Question about Google account? - General Questions and Answers

Hello everyone,
1. How does Google account work, if I have google account does it mean that every Google app in the phone is using the same Google account? e.g. Google Photos, Drive, Playstore...
2. If I do not have Google account can I use any gmail to login Playstore so I can download from Playstore? Can I use the gmail to login playstore, download app, then logout of playstore, without adding the gmail to become google account?
3. If I have Google account e.g [email protected], can I use another different gmail e.g. [email protected] to login Playstore?
4. If I do not have Google Photos app, I have Google account, does Google account backup contains all photos and videos? Does Google account and Google Photos backup exact same images and videos?
5. If I have a new phone, what is the difference of restore backup from Google account vs Samsung account vs restore backup by using Samsung smart switch transfer from old phone?
6. Is there something like Playstore that do not require any login?
Thanks.
(updated to add at 5. vs Samsung account)

1. Yes
2. No. Gmail accounts are automatically Google play accounts.
3. Yes
4. Google account does not backup your photos. Photos app backups your photos. If you install that app and don't modify your settings, it will backup your apps through photos app.
5. If you have the same info on both, there will be no difference. If you did not logged in into Google play, then backup from google play won't work.
6. Aurora app store

In addition to installing apps from Google Play Store, you can download apk files from the well-known apkmirror or apkpure website, then sideload apps.

At the first post I see "Disclaimer : Using Aurora Store with your own Google account may cause your account
to be blacklisted, use at your own risk."
What does it mean by blacklisted?
Does it mean the Gmail/Google account is blacklisted by Google? or does it mean Aurora Store blacklisted the Google account?
If blacklisted happens, can I delete/uninstall Aurora Store and recover the Google account back to normal? What ways to undo the blacklist?
Are both the same from these 2 sites?

How does apk sites like apkmirror.com get those apk? Do app creators give it to them?

Pretty much.
There's still some services that Google hasn't converted over but alot of their "big" ones are now Google Apps compatible.

I think Google is supposed to send you an email when it is time for your upgrade. If you have a normal Google account with the same email address as the Google apps one then you must change it or they conflict after the upgrade has finished. You can request to have your Google voice information move from the old Google account (now renamed) to your converted Google apps account when finished. The only things you can't login using Google apps is buzz, youtube, and a few misc items. Beyod that syncing works as expected all around on the phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
So being able to use Google voice works ok..I wa just getting used to sending text with it on my Hero and really like that feature..

Outdated google play installed with accounts manager

Hi,
So i was searching for methods to atleast help me login to some apps including taking a backup of my whatsapp chats to google drive.
I came across this :
Run snapchat without google services and without rooting
(1) Download and install snapchat from www.mediafire.com/download/00hbnrp11bmq6jk/Snapchat_9.7.2.0.apk (can download latest version from other places too but i have tested on this version)
(2)download google framework from https://sourceforge.net/projects/se...2.A.0.42/GoogleServicesFramework.apk/download
(3)download google Account Manager from www.mediafire.com/download/lho1jmw49k1gpqq/Google+Account+Manager_4.4.2-940549.apk
(4) download google play services from www.mediafire.com/download/ounh79r7av7da71/Google+Play+services_7.3.29+(1866531-036).apk
(5) Now install first google firmware than google manager and in the end google play service
(6) Restart your mobile (note your mobile may give error that google play service stopped ignore that and click cancel)
(7) now download and install google play store from www.mediafire.com/download/n2z2smxttttt7m7/Google+Play+Store_5.4.12.apk
(8) open playstore and login your account than close play store
(7) Now open snapchat and login your account you would be loged in but app will stop working
(8) After that go to application manager in your mobile and delete google play service, google playstore and google firmware
(9) Run snapchat and you are done
(10) Update your snapchat from any market you use after that if you want
Tested on Nokia X X2 and XL.
After following all this with exactly the same apk's i could manage to login to a gmail ID on the phone via the google accounts manager but every time i open an app that needs services, it would ask me to update the google play services.
So experimentally i updated the play store and services apk's and snapchat still refused to let me login but a different error this time(I feel it comes under their "against tweak" parameters.
Also whatsapp detects the google account but goes on forever authenticating the account, so im sure there is an issue communicating with google serves here.
Let me know if this thread makes any sense, or else it can be deleted. Thanks.
I tried it too. It didn't with for me. Would you mind adding the exact link to where u say it?

Update apps when you delete a google account

Hi
I have a question with Google Play accounts.
I have a phone with three Google accounts. In this phone all applications have been installed with a Google account that I now want to delete.
If I delete the account with which I installed the applications (in the phone there are still two accounts) the applications are still updated normally?
Especially the applications that I bought with the account I want to delete.
Thanks and best regards
P.D .: Sorry for my bad English.

If you want to be able to update the apps via Google PlayStore, you still need to be signed into the device with a Google account, you can't use PlayStore without an account.
If you want to update the apps without using a Google account, you can update the apps by manually downloading the updated apps from somewhere other than Google PlayStore and then manually install them on the device.

Yes, in the device there are still two google accounts.
But the applications that I have paid with the account I want to delete are still being updated?

Once you delete the account you delete all record that you bought the app and will most likely fail the Google server check as it won't be able to match the email account used to get the app.
You are stuck with the email.

Google apps installed through NikGapps vs Play Store

A lot of Google apps are provided both by NikGapps (in the packages and as addons) and are available in the Play Store too.
I read that some apps have missing features when installed via the store: Search doesn't support voice activation ("ok google"), Maps doesn't support timeline history etc. I'm thus wondering:
Is there a list of which extra features you get, if you install the Google Apps via NikGapps as opposed to the Store?
And I ran into an issue related to this: I flashed NikGapps Core, then installed various apps via the Store. Maps' Timeline History wasn't working for me, so I was suggested to install GMaps from NikGapps. I uninstalled the Maps from store, flashed the NikGapps' one, but now Maps it's not working at all: even after force-stopping and clearing the app's cache and storage, Maps is not showing any map at all and doesn't work.
Can I fix it in any way? Or do I need to clean-flash my ROM and start over from scratch?
Start over from the scratch.
BTW:
The apps-package called NikGApps is softwares copyrighted by Google. Take note that Google name this softwares "GMS". GMS is not open-source. Instead, Google selectively licenses it to device manufacturers or OEMs for free, read: Device manufacturers require a license from Google in order to bundle GMS.
Installing GMS-apps via Google Play Store has the advantage that the apps get automatically updated if Google deem it necessary.

FDroid vs Aurorastore

Aurorastore downloads all apps from the google playstore.
Does FDroid do the same or where is the client downloading the apps from?
I believe Fdroid's catalogue is only free and open source apps, and does not host anything already hosted on Google Play Store.
AFAIK the F-Droid client lists over over 3,800 apps, whereas tthe Aurora Store - what is nothing else then Google Play Store client, too - lists about 3 million apps
