an error of sahara communication failed, so I unplug, I tried to power on, but now it don't listen to the power on button.....
EDIT2: Seems now it can wake up or do anything at all, so the guide for fixing hard brick, let the phone worse than hard brick xD I contacted with oneplus support and they told me they need to perform an Inspection but maybe they fix the phone like it were in warranty.
EDIT3: After pressing power on + vol down like 10s or more it boot up to the error from before.
EDIT4: At the end I finished to do all the steps of MsmDownloadTool V4.0 but nothing, he finished, auto booted and the same chinese words with rf in the middle.
EDIT5: Weirdest thing happened, I went to sleep, and 3h later I tried to turn it on and the error was not there, and it welcome me with a clean OOS.... so not sure what fixed it, if the first method or the second, but seems fixed...
EDIT6: Aaaand the error came back when I rebooted because the step of "Adding finishing touches" never ended.
in TWRP
/data/system/users/0/ rename package restriction to .old
this resets your apps that have been disabled to enable incase you break something disabling apps in TIBU
---------- Post added at 02:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:48 PM ----------
why dont you format /data in recovery?
After EDIT6 I tried to format /data from recovery but didn't work, also i think the first method already wipe all the partitions. And I can't access TWRP because now the recovery is the standard one
EDIT: Seems that if I wait more than 10 minutes with the phone turn off and then I boot it, then it goes to a clean OOS, although is the second time getting stuck in "Adding finishing touches", and this time instead of reboot it, I'm going to let it until it wants to end.
EDIT2: 30 minutes later the phone finished with the "Adding finishing touches", so now I'm updating to OOS 5.1.9 and I'll try to reboot it, but I think it will happen as before and it will show me the error, it may possible be happening this because of the 2 partitions? Maybe when I wait 10 minutes to start it boot the other partition which don't have the error.

It is more than likely a hardware issues then if it came back for no reason at all, I would send to oneplus
Just try to lock the bootloader back which will make your device normal as it came from box then you can unlock it again

Ultimately broken TF300T (XDA is my last hope)

Hello. First of all, forgive me for my terrible english.
Short version: USB Debugging is disabled, no one remembers the unlock pattern to stock lock screen, stock recovery is missing (which mean the factory reset and RCK is not working at all) and (
to make it funnier) bootloader is locked. How can I 1) Unlock the tablet and turn on USB Debugging or 2) Flash stock ROM or at least stock recovery?
Long version: Some years ago, when I was a kid, my parents bought this tablet for my younger sister. It worked great until my dad broke up the screen. I don't remember how he did that, but he did it nonetheless. He bought new screen and then he broke up digitizer (great job dad) and then he lost probably digitizer frame or something like that, no matter. Broken tablet lied down somewhere for years. Since then I grow up, I finished midschool and now I am close to finish college (IT, mainly programming :3). Some days ago all missing parts was somehow found and I am trying to fix that wonderful piece of technology (because it is almost new). The problem is (or rather it is the beginning of problems), my awesome dad bought wrong version of digitizer (G03 instead of G01), and the touch screen is not working. Its fine I said, not knowing what should I do now. I found that this problem can be solved by flashing new driver for touchscreen. Great! But the USB Debugging was disabled. So I needed to enable it, without touchscreen to fix the touchscreen, great! Then the next problem has appeared. How could I control a tablet without touchscreen. I solved that by buying not-a-cheap-usb-otg-adapter-o-thing which is necessary to connect usb mouse. And of course there is another problem. Pattern on lock screen. My sister forgot the pattern so this is dead end for me. I wanted to recover any potential photos on this thing but at this moment I said "**** it, lets do this the simple way". I turned off tablet by changing position of funny hidden switch on motherboard to off and back to on. I hold power with vol down, then I saw a menu with three icons and last of them was "Wipe data". I selected this option only to see lovely red text "unrecoverable bootloader error". This is the moment where I really don't know what to do next. I cant flash stock ROM because of locked bootloader. I also can't turn on USB Debugging because of pattern on lockscreen. I cant remove that pattern, because wipe data doesn't work.
The things I tried:
Multiple fancy patterns with hope I guess correct.
Multiple ways to remove lockscreen
Flash stock rom by "fastboot flash system blop" anyway
Flash TWRP by "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" anyway
Flashing stock ROM by RCK option anyway
Unlocking bootloader by options meant for other devices like "fastboot oem unlock" and that kind of things
Of course I can't unlock bootloader by Asus app (locked screen) or remove pattern by ADB.
Is there any options that I could try before throwing this amazing tablet to trash? Once again, forgive me for any mistakes, my English should be better if I want to be a programmer
Thank you very much for any kind of help!
Try the steps in this post to install latest factory/stock ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44244313
Key steps:
- download correct stock ROM (SKU) for your device from Asus website
- enter fastboot mode
- install appropriate drivers for your OS
Hope that works out for you.

Thank you very much for response. I have no idea why this worked this time. I tried this method at least 10 times step by step. At least tablet is now alive and unlocked .
However now is problem with touch screen. Touch firmware version is: ELAN-0000-0000 which is obviously wrong and updating firmware by touch_fw_update just gives bunch of errors:

Tablet is flashed using US firmware. Maybe I should flash WW version which I'm going to try next and I will see what happen.
There is always an option that touch screen is physical damaged somewhere and just won't work.
Anyway, thanks again for help with solving one problem!

Question A12 How to unlock screen

We got my mother in law a new A12 about a week ago and yesterday she set up a screen lock pin thinking it was for one of her apps and then forgot the pin. Grrrr... How do I recover the phone? My wife is bringing the phone home here so I can figure out how to unlock or factory reset it. Can I reload the firmware using odin to recover the phone?

Yeah that is what I figured. What keys to enter recovery mode and reset on the A12?

Tipically is pressing the PWR + vol up starting from device off, when device starts to vibrate and/or appears the Samsung logo hold the PWR button and keep pressing the vol button
seems like it will not even let me turn the phone off without the password.

Press the three buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds or so, when device starts to reboot release the PWR button and keep pressing the volume button.
Thanks that worked. I was able to get into android recovery and format /data.
So even after recovery /data format and restart and even with the SIM removed the phone wants the prior password. MIL has forgotten all the passwords and even her google account I cannot access anymore. Do I need to use ODIN to flash the latest stock A12 FW to somehow erase it's prior password cache?

I guess that this is Samsung requesting to logging in the last Samsung account registered on the device.
Even if you or something else forgot the password, you can erase it ALWAYS that you are the owner, by entering in your Samsung and probably next to the Google account.
Not sure how to unlock it in setup. I think you are right in that it wants the samsung account password. She reset and forgot the screenlock, gmail, and samsung account passwords. I am about ready to give up on this phone it is 2 weeks and trying unpuck this carp is now taking more time $ than just buying a new A12

She can check in her Google/Samsung account, she can recover it, probably she set up some kind of two-steps verification or linked this mail to another, or to a some phone number, there are various methods that allow actually recover a password.
The thing is that your issue is addressing to FRP, and this is not allowed in this Forum (although you can find some info about even here). But you have the tip there, the direction where to can guide you.
Thanks. FRP is new to me. I get it why this is not allowed. I'm giving up on this phone. It is amazing that she could basically destroy a new cell phone that is less than two weeks old. $200 paperweight now.

If it is in warranty and she has proof of purchase, contact tech support at 1-800-samsung and they'll furnish a shipping label to send it to them and they'll unlock it.
