No..
This is the first time I will say this but, if you really like Windows Phone 7, sell your Android device and get a Widows Phone 7 device. Best choice you can make
Yes. If not.... can someone enlighten me?
It will just take a lot of work and won't be near feasible to even support. Cellphone adoption rate says its better to just go buy the phone.

It's technically possible if the phone is using a Snapdragon processor, but so far no one has figure out how to hack the Windows Phone bootloader onto those devices.
So no or at least not currently.
No, because wp7 and android uses another hardware.

You meant to attach any link?
i belive it's called launcher 7, it's ok but not great. So far the only device that has had the WP7 OS ported to it has been the HD2 because 1.) it had a partial internal build from HTC, and 2.) the HD2 has probably the largest community support of any device aside from the iPhone.
Thanks for your quick response.
I do think the OP asked about OS not theme
So from what I understand my Galaxy ain't gonna eat WP7 and that's something that's neva gonna happen.

Windows Phone doesn't support Flash. It supports H.264 like iOS (iPhone).

I have to say I like my Windows Phone (Focus) more than any iOS (iPhone 3GS) and Android (Atrix 4G) devices I've ever used.

I don't have answers for all but I do for some.
#2 Yes, market place is preloaded. However unlocking the phone and sideloading is a nice feature to learn.
#3 Yes, explorer is fairly good. I have had some occasional lagg but on a scale of 1-10 I give a 8/10. I'm a firefox fan myself.
#4 I'm on the fence, granted I have had it only a week. I have the HTC-HD7, some things I don't like are that A. my carrier, Microsoft and HTC have worked very hard to keep me from tethering B. (and this is exclusively my fault) my phone is not 4G capable despite being "the lastest and greatest" C. WP7 is nothing like WM6.5, you can't natively browse your phone OS and system files. I don't like this because I frequently put valuable data on my previous phone (HTC Harold) for safe keeping.
Honestly? The OS is very nice, I am a windows phone fan. However because of the tethering issues I have (finally figured out how to do it just recently) I am considering invoking my buyers remorse and trading in for a HTC Sensation4G, because the phone is specifically designed for tethering. But like I said I have some specific issues and some of them are my fault for not doing my homework before buying.
i'm waiting for nokia with wp7
Hi,
i am a real fan of windows mobile and i like it ALOT. my question is, is it possible to get windows mobile on the asus eee transformer? i really want it and i will offer alot for it. prefferably windows mobile 6.5 ofcourse. how can i do it myself and how long does it take?
best regards and thanks,
jakob sebens
yeah i know it sounds crazy, but i cannot get used to android and i really dont like google with their ads, i just wnat plain old windows mobile 6.5 i saw a couple of china tablets, but i want a nice powerful device with: indeed, windows mobile.
Well, as far as I know, there isn't a way to get it.
Nobody has ported it over and I'm not thinking there is enough interest to do so.
If you don't like android then an android tablet may not be the way to go.
If you would like to get rid of the ads all you need to do is root and install an app like adfree.
BTW, the ads are put in by the app developers, not Google.
ZOMFG are you retarded?
you reason is "i dont like android"
sell the tf and buy a windows tab.

I can sell you my Touch Diamond. It runs WinMo 6.5 and from reading your posts this seems just what you need.
Tell you what let's just swap my TD for your Transformer and we both win?
I'm completely speechless. I have to admit this is the first time I've seen this question asked.......hmmmmm......ahhhhhhhh.......well........WHY?
well, the point is: i dont like android, and google will gather all my private data with the add program. i don't like it. the point is that i have wonderfull software that i use for my htc x7500 with windows mobile, and i like an upgrade for it. saw the asus and i was in love. so what if i give the one who ports windows mobile for me on that device gets an eee pad transformer for present?

You would need to contact Microsoft and get them port Windoze to ARM architecture based processors and wait till they oblige.
As far as I can see this message thread is not going anywhere in its short life span - as you are in the wrong forum if you don't like Android and so this message thread would be killed in no time as being completely pointless.

