Hi guys I have a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G im in the UK and my phone is totally stock. I've just read the guide for unlocking the bootloader and it mentions the phone needs to be SIM unlocked. My phone is locked to EE as it's the 5G version does that mean I carnt unlock the bootloader and install custom ROMs ?
Similar to how the 6T was done you could flash the build with a modified program. This let you bypass getting an unlock token from T-Mobile. Can you do this with the 8 or 8T as well?

Bring the program over. Let's check it out. On the surface no. We have to request SIM unlock in order to bootloader unlock. I don't know any program that would bypass the bootloader unlock. But I'm TMO running global 11.0.2.2.IN21AA rooted. Happy modding!

I know on the 7t pro McLaren they used an altered msm to somehow force your device to allow bootloader unlock without the need for the sim unlock and token portion of the process. Not sure how it was done though, or if it would even be possible on this device.

So I'm familiar with the OnePlus 7 pro scene, imagine reason is same for 7T pro. One of the beta builds for the 7 pro unlocked the bootloader. This was not intentional by OnePlus and is how you could get around carrier locked bootloader's. There was no such mistake on any of the OnePlus 8 builds so you do need to get carrier to unlock your device before you can bootloader unlocked.

What is it about the T-Mobile firmware that you hate? IIRC the only difference is international enables dual sim

I just hate the boot logo, bloatware and I heard the international firmware runs alot smoother plus gets updates quicker
Are you asking if the bootloader would become re-locked, or if the SIM would become carrier locked? Are both currently unlocked?
Once you are carrier unlocked you are always carrier unlocked. But flashing international wont make you carrier unlocked. You have to have someone on the T-Mobile side do that for you.

I'm ordering a tmobile unlocked oneplus 7 pro from Amazon and was wondering if I flash the international firmware could the sim carrier relock

So would the Amazon renewed oneplus 7 pro tmobile gsm unlocked be permanently carrier unlocked?
MSM tool will not relock the sim. The lock is in the efs. And this is not flashed by MSM.so you are good to go. But before flashing ,if you are scared it will lock, you can use qfil or edl.py with the firehose programmer elf .and make a backup of modemst1 and modemst2. With these 2 copyed in the unlocked state ,u will be ok. I have locked and unlocked the sim many times for testing by having backups of locked modemst1 and 2 and unlocked. U can go back and forth all u like.alway back these up ,they will only work for your device. With the same HW I'd.

Are there any other requirements other than the phone needs to be SIM unlocked to obtain a bootloader unlock token from Oneplus? I don't mind waiting for 7 days, but just want to make sure if I buy a used one from ebay, its bootloader can be unlocked and phone can be rooted.
that's all i needed to unlock bootloader , unless somebody already unlocked the bootloader with their account and relocked it i dont know how it would work then , i had same concern buying second hand t-mobile op8
