I'm pretty sure he didn't ask "how" to find the download of the firmware, but for people who flashed the ROM, what is their evaluation/experience of this new firmware.
Easy change. Big up to to the Magisk team, root worked right away.
I haven't seen any big change yet -still checking...

I don't actually notice any difference, on this 3rd day, although responses may be a bit "perkier"

It is pretty bad for me still. Overnight battery drain used to be about 5%. Lately it has been 8-9%. Even tried a factory reset to make sure no bugs from the OTA update.
I put it on my 4a. It seems mostly the same.
Lock screen clock is bigger.
Media controls are heaps different.
I gotta update my apps now because new rules.
I haven't noticed battery issues but I'm not a heavy user and it's only been a day or two.
So far , I have only one issue: when I make a call, I hear also the ambient noise in my headphones.
Before upgrading to Android 13 I didn't have this issue and I was only hearing the other person speaking.

the problem with the screenshot is that android system and android OS never were the top consuming items back in marshmallow
They were in my case but now it's much worse... sometimes can't make it till dinner time.
Together with the Bluetooth crashing this Nougat upgrade it's a total disappointment.

did u do a factory reset ?
Still not, I'm planning to do it but it's so much work...
Suddenly without any new SW update (still B341) the battery drain is much better.
It didn't came for free though: the timer is totally screwed up so alarms are missed or late, apps in background closed, whatsapp messages received only at screen unlock plus as soon I unlock and bring down the notifications the new ones randomly disappears.
I was waiting a new SW update since there are many new versions around but it looks takes much longer with the EVA-L09 Vodafone Germany version.
Thinking about using the downgrade package provided by Huawei.
I'm beyond confused on what to do right now. The tablet is having problems left and right and Im just so confused, and no answers from Google are helping me.
Basically, I have three problems. First, the tablet cannot boot past the Nvidia logo. Second, the battery charges EXTREMELY SLOWLY. It took ten hours to get to 35%, and I fell asleep waiting for it to get one percent. And third, it discharges rapidly while on with the charger.
To note what I did, I installed TWRP, did numerous factory resets, and installed LineageOS. However, it just won't boot. Sp I am now here. Please help, I have no more options.

It's best to not update the OS ever. As long as it works. Also, Google auto update should be deactivated. In general, updates are bad. They take storage and eat performance in 80% of the case.

Regardless, this means nothig for the battery. I've also never seen updates ruin a device. For example, updates actually saved my phone out of brick. If not for Cyanogen, this phone would've stayed bricked.
OEM updates usual ruin the performance. That's my experience.
I've tried numerous 7.1.2 custom Nougat roms and have recently gone back to stock 5.2 and have to say that the device works a lot better.

After the 5.2 update, my K1 is running a bit smoother/faster than before. Particularly screen rotation, opening keyboard, opening apps & going back to home screen.
Battery life is as it was before the update.
One of the previous updates (5.1?) similarly improved performance a bit.

Experiences will vary. But that goes with just about any software change, be it an OEM update, custom ROM, kernel, etc. For every person that says the performance, battery, etc. is better; there will be another that says it's worse.
There are lots of variables in how you use the device, what apps, etc.

I can only speak for my own experience. Why fix something that isn't broken?
Oh yeah! Newer version number. And there must be something better about it then. Maybe more ads, or more data tracking.. who knows? Well, the devs know.^^

Security updates, for one thing.
As for ads and data tracking, you're making up problems that don't even exist.

In essence, I could blame the OEM when I got hacked? Really?
Quite frankly, that's yet another excuse to make people more gullible. 1984 all the way..

Yes, the comments by this user are over-generalized, hyperbolic, and nonsensical. They add little value to this forum. Just sounds like a guy that had a bad experience once or twice, and now has an axe to grind with every update on every device. Ever.

Hi all,
With the release of the newest update to OOS, I am wondering how peoples real like experiences are with the new version.
Reading patch notes gives only a certain amount of information.
Apart from camera improvements, has there been any significant affect on things like system performance, battery life, etc?
Is it worth updating if currently your phone is working well?
Thanks!
I haven't gotten the update yet. Tried VPN with location Germany but will have to wait I guess
everything works well for me, no big difference to be honest. no battery drain, good performance. i couldnt notice the camera improvements yet, but i didnt do a real analysis
if you want to have the update earlier, you can use the app "oxygen updater".

Some people are complaining, but people complain about every update.
It adds Google Lens if that matters to you. Camera seems about the same to me but I don't take a lot of pics with my phone.
Most important is that this one contains the 7/2018 security patch. That's enough of a reason.

Lol ok I know people want the security patches, but c'mon man, how many of you ever got hacked on you phone from some obscure exploit? I would stay on a slightly older security patch if it meant better battery, better camera and overall a better performing firmware. The security updates are good to have, but most of the time they aren't really doing a lot.
I updated. No major changes to be honest. I think the camera performed fine for me today. Not enough time to assess battery life but that will take a few days.

Fyi....Just updated, and did some before update pictures and after update pictures and have noticed less pixelation when zoomed in. Will need a couple days for it to start to show battery results.
Updated today and not noticing a big difference yet. Tho low light images look a lot better than before.

There was a leaked version of the 5.1.9 camera that had Lens. I flashed it and used it before 5.1.9 came out. You might try flashing that.

Alright, so currently im dealing with some Multitouch issues on my Pixel 4a. The repair place i went to UBREAKIFIX said they'll have to do the whole repair they did preciously again and charge me (because of 2 small dents at the side of the screen). Would not recommend. I wanted to get a poll of everyone with this exact issue Here is some steps to test:
1. Enable Developer Options (Go into build number click however many times and get developers options
2. Go to Developer Options in System settings,
3. Scroll down to Input and enable "Show taps" and "Pointer Location.
4. Put two fingers down and see if multiple pointers are shown (If not, Multi-touch does not work)
Also some other Notes:
Downgrading to Android 10, Makes multitouch work for some reason :/
Also would like to know if you've gotten your phone repaired before.
Any help figuring this whole thing out is appreciated

I honestly cant say if its the hardware or software, maybe it might be a combination of both? I'm not entirely sure, however downgrading to android 10 from googles flash tool does seem to have it work. I had what i would guess is a full screen replacement from UBREAKIFIX, due to shattering the entire screen. Honestly, spending 140 dollars just to see if it might work is not worth it to me, so I'm really not sure what to do.
Even doing it yourself the cheapest I've seen a screen is 110 from AliExpress, which I don't get because I just replaced one on a g7 moto play for 20 bucks off ebay

LineageOS 19.1 - multitouch just stopped working today after several weeks without problems. No repairs or damage.
I'm on stock but rooted. I've been slack so still on October patch. Multi touch working fine. Never had a problem with it.
(Finally updated to December patch and it's still working.)

I have LineageOS 19.1 here. So android 12. i'll try that android 10 approach
I can confirm now that downgrading to Official Google Pixel 4a Stock Rom Android 10 fixed the issue. I try to go back to LOS 20 now and see what happens.
PS: Using internal updater to update to Android 13 broke it again. Taking the long route now.
PPS: That chromium based flash tool is really handy. Would be awesome to have something like that for LineageOS.
PPS: As soon as I install anything above Android 10, multitouch stops working. I'll sell this stupid thing as is (will let te buyer know of course). Its a shame.