Definitely not for me. Seem to be lacking in touch responsiveness, much like my WinMo phone was.
I was a good WinMo user for a few years, but then I got my Captivate. It was a much better experience. WinMo was just too dated, slow and less finger friendly. I waited a bit to see if MS would get something competitive out, but they took to long and I moved to Android.
WP7 seems like a good OS with potential, but I'm not making the switch at this point. Already invested in Android and it does what I need. Now when Windows 8 makes the rounds I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Hi,
I am completely frustrated from my Window 7.5 Mango.
I was using Android, having lots of apps in market/rooting etc. As compare to Android, Mango is nothing
Could anybody guide me to install Android into my Nokia Lumia 710

So can i install Windows 6.5 into Mango?
Thanks for ur reply,,,
I was having many apps & cracks for window 6.5. So is it possible to install Win 6.5 into my mobile -Lumia 710 ?
My main motive is to install apps/game into my mobile, but in windows market place I am not finding good apps for free (not even paid)

You'll find much better apps for WP compared to Windows Mobile. It's sad you decided to buy a phone without doing any research whatsoever.

Actually... get in touch with the other guy who wants to put WP 7 on his Inspire 4G and switch devices.
Actually just wait a while, I think I heard some where that DFT is working on a ROM for 2nd gen devices. Then you will be fully unlocked and able to customize and even have Bluetooth file transfer and so on.

2nd gen HTC's not Nokia sadly. The only real solution is if you want a phone that has Android on it buy an Android phone. If you want a phone that has iOS on it buy an iPhone. If you want something thay you can hack the hell out of buy an HD2. Or you can be like me and do all of the above
i am also looking for similar solution...unfortunately right now there is no android solution....the most recent progress is interior unlocked the phone, similar to the rooting concept. Microsft and Nokia are extremely picky about allowing changes.

Three questions:
1. If you wanted Android, why the heck did you buy a Windows phone?
2. If you already know that people haven't yet ported Android to the Lumia 710, why did you ask? That thread talks about the progress toward doing this, and says it doesn't work yet.
3. Why are you posting a device-specific question in the general WP7 Q&A forum? I mean, you linked to the exact Q&A thread relevant to your question. You could also check the Lumia 800 (typically also includes 710 since they are almost identical internally) Development sub-forum, and read the unlock/NAND-access thread there...

frustrating for him is i think the approach, he purchased a wp7 but want android on it. that's funny, you dont buy a golf cab to race against an sports car. you buy a sports car not a comparison with that car to wp7
the second thing. he want maybe to try android, because of the hacking abilities and customization and bla bla... and in the end everyone, and believe me everyone switches to the stock things that you have on your phone since the first day. that's the same with nokia and symbian, eveyone of us wanted a cool background picture, "cool" sounds, gimicks, but in the end nokia had a very good interface and backgrounds and sounds. he purchased now a nokia lumia 710 for which people sit many weeks to think of the variety of sounds and lockscreen so that it suites all of us. and after 100 background i use now the stock ones... the same is with custom accent color, i used 150 different to come to the stock ones, which suites definitely the best! thats why microsoft said 9 10 accent are enough because we get in the end wp8

Calm down, he was just trying to help.
For the record, WP isn't better than wm, two different devices for two different jobs, MS may have dumped one of them but I can state without doubt that WM is alive and kicking in the business world and will be for some time to come yet I bet the other thing to remember is that wm development kickstarted android, when droid took off all the devs split their focus, I wouldn't bank on their ever being a new " hd2 " ever again

Hi All,
Myself Vadim Segal, looking for a windows mobile phone. I want a best mobile phone which is great in terms of everything. And, I want you people to suggest me which one should I go for.
Thanks in advance!
Vadim Segal
HTC HD2 then you can also run android wp7 etc etc on an awesome device. But WHY would you even want to start on a discontinued OS?
Sent from my HD2 using Board Express
This is the Windows Phone 7 forum, not Windows mobile. They aren't the same OS (although they share some code at a low level, kind of like the way Android and Red Hat Enterprise Linux share some code). Are you asking for suggestions of a WP7 device?
Buy Nokia Lumia 710 or 800

Now there are many options available for the mobile phones supporting windows. You can go with HTC, Nokia710,800,900 etc. It totally depend on the features you need and the budget you have for buying the window mobile phone

Re:
Hello Mr Vadim Segal,
As I have seen above most of the people have suggested you Nokia Lumia 800. I would also suggest you the same. I am using this handset and I think you will also like it.It has many features that most of the users today want in their mobile phone starting from with window support to every advance features like 3g, wifi, GPS etc.. and yes the good battery back up for which Nokia is famous for. Now the version is also available.
You need to be clear that Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 are 2 different OSes and Lumia 800 is Windows Phone.
